when you play complex control games you will need a ps3, or 360 controller.
This topic is locked from further discussion.
your still just using a controller though
so whats the point of flailing your arms around????
the ps3 did it right they give us the standard controller we love, and threw in motion tilting as a side thing and we can even turn it off if we dont like it, with the WII the whole gimmick is the basis of the console..
[QUOTE="web966"]Zelda has complex controls and it played great with the Wiimpte.Willy105
And it played BEST with the remote.
Yea with the gamecube remote. Played it on wii, couldnt stand it. it's just so freaking stupid.
Wii sports, oh my i can wave one hand. thats he ENTIRE gameplay.
warioware. put own remote, pick up. jump up and down. hmm I sure had a blast just jumping up and down. /rolls eyes

damn straight. Even GS said that the wii version is the best.Zelda has complex controls and it played great with the Wiimpte.web966
I completely disagree.
The controls felt tacked on. Especially during combat.
If it was such a gimmick, then why did the company that dominated for all of the past two gens throw it into there controller weeks before E3? Because they knew Nintendo had something with there pad.

hmm because they were in a law suit and couldn´t get rumble?

That isn't any justification to try and do something similar to the competition.

Compared to MGS1? No. Sad to see a PS1 game out-complex a current gen game.
Ironically enough the Wiimote actually makes some games MORE complicated thus making it more of a hardcore console then some would think.
(SSX Blur and Madden for example.)

I would describe MGS controls as "archaic" as opposed to "complex". Anyways, how complex is a game in which you cannot face a diagonal direction?

IMO Zelda for GC is better. Only thing better w/ the Wii one is 16:9 widescreen.
It's funny how the Wiimote is so hyped yet about half of all GS reviewed Wii games suffer from control issues.
Gamer556
the wii mote hasnt yet been utilised to its full potential. you do realize how hard it is for the devs to create games using the wii mote for the first time?
That's an opinion. Therefore this thread is worthless.ithilgore2006

By that logic, they could have thrown just about anything into the controller to replace the rumble. Why not just add some internal kittens for extra cuteness, then?

PLease tell me what is NOT complex about using motion to interact with a game. THEN tell me what you think is so complex about pushing buttons...which is all you do with other controllers.
Do you honestly think motion is less complex than pushing buttons? Do you think being able to physically interact with games is more dumbed down than pushing buttons?
It's funny how the Wiimote is so hyped yet about half of all GS reviewed Wii games suffer from control issues.

Because it's a whole new way to control. The industry hasn't gotten a hang of it yet, especially the launch games. In time, you will be able to do some pretty awesome stuff with it.

And FFX is a Final Fantasy dumbed down for casuals too right?
Stay on topic This is about Controlers not Games...and FFX was still fun so shut it
the wiimote has much deeper controls than the other controllers:
360 controller: 10 buttons (4 shoulder buttons, 4 more, start, select), 2 sticks, dpad
sixaxis: 10 buttons (4 shoulder buttons, 4 buttons, start, select), 2 sticks, dpad, and tilt
wiimote/nunchuck: 8/9 buttons (z, c, a, b, 1, 2, +, -, not sure if home button counts), d-pad, stick, full screen pointer, 2 360 degree tilt motion sensing controllers
so basically the sixaxis is better than the the 360 controller by the tilt.
the wiimote has 2 fewer buttons and one less stick. The 2 tilts are incredibly sensitive and can be used in many ways, and the cursor is such a wicked control method. it destroys sticks. Wii wins this battle easily.

But it will never be as precise as a mouse, or even a joystick, because there is nothing to rest the device on. Developer experience is not going to fix that.

You know the Wiimote isn't just a pointer right?

Actually Immersion had a patent lawsuit against Sony over the Rumble tech that prevented Sony from using rumble in their PS3 controller.I'm not arguing against them using rumble (I've known that Immersion thing since the news of the suits broke years ago), I'm arguing that saying that they added the tilt just to replace the rumble with anything is invalid.
