Funny how hermits are always the first to jump into graphic king threads saying they are dumb and just shouldn't be made. Now here they are starting up new threads.
thats because console graphics threads are nearly pointless due to the restrictions of the consoles hardware making most games almost identical.Funny how hermits are always the first to jump into graphic king threads saying they are dumb and just shouldn't be made. whereas pc graphics can be a lot more varied.
i dont remember saying anything like that.hmm am i having split personality? nope my posts history shows i didnt post anything like that. Any way onto topic, is witcher 2 dx9 only? Or does it have dx10?Funny how hermits are always the first to jump into graphic king threads saying they are dumb and just shouldn't be made. Now here they are starting up new threads.

To be fair, it's not like PC games are really flexing their muscles. They seem to have the same sort of restrictions as consoles, not becasue of hardware, but becasue of software.

I heared that witcher 2 dethrones crysis in graphics.is it true? What do you think has better graphics crysis or witcher 2?anandmw2
To me crysis 1 is still king. But TW2 looks unbelievable. It looks realistic but not too real at the same time which is key to keeping its fantasy look. It does some things with dx10 that normally you only see in Dx11. Such as the terrain and geometry look really good and it is very very consistently beautiful
Edit: wait its only Dx9??? then its even more impressive
Not even by close........Crysis 2 is the graphics king.Witcher 2 it is not even look better than Crysis 1.AtariKidXcrysis 2 doesn't look better than crysis 1 :P

Crysis 1 is better technically. Haven't blown up a house in the Witcher 2 yet.

To be frank that is a overblown feature.. The only destructable buildings there are, are just flimsy ass shacks.. You can't destroy the trailers, you can't destroy bunkers, you can't destroy any concrete buildings, or any of the warehouses....
I didn't blow up a house in Crysis either.Crysis 1 is better technically. Haven't blown up a house in the Witcher 2 yet.

Nope but Hermits are going to say it beats Crysis 2 because its multiplat but not crysis since its PC exclusive and there graphic god.

It constantly amazes me that people tout that feature as something amazing, as far as I can tell it's super basic and if you wanted you could easily set up a similar effect in the Unreal Engine no problem.[QUOTE="sSubZerOo"][QUOTE="Barbariser"]

People tout it as impressive because Crysis actually does it, you definatly can do the same thing or much better destruction in Unreal, just like you could do much better destruction in Cryengine 2 as well. The thing is that the little houses made of constraints are actually in the game and are pretty sweet to mess with and how it interacts with gameplay.Crysis vanilla can look ugly at times, let's be honest. I never had that problem with Witcher 2 besides a low poly NPC model, everything looks amazing.
[QUOTE="Cranler"]Crysis has bad textures here and there. Ha, indeed. Don't make me whip out my ugly Crysis screens again.crysis has no weak spots like tw2 with its awful shadows

I can do the same as well, I got them ready.:twisted:Crysis vanilla can look ugly at times, let's be honest. crysis is still technically better.... even though i still find the art in TW2 to be far superior. Never have liked this comparing graphics with technical terms.
Crysis 1 is better technically. Haven't blown up a house in the Witcher 2 yet.

That's physics, not graphics -.-, and it's something you could do since hl2, not even vaguely impressive. (tw2 could do that if you made one of those stupid shacks too)
Tech = Crysis
Art = TW2
TW2 will age better, and the shadows are cleened up a bit with supersampling, and the game looks much better in motion than in a screenshot, would be nice if the shadows did just look better though...
Well, TW2 flat out beats Crysis 2, but as for Crysis 1 I'd say they are tied.Zero5000X
Technically: Crysis>>>>>Witcher 2>Crysis 2
Artistically: Witcher 2>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>everything else>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Crysis 2>Crysis
Overall: Crysis=Witcher2>Crysis 2

He has a point there. Blowing up a lot of stuff does not mean a game is a graphics power house. I can smash just about every thing in Super Mario Bros and that game wasn't much of a looker even during it's time. We are comparing which one looks better, not what we can do in the game. Plus the Witcher is not going to go drive around in a tank and fire missiles into houses.
[QUOTE="sleepingzzz"]Do you know the TC as a hermit? No kidding, the TC has 13 posts when I write this. How can he already be considered a hermit? Some logic just escapes people no matter how bold and in-your-face it is.Funny how hermits are always the first to jump into graphic king threads saying they are dumb and just shouldn't be made.
