So your talking about yourself right? Because I clearly was talking about me.:P
TP simply controls better with a controller, I could care less about if it's life-like or not. I'll go with what works better than something that works some-what but not as well as a controller.
I have TP on Wii, I enjoyed it, but it simply felt tacked-on with it's motion controls since it wasn't built from the ground up with that in mind. SS is what I was hoping TP would be on Wii.:)
100% agree, TP with a Wii mote was akward and a pain to target too, vastly worst than just using the pad imo
I thought TP was a lot better with the remote. Not the waggling, but the aiming was so much smoother than the slippery control stick aiming in previous games.[QUOTE="Dibdibdobdobo"][QUOTE="GoldenElementXL"] This post made my skin crawl in every way possible. I agree and do not consider the Wii to be a current gen system, its a revised Gamecube more or less. By no means am I saying its a terrible gaming machine, just not a current generation one.
GC: Played games Wii : WAYYY more than that. Also, its stronger than the last-gen consoles. So no, your opinion or not, the Wii is a current-gen system like the Ps3 and 360. Just because it doesn't do Ps3/360 graphics, doesn't mean that it is last-gen.I agree and do not consider the Wii to be a current gen system, its a revised Gamecube more or less. Well it is a current gen system seeing as generation is defined by the cycle in which it is released and not by the hardware specifications.I agree and do not consider the Wii to be a current gen system, its a revised Gamecube more or less. Thing is, I didn't say I "hated" TP with the remote at all! I enjoyed it with the remote, but that was mostly due to the novetly of playing it in a different way.:) Once I played both the GC and Wii versions again, GC simply gave me the superior control.:(
This was mostly due to how it was developed. I can bet yall a penny that if it was built from ground-up on the Wii, we would've probably been playing SS for the last 4 years!

Uhm...No. You have to agree with me, whether you like it or not.@ Tomarlyn Ok I went back and checked the posts. I misread your post and then you either misread or misunderstood my post even further. My misunderstanding came from the graphical debate we were having and then you pulled this "I'm sorry you feel that the only advantage of computing power" stuff out of left field. I never said or implied that. Moving on. I have also been on this board for over 6 years. So once again I am not your "son." I too am pulling my arguments from past posts and behaviors. Until I get a quote or a thread where a sheep uses the VC library as a tool of system superiority then I simply do not believe you. And even if someone has stated such an asinine claim, I would question your sources you use to label groups here on system wars. My examples are generalizations gathered from the majority of the different groups here on the forum, not just one or two people that said something stupid this one time. GoldenElementXLThats cool I'm not asking anyone to agree with me and there was obviously some confusion, furthermore I'm not going to link everything I post about because my references can go back quite a ways. Sometimes though I swear fanboys in denial would demand a link for saying the sky is blue. At the end of the day I refuse to let anyone attempt to discredit me personally, they'll regret it somewhere down the line.

In fact there are few games that use it in the way I feel it was intended. [QUOTE="LastRambo341"]I agree that the Wiimote is better ;)clone01i just think it depends on how its utilized. I loved the RE4 Wii edition controls. They felt very natural and intuitive. Other games, I much prefer a standard layout.
The best games are the ones where the motion controls are used to enhance the gameplay and not just "replicate a button press." Good examples would be No More Heroes and Godfather Blackhand.
Twilight Princess wasn't bad with the controls, but there's no denying that it certainly wasn't developed for the Wii Remote. Skyward Sword should make up for that.

12 years old? Then I guess saying that the Ps3/360 having the best library makes someone an 8 yr old, right??You don't make any sense.
Are Wii games MOST OFTEN (not always) geared toward younger and family Audiences? = Yes
I never said Wii doesn't have M rated games, but their biggest customers are the younger crowd.
And what the helldoes 8 yr olds have to do with it? How many 8 yr olds do you see playing games like Dead Space, Heavy Rain, God of War, Metal Gear Solid, and all the other adult-geared titles for PS3 and xbox?
[QUOTE="Demonjoe93"]
I happened to have played those games.... (I may also add that a lot the Wii has is just more of the same) Metroid Prime 3: Beautiful. Raised the bar for my expectations (on the Wii) and In my opinion, may actually compete with it's HD rivals. Twilight Princess: You got to be kidding me. Link himself has a nice looking character model, but the low res textures, lighting and etc. are all so bland looking! Super mario Galaxy: As with all games with a heavy dependence on its art style, not every bit will look nice, but water reflection/enemy models and certain parts look good. Okami: No. JUST No. No More Heroes: Cel shaded graphics suck, at least NMH doesn't look as bad as Ultimate Spiderman Kirby's Epic yarn: a bit heavy for my taste, but I won't deny it, it looks stunning. Now if only it had better resolution... Donkey Kong Country Returns: Pretty derivative in my opinion Mario Kart Wii: sharp, but nothing impressive. Other M: Slipped my mind... yeah it looks good.

[QUOTE="0Hamburgher"]Lol this is starting to feel like a wii vs ps3 thread now. Wii: Has some great games, but they're buried under piles of crap shovelware. Xbox 360: has about a handful of good/unique games, most of them are forgotten. Usually if no one talks about a game on the xbox, its for good reason. PS3: Lots of great games too, but most gets a ton of recognition.0Hamburgher
I knew you were a Sony fanboy from the time I saw this post.
Shutup.
Who named themselves after the Wii?
Also
Wii: Most wii commercials on TV are for shovelware. Only on the internet will you see ads for good games
Xbox 360: only exclusives that most people care to play include Halo, Fable, and Gears of War. Othewise, a lot of people with and Xbox play Multiplats
Ps3: If you haven't heard of a ps3 exclusive, you probably shouldn't play it.

Lol. Don't get mad. I named myself after Wii because Nintendo is my favorite gaming company but I'm in no way a fanboy.
You proved your fanboyism again, according to you : Wii - shovelware, Xbox 360 - mostly multiplats, PS3 best of everything.
But in reality (outside of your little harcore fanboy world) :
Wii - Lots of great games (especially this year) and casual games (also known as shovelware to hardcores) for causals, lacks 3rd party support.
360 - good first party, best online, better versions of multiplats, I'll even put in Kinect because i think it has potential, durability sucked in the beginning
PS3 - lots of great first party, blu-ray, free online, a mere shadow of the PS2.
To be frank, I agree with this thread. The only people I know who take the Wii seriously as a gaming machine in real life are girls, moms, and poor kids. KHAndAnime
Might as well include DADS too. When I take a break from gaming on the PC, I usually game on the Wii.

Yes, it would have raised the price tag. Hence the reason, why it is considered more of a "child's toy", and not an "adult toy", and hence the reason why it's not in the same league as the hd consoles. And before I get attacked, I own a Wii with about twenty games that I bought new. It is not a gaming machine for people serious about gaming, albeit a nice complimentary system. It just doesn't have the bells and whistles as the others. Still, there is no excuse for it to not come with a DVD player in this day an age. You guys can try to justify it all you want. It's inexcusable. However, it does a have web browser. It gets points for that, but it too is still pretty rudimentary. And the games, while good at times, feel like they are missing something. Even games like metroid prime 3 and the other m, can't compete with the hd elite. I'm not bashing the WII, I'm just really disappointed with nintendo. Sure they did well for themselves, but at the expense of me, the gamer who adored them for 20 years. Older gamers who work and love gaming will pay the higher price tags for systems with multi functionalities. Kids just wanna play games. Adults want to play games, listen to music, watch blu rays, DVd's, etc. I have all three consoles, so I think I can make a fair analysis as a 32 year old gamer. I have a Xbox 360 and I barely play online or use it watch movies.
So what's this thread about again?
Like you said, it's just a gaming console, and a very good one at that. Why isn't that good enough for you? Need a DVD player? Use your computer, PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, Mac, standalone DVD players and Blu-Ray players. It's really cheap to watch DVDs. Why do you specifically need the Wii to play them? It's really not a big deal at all. Need Blu-Ray? Blu-Ray players are real cheap, or you could watch them on your computer (Blu-Ray drives are really cheap nowadays). Or maybe you even watch them on your PS3. Doesn't make the Wii any worse off. That's why it's a gaming console.
When I bought my Wii, I bought it to play games like New Super Mario Bros, Deadly Creatures, Legend of Zelda, and a lot of other great titles. It would be a nice extra if it had those features, but I don't see how it could possibly be a strike against it; it is, after all, a gaming machine, and a real fine one at that.
Oh yeah, Wii does have Netflix too, so it does have that at least.
Its funny how Nitendo lovers are the first to throw the word "fanboy" around, already many times during this thread. Yet they will back themselves into a corner and fight tooth and nail. It certainly isn't in the same league as either the 360 or ps3. All the major groundbreaking titles have come out on those 2 consoles IMO. They just have the horsepower to put out the graphics and game engines that cutting edge games require. The wii just isn't in the same ballpark at all. It's not that the wii doesn't have fun games, but it just doesn't play the ones that have moved gaming forward.

Lol, my bubble isn't burst because someone has an opinion different than mine. I find it funny that you are under that impression. Truth be told, many Nintendo fans around here don't know how to debate well but honestly, not many people here in general actually debate well :P The fact that you use the word serious gamer as some sort of defining feature for how good a system is speaks volume to why exactly people have a stereotype about gamers. guess what, if gaming is your passion its a great thing but being serious doesn't at all put you in some league beyond being casual. Having a legion of serious gamers says nothing about what the system provides, where its strengths are and where its weaknesses lie. All it does is put a really shallow perspective on how "serious" gamers think. So well done I guess :?
