The Wii isn't even in the same league as the PS3 and 360...

I'm guessing the TC has never heard of Netflix for the Wii, the News Channel, Internet Channel(You can play Youtube videos there), a Nintendo Channel for looking up videos and info on Nintendo games, a Weather Channel, a Voting Channel, a Photo Channel, and the list goes on and on.

Basically, you can use the Wii to watch movies, check out news and weather, surf the web, look at photos, vote in random polls, and look up info on Wii and DS games.

The Wii is more then a pure gaming machine. Why people don't bother researching that fact is beyond me.

it doesn't have HD graphics, no good online play, no good dashboard to watch movies and stuff. It's purely JUST a gaming machine. and a damn good one. However, sony and microsoft made gaming machine's into a combination of gaming and home entertainment. Nintendo just doesn't deliver in that department.

so even though the wii has a great library and im sure their are lots of ppl who play the wii more than ps3 or xbox, despite that, and sales, can we all agree that the wii is the worst console this gen?

Nintendo will never make a "multimedia" console or return to the hardware wars, imo. They have always made game consoles, not multimedia devices like Sony does. And with the new found market they got with the Wii, I can see them only further going in that direction.

You say in your opening statement the Wii is a good gaming system, that is all I want in my console :x I don't need or want all this media crap I have a pc and a laptop... all Sony and MS have done is created gimped pc's, if you enjoy those extra little features do yourself a favour and build a media pc.

Not really. I've actually been able to find more of what we want to watch on the Zune marketplace than we were able to with On Demand, especially shows that aren't on TV anymore. And once I have a show, I have it. I'm not at the mercy of the cable company taking it away the next month.

Hulu Plus will add even more advantages.

netflix with blu-ray upgrade is $11 a month my cable was over $80 a month. cable was better but not $70 a month better.

The Wii is aimed towards the non-gamer crowd and some old-school gamers that enjoyed the days of super mario bros and legend of zelda. Other than that, as a hardware powerhouse, it is not. It's a unique kind of gaming machine. This generation just wouldn't be the same if the Wii wasn't around despite the fact that I'm not so fond on motion controls. That is just obvious. Compare a 10 game on the Wii (Super Mario Galaxy 2) and a 10 game on an HD console or PC (MGS4). The Wii standards are a point or two lower. (another example, compare any AAA Wii game with any AAA 360 or PS3 game, you will see a difference)

360 and ps3 aren't even in the same league as pc. Hardly any 1080p games, worse graphics, worse controls, and doesn't even come near the functionality of pc.

I think the wii is pretty awesome in its own right. Plenty of exclusives and the concept was new at the time. So I think the wii is definatly still up there.
