It just means its not necessarily their call here. For example Muramasa almost ended up publisherless here, which would have sucked. If these games failed to reach sales expectations (which is what the articles suggests) then other publishers might not be so keen on localizing them. Not saying that's the case one way or another, but its a possibility.
_BlueDuck_
I doubt that all publishers are going to refuse them.
Yeah I know that. I'm just saying that Marvelous porting these over doesn't comfirm that they will bereleased outside of Japan.
Thank god PS3 is region free. Of course, this is really only useful for those with some knowledge of Japanese, but ...
Oh, and its funny that it mentions Rainy Woods because I was actually hoping that it was canceled. It looks terrible.
Out of all their games, Muramasa makes the most sense to port up. The others...not so much. They are trying to put their games on the HD consoles so they can get more sales, but I doubt that strategy is going to work. They make niche games, they aren't going to sell many games regardless of platforms. This could hurt them more than it can benefit them.

More sales are more sales are more sales.
The same/only thing Nintendo fans have been bragging about since the N64-era: Nintendo games. The day Nintendo loses Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Starfox, Pikmin, Mario Kart, Smash Brothers, etc, etc, ad nauseum etc, is the day Nintendo is in a bad spot.MEGATON COMETH!!!
If this eve happens, I wonder what would the sheep have left to brag about??

Sometimes good games don't sell, even if you switch consoles. Take Okami for example. It had dissapointing sales on PS2, then the same on Wii.
hakanakumono
The wii ver. wasn't ported by Capcom and has graphical issues.
yeah ok.. that totally held back the sales. Otherwise it would have been sales success... /sarcasm
Wii exclusives? Can you name one that has been really good? AAA?
atarigrad
No More Heroes was AAA. Beyond "very good". Beyond "great" even.
Little King's Story was also beyond "very good". It's "great".
^Using Gamespot reviews.
Muramasa, we'll have to see about when GS reviews it.
So 2 years down the road We'll see troll threads titled "lol, wii version looks better than ps360lololol" containing massive amounts of Crysis pics.

More sales wouldn't really help them much if they lost more money.

Madworld is the only I could think of. No more heroes? Didn't know it reviewed that well. thought it was AA
That's great that you don't like the Wii -- I don't either, but really now?[QUOTE="Stevo_the_gamer"]

Exclusives yes, Quality? ha....
Quality and wii shouldn't be said in the same sentense.....
All_that_is_Man
Guess which lists are lonely on the exclusive front, here I'll tell you: Xbox 360 and PS3.

no it's ok. just man up and admit you're wrong and a fanboy and we'll be on our way. even stevo was big enough to admit Wii has exclusives
Nintendo's third party woes continue to be their biggest hurdle. It doesn't seem to matter now, but it might become a problem again toward the end of this generation or the beginning of the next.
I called it! I made a thread not too long ago stating the Wii may lose its existing 3rd party exclusives and that it would happen more when the other motion controllers drop.
Anyway according to the HDfanboys, all Wii 3rd party games are crap anyway and would never be considered on the other consoles. So i guess its not really a loss then.
I think the wii needs some awesome exclusives before it can lose them
All_that_is_Man
Somebody hasn't seen Wii's 2009 lineup. Punch-Out, NSMB Wii, Little King's Story, Muramasa, Rune Factory: Frontier, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Wii Sports Resort, The Conduit, I can go on forever buddy. Just because you don't see any good exclusives doesn't mean others don't.

and we prefer variety and quality then generic qualityYup, thats smart. Sell it full price (as it should be, its a full game) on one console, and then release it for 20/30 bucks online on other systemsThey should put Muramasa on PSN/XBl.
Storm_Marine
It should be sarcasm. Muramasa uses traditional controls, Arc Rise Fantasia uses traditional controls, Little King Story uses traditional controls... so what the hell do you mean? Ah it was just fanboy drivel And lol at double standards, yeah i actually cant wait to see how well a Wii up-port will do. And how the "high-standard" princes of gaming look upon its presentation Its gonna be tragicaly hilarious.without the wii mote those games will be amazing, and no i'm not sarcastic
da_illest101
I wonder, in several gens from now if Nintendo will even bother with 3rd party. It just doesn't seem to work out for them.PS2_ROCKSYeah it's because gamers are all "durrrr faptech" and developers are all "durrrr nintendo makes more profit". And i am looking at this thinking "durrrr gamers = boring, developers = out of business".
Too bad it would probably be the end of suda >.> Orrrrr it would have to be a downloadable title. Could be.I'll admit, a No More Heroes port to PS3/360 would be pretty sweet.

Except I didn't think it should be retail in the first place. I think it would do far better as a downloadable game.

Because its 2D? Cuz if so, i'm done here.1)Problem is that these games won't sell on PS3 or 360. They are too niche for the PS3 and 360 audiences. If they bombed on Wii, they will bomb on the HD consoles. They're not shooters or sandbox.
2)Also, I don't see them being released outside Japan because of most Marvelous games are not even published by Marvelous in NA. They are either from XSEED (Arc Rise Fantasia and Little King's Story) or Ignition Entertainment for Muramasa. BTW, XSEED is not affiliated to Marvelous. If they can't bring them on Wii, why would Marvelous release them on the HD consoles?
I'm still going to get Muramasa in September, Arc Rise Fantasia in November and Little King's Story this July.

What about BlazBlue?[QUOTE="Storm_Marine"]

Well, there was Braid. But that wasn't full retail price. The Wii can't lose any of its awesome exclusives because they are all first party titles. Third party developers put their best stuff on the other two consoles.
sonicare
yup, nintendo can keep up with any other 3party with ease, they have always been holding their console with their bear hands
and besides only no more heroes and LKS are out o,o the rest isnt out outside of JP

If I dare ask, what exactly is the big deal with losing exclusives? All it means is that solo console owners get to enjoy more games. I wonder why everyone seems to be all "sour grapes" with exclusives and then claim ownage when those same exclusives get ported over.
The Wii already has more quality exclusives than the PS3 and X360 (combined) this year. :? The Hellghast march on top of those Wii exclusives :P[QUOTE="All_that_is_Man"]
