A lot of Wii jealousy and denial in this thread. People would be much better off if they just accept the fact that the Wii is the only true next gen machine and will easily outsell the others combined.

Plug1Plug2

How is the Wii the only true next gen gaming machine?  What games on the Wii speak true next gen gameplay?

The "tradition" was starting to get stagnant for me. Quite in fact, I wouldn't even find this generation as interesting as it is, without the Wii and what it brings to the table.

What exactly did the Wii bring to the table?

Fun? Beats the hell out of the 'same as last gen but with prettier graphics and some multimedia addons' that MS and Sony are offering. I've yet to see any game put out by either on their new systems that truly makes me want to jump ship from my PS2. Whereas I'm quite keen for a Wii. Though to be fair, a large part of that is to play VC and Gamecube games on it until some more big titles arrive.

[QUOTE="-The-G-Man-"]They're all true gaming machines.  The Wii happens to have something different to offer.  And I find it very funny how people still use the "Wii has no games!" excuse.  But I'm not going to post a long list of games to own you because you'll just ignore it anyway.  Nobody says you have to buy a Wii.  If you hate it so much, don't buy it.  You're not going to sway anyone's judgement with a fanboy rant.Spartanx23

The Wii just happens to have something different to offer??????  What's different about a Gamecube slaping motion controls onto the same games we played last gen, or for that matter the gen before!

You can honestly tell me that the Wii has games!  My brother got his Wii for Christmas and has 3 whole games!  Zelda TP, Wii Sports, and Red Steel, because we simply had to see if a FPS could work on this system.  Guess what?  It doesn't!  You can't make strides in gaming if you don't have better memory, and graphics horsepower!  The memory leads to the all important A.I., and graphics lend a huge hand to the immersion factor!

I'll be the first to admit that Zelda TOOT was great and I was completely immersed and invovled in the story, but games ahve changed since mutliple generations ago, so wake up and smell the coffee!!!!

This Wii is nothing but garbage and the only other games that will ever be worth puchasing will once again come from Nintendo.  That's roughly 6-8 more games I'm thinkingm before the Wii is totally useless.

Stop calling it a GC. That dosen't even make sense. Can't you pathetic fanboys come up with anything original for once? :| On another note, good for your brother. I have 6 Wii games if you don't count VC. How many 360 games do you have?

I gotta agree with the OP I really dislike Nintendo for making the Wii. Their basically making fools of people selling a overprice GC with motion sensing and they don't lose money on their console not willing to take the hit for the customer like Sony or MS if your going to sell me a overprice GC at least only make it 50$.

This is like Nintendo proving most peoples are idiots they basically said look we can sell people crap and they will buy it if their a gimmick to it. The games are shallow short fast pace games ment to take your money make you laugh for a few hours and then you never play them again. This could hurt gaming in ALOT of ways think of it like this what if next-gen the consoles don't upgrade their graphics/AI instead its all the same as this gen but with lets say MS gives you VR goggles with their console, Sony builds their console around the Eyetoy cam. Devs will love it like they love the Wii since they can make games cheaply with no new tech and they can make half-a#% gimmick games like they are doing for the Wii.

I don't know about some of you but I like new graphics and I love better A.I. I mean look at the difference between the first MGS AI and then the newer ones its a world of difference.

Kimahriii

Will we see new enemies and be thrown into bigger more beautifull worlds with Mario Galaxy?  Nope!  Why?  Because theres not enough processing power to deliver the next true Mario platformer.  Instead we get Mario Sunshine, but with a new gimmick, which lets us point at the screen.  Oh my!!!!!!!  Truely next gen Nintendo.  Same enemies, same graphics, same game.

A Mario game produced on the Xbox 360 would be able to open up new doors and more possibilities.  Bigger worlds with brilliant graphics, and better A.I..

The wii is also a "true" gaming machine.. whats your point. It doesnt have only 4 games, it has much more - you have to look at the big picture.

All systems will deliever well on the games front this year.

Who really cares which console sells the most? I don't care at all. All I want is to play good games. Why get mad at Nintendo (which doesn't make its own games. Lol.) or other companies because they are succeeding? These kinds of posts are just the most pointless things ever...

I'm sorry, but the fact that you called the next-gen Sonic game the best in the series really makes you lose all credibility, in my eyes. And there was actually a Sonic Adventure 2, also released on the Dreamcast, for the record.

Dude its all about preference.  Quite frankly the price tag puts the wii in a nice position compared to the the ps3 and 360.  Plus the new controller is amazing.  Have you played Warioware, Wii sports, and even Tiger Woods on the Wii.  Tiger is just more fun on the wii cause you feel like you are actually golfing in the game instead of just using a joystick which to me seems last gen now.  I'm addicted to Tiger on the Wii.  Just because the ps3 and 360 can output far better visuals than the wii doesn't make the wii inferior.  The wii sacrifices graphics and makes better gameplay.  I might just get Tiger on the Wii for now on because i like the controller for it.  I have a feeling that the wii is just a test to see if the wiimote will be a success or not.  I think nintendo is setting us up for a monster console with amazing visuals and the motion sensing controls that are currently on the wii.

You know, when you compare the "real game consoles", you use specs.  But when you're comparing a "real game console" to the Wii, specs don't matter in the least.  It's a Gamecube, regardless if the specs prove otherwise.

The PS3 doesn't have too much to speak of, either.  Right now the Wii has Monkey Ball, Rayman, Zelda, Paper Mario, Wii Sports, Trauma Center, and WarioWare.  And Red Steel was a crappy game.  I don't see how you can judge an entire genre on a system when all the games that have come out for the genre happen to suck.  Red Steel is bad no matter which way you slice it.  Putting it on the PS3 or 360 wouldn't have changed that.  FarCry is just utter garbage and Call of Duty 3 is half-decent, but it's a port.

Zelda TP is different than OoT, believe it or not.  It may feel overly familiar, but it is different.

The Wii is just a GC with a new controller? Think again... According to the specs, the Wii is about 3x more powerful than the Cube. If one will recall, the devs didn't use the GCs max power until the end of it's life; this will not be the case with the Wii because it is much more popular than the GC ever was. Not only is the Wii more powerful, but it includes internet browsing, news channel, weather channel, Virtual Console, photo channel, and the ability to create a virtual self as a Mii. I'm pretty sure the GC didn't boast any of these feature.

I could eleborate the hell out of this...... But I won't....... Anyway, what did they bring? Something different from what the other two consoles are doing (Should we really need a third?), providing an alternative to high development costs and high costs to consumers; following an actual different main point of progression, from what has been the main progression in gaming for every single generation in existence. Of course that does not mean that they have left that side of progression to the side, because they have not, it's just not their primary focus this gen.

I dont care if the Wii smokes the 360 or PS3 as long as it doesn't effect the great games coming out on those systems.

I can see why people like the Wii even though that is not my thing. But I don't want the industry to be turned into a bunch party games.  I want games that are going to push the graphics harder and harder with larger budgets.

Basically the Wii is free to do its own thing, as long as it doesn't effect the other genres  of games

Has there been one M rated game on the Wii yet??? I know RE 4 is coming down the line

There's also gonna be No More Heroes, Manhunt 2, and a joint project between Goichi Suda and Hideo Kojima (which'll probably be M, but don't quote me on that) off the top of my head. Developers are starting to take a real interest in the Wii though, so who knows what might be annouced at E3....

Face it, there are a lot more people who would rather play wii sports than halo. The wii has proven video games can reach a broader audience, and no one is keeping you from your fps.

This Wii craze is making me sick.  When I think of sweet games that I want from the Wii, the only ones that come to mind are Mario Galaxy, Zelda TP, Metroid 3, SSBM, and...?!  And what?!  4 freaking games!  There are no games for this system!  There are no cutting edge graphics!  This isn't an evolution in gameplay, and don't bring up remakes or spinoffs, because the Wii's game lineup is utter garbage!

Wii sports is a fun game, and I've played it to death, but the only other game I can stand is Zelda TP.  Why?  It's Zelda, that's why, but I admitedly would rather have played that game on the Cube.  Same goes for the others.

Meanwhile nobody wants to pick up a PS3, because it's to expensive.:(  Go get a job, and save gaming!  Why nobody can spend the extra $150 to get a 360 is beyond me.  Let alone the fact that they can pick up a core for $50 more.

The 360 and PS3 are about to hit their full stride going into 2008.  Although I hate Sony's online it doesn't matter, because at the end of the day both the 360 and PS3 out perform the Wii.  The 360 simply has online mastered to the fullest and it just keeps getting better.  Now how about some sweet games!  The Wii has next to nothing compared to the 360 and PS3.

This is system wars, and the PS3 and 360 controll it.  The Wii should never even be mentioned here, because of its inferiority.  The games that the 360 and PS3 have are on a whole nother level!  Halo 3, Motorstorm, Dirt, Too Human, MGS4, GTA4, Kane & Lynch, Mass Effect, Alan Wake, Brothers In Arms 3, Call Of Duty 4, Battlefield Bad Company, Gran Turismo 5, Burnout 5, Resident Evil 5, Forza 2, Bioshock, Half Life 2 Orange, Blue Dragon, Assassins Creed, Oblivion, Heavenly Sword, Lair, Fable 2, Rainbow Six Vegas, Sega Rally Revo, Project Gothem Racing 4, All Pro Football 2K8, NBA 2K8, Lost Planet, The Club, The Darkness, Virtua Fighter 5, Stranglehold, Drakes Fortune, FF13, Viva Pinata, Crackdown, Gears Of War, Killzone PS3, and the list goes on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Better games on next gen systems, and yet here Wii are.:|  That stupid system is on a selling spree and everybody's happy.:)  Everybody's like; yah go Nintendo, or It's good to see Nintendo dominating again! I say no.  This dumb Wii rediculousness is out of control.  What's the point of putting motion sensing controls into every single gaming genre?  All of the sudden this makes games better?  Why Sony jumped on Nintendo's bandwagon I'll never know, because they didn't need Six-Axis.  They just need six games worth playing right now, and thier focus got all out of wack.

Microsoft needs the Elite to be a hit, and Sony needs someone to buy that Playfreakingstation 3!  I knew the would sell like nobody's business at $250 clams, but why in heavens name can't the other machines move more than they are?  The 360 has tons of games, so I don't see peoples excuse one way or the other.  The PS3 will hit it's stride come Christmas, and I better see some price cuts, so that these cheapo's can start to help out the Hardcore Gamers!!!  Not hold them back.

I don't want to play games with grandma!:|  I want to play HD games like Halo 3 online or Lan, and I want the latest and greatest hardware being pushed to the limits!  Thanks for the rehashed games on last gen hardware Nintendo.  Way to hold gaming back.

Jeez, there are too many haters on this thread bashing the TC. I agree with him/her. The Wii is a gimmick and once people realize that it still doesn't make games more fun to play, they won't buy it...hopefully.

Its sad, for you, that you're only hope to win this "war" is a baseless, opinionated hypothesis based on someone elses biased ideas about something.

Spartanx23

YES! I agree 100% I like seeing nintendo doing good don´t want them to leave the scene or anything but the wii is really dissapointing... remember the n64 =o they lost it this gen

Isn´t there a union we can join? Burn the wii xD it´s so cheap we it´s probably not even considered a crime! =o

Actually, whats happening with the Wii is a great thing for the industry. Because of innovations and fat people are finally getting off their lazy butts and are actually MOVING for a change. :|

Can people please stop saying the wii is innovative, its NOT!!!. Its not innovative at all, the controller doesn't bring anything whatsoever extra to games. The wii has a different controller, what the hell is so innovative about that? The wii is weeeeeeaaaaaaaaaak. I actually just called gamecrazy today, they will give me 145 trade in for mine, but I think I am going to check ebay, maybe I can do better there. My new toaster is more innovative then the wii.

Good grammar, well formed post.  This guy's rant is smart.

And I share his views.  The tradiiton of games has to remain strong.  Don't need Nintendo bringing us back in the days where we are playing Jenga and Monopoly with family.

Jeez, there are too many haters on this thread bashing the TC. I agree with him/her. The Wii is a gimmick and once people realize that it still doesn't make games more fun to play, they won't buy it...hopefully.
Tungsten88

WHAT???? Why would you hope a console does not sell?  The only possible valid explanation for that concept is, uh, maybe it is outselling your overpriced console and you are a wii bit jealous.

C'mon, this is a joke.  Kill the wii.... it is the reason PS3 sux.  That is the lamest thing I have ever read in here.

Yeah, let's embrace over-priced and over-rated technology made by money-grubbing mega corporations over cheaper yet innovative and enjoyable technology made by a company that's prime focus is actually gaming! What's Nintendo ever done for the game industry apart from recovering it from the great console crash of '83, make some of the best franchises of all time, and some of the best consoles of all time (NES/SNES)? I'm personally happy that Nintendo's making a comeback, though they probably deserved to be last for a while for shafting Sony so badly back in the day.

lol, that's a good one. I'll have to remember that

if thier prime focus is gameing then what the f**k happened to thier online game plan. seriously alot of people want online multiplayer gameing with all its inovation it took a step backwards in that feild. virtual console is great and i love it but they need online multiplayer and a friends list, and games that really apeal to everyone. that includes great fighters great shooters and great raceing games. nintendo is acutally going to ruin gameing. the wii is like the avirl lavgine or backstreet boys of gameing.

Hey, I have all the money in the world for gaming but I bought a Wii because it offered something I wanted in gaming... SOMETHING NEW.

If you don't want the games for Wii, than tough, cuz with Wii on a selling spree... nobodies gonna want to develop for 360 or PS3.

And what about games like No more heros? or Disaster? or Battalion Wars? or many of the other games you're simply glossing over? Some of the games you listed for PS3 or 360 are either unproven (example mass effect) or suck (example Motorstorm). So stop speaking like what you say is the gosple.

Their online is coming so be patient. Remember, the Japanese (where Nintendo is based) are practically scared of online... its coming, and they can always do a firmware update to get rid of friend codes.

I'm sorry, but the fact that you called the next-gen Sonic game the best in the series really makes you lose all credibility, in my eyes. And there was actually a Sonic Adventure 2, also released on the Dreamcast, for the record.

I think you missed the point.  Well, most people do.  My review is supposed to be a joke, but most miss that.  Take a look at my collection please, and then see if you take my review seriously.  A few people call me out from time to time.  I think it's funny.:)

Sonic Adventure was actually pretty tight, but Adventure 2 was, well... not so good.:(

The "tradition" was starting to get stagnant for me. Quite in fact, I wouldn't even find this generation as interesting as it is, without the Wii and what it brings to the table.

What exactly did the Wii bring to the table?

I could eleborate the hell out of this...... But I won't....... Anyway, what did they bring? Something different from what the other two consoles are doing (Should we really need a third?), providing an alternative to high development costs and high costs to consumers; following an actual different main point of progression, from what has been the main progression in gaming for every single generation in existence. Of course that does not mean that they have left that side of progression to the side, because they have not, it's just not their primary focus this gen.

Please do elaborate.:)  Do we need a third?  Heck yes we do!  I love Nintendo first party a lot, and I would love to see what kind of amazing games can be made with higher end tech!  You bet I want a powerfull Nintendo console and not some gimmick to get the whole family involved in gaming.

Zelda TP could have been so unbelievable if given the chance, but true to form, it has TOOT written all over it.  How about Super Smash Bros Brawl, Metriod 3 and Super Mario Kart with blazing graphics, animation, A.I., and sweet online play????  How about that people.  Yet, here I see so many ready to fork over another $250 for the same machine, and same games.

Well that's not cool with me, and apparently this board is full of casual Nintendo fans who settle for the same ol, same ol.  That's not next gen!  That's not pushing the envolope!  It's called playing with peoples emotions, and selling them a product they think changed gaming forever.

Now companies such as EA can cheaply throw port, after port, after port, and make a quick but off of old hardware.

I don't think it will make much difference how well the Wii does. There will always be a market for higher end games. PC gaming isn't the most mainstream and yet it still manages to have some of the highest quality games. So just play what you want and let the Wii fans play what they want.

[QUOTE="Spartanx23"]

You complain about remakes and spinoffs. You see all those numbers bolded........they say remakes and spinoffs.

How about I correct you.:)  I just didn't want someone to include RE4 as being a great Wii title, because it is simply a remake!!!!  NONE of the titles I listed are remakes or spinoffs.  They are different games!  RE4=remake for the Wii.  Halo Wars=spinoff.

Most, if not all of the games I listed will have better gameplay on the 360 and PS3.  Not gimmick play, which will be mostly sloppy/glitchy with that Wii-mote!  Good day.:)

Spartanx23, I agree with just about everythiing you said. Personally, I don't think the Wii deserves the level of sales it's enjoying right now. But things might change for the better in the future (in the quality of its games, that is).

Not paying attention I see.:| But if you were, you would see that this is the whole argument!  The Wii is holding gaming back!  Same games with the gimmick twist.  RE4 anybody?

Sony may as well release the Six-Axis for the PS2 and resell all there games, just so that they can utilize a new gimmick.  But that's not what they did, and I don't agree with the BD player, because it hurts the price.  However, the PS3 like the 360, is a true next gen machine, which will give us next gen games!

No matter how hard you push the Wii, you won't see a game of the year title. Never!  That machine can't produce a next gen experience, but it can produce a different one.  To me, that's not what this industry is about!

We move onto 360 and PS3 for games like Forza 2, MGS4, Halo 3, Bioshock, Gears Of War, and NBA 2K8, because we want to be wowed!!!  It takes blazing hardware to make those wow moments happen.  It takes memory to produce the amazing battles we'll encounter in Halo 3 and Killzone!  It takes next gen hardware to make the most realistic, hard hitting, great playing next gen sports games, such as APF 2K8/NBA 2K8.

The Wii can't make any of that happen.  There's the argumant, so deal!:)

You realize that half of the games you listed were sequels as well? Self-owned.IAmRodyle

Oh, please go ahead and show me where I wrote sequel?  Must have to do with a reading and comprehension level I suppose.:|

I said remakes and spinoffs!!!!!!  None of the 360/PS3 games I listed are either, but if your still confused on the matter here's an example of each.:)

A spinoff would be Halo Wars, which comes from none other than Halo.

A remake would be RE4, which comes from the same exact game that was released on the Gamecube.

A sequel is, well, Halo 2, which comes from Halo.

Class dismissed!:)

Oh your upset? I'm so sorry! Let me call Nintendo and have them stop making a product destined to net them billions of dollars in profits, all because your cuddly wuddly little 360 and PS3 are having their ***es beaten by a revamped gamecube with a motion sensitive stick. Sorry but graphics, AI, and physics dont mean squat to most people. They buy what they find fun.

Click on the Avatar.

I'm sorry but looking at your profile, did you just rate Sonic 360 AA?
