Sorry, but a game like witcher need to be play in 1080p.

And mems swore it wasn't possible. CD Projekt Red contradicts themselves about about how easy it is to program for Xflop, but Microsoft probably paid for that. This also makes Ubisoft look even more incompetent. Settings on both consoles equal to "High" on PC.
Better than expected...
As expected, on PlayStation 4 Witcher 3 outputs at 1080p resolution.
"It's just a slightly more powerful machine," Mamais said. "That's pretty known. But I think in the longer run everything is going to be on both platforms running at 1080p. It's just taking developers longer to do it than they expected because the architecture is a little more challenging on the Xbox One.
"It's actually easier to develop for Xbox One for us because we're PC developers. So everything we do on PC is for DirectX 11. And Xbox is also based on DX. So for the rendering side it's a more natural progression for us to go to Xbox.
"But we anticipate being able to do 1080p on PS4 a little bit easier than on the Xbox."
No surprise as he said its pretty known. He, a developer, not forumite, also said "SLIGHTLY more powerful machine". Going to take his word over the "massive gap in power" comments you get from fanboys. In the end, I have witcher 1&2 on Steam, so I'm going PC for 3 anyway.
Nope . He never said that the game is 1080p on any console . Both consoles are running the game on 900p ATM and won't look nearly as good as PC on highest settings . He said , they will work hard to achieve higher resolution , which will be easier on PS4 but not guaranteed .
Where does it say 900p on the X1? Saying its got more "challenging" architecture on the X1 yet its easier to develop for? Wut.
DX11. PS4 as a bigger power output, but the architecture of the xbox is more PC like, so easier to work with.
Also, i guess that confirms that the E3 xbox conference show was running on xbox1.
THE coding for xbox is more like PC not the hardware architecture.
the e3 trailer was 100% not xbox footage, almost certainly pc.
Nope. Xbox1 at 900p during conference confirmed.
I don't think it was.
I think it was running on PC and they are trying to pass it off as the X1 version because they are trying to sell the game... Almost all the developer's when asked what console it was running on for games like Batman, FarCry 4, Dragon Age... Paused and said PC.
Also all their live demo's where running on PC's:
The version that was running at Micro$oft's conference was Xbox One version . Later , they demoed the game on PC at IGN and Gamespot's booth (and their business booth) . The picture that you showed here is from gamespot's demo which was confirmed to be on PC and looked a lot better.
Cows having to make up their own headlines these days to make themselves feel superior lol
only high settings at 30fps im guessing.
PC version it is.
Still better than 900p / 30 fps
PC version that is but if i had to choose which version to buy for a console considering i would spend the very same amount of money .. PS4 version easily
They said the same about Xbox 360 version of Witcher 2 that it'll be running at medium settings and even advertised it that way by showing PC footage but real game looked way worse than Lowest settings on PC .
So I'll wait and see actual comparisons . But I don't care , since I'll be getting it on PC and will be importing saves from first two games in it .
who cares how xboned is running the game, im happy ps4 is handling the game in 1080p which was supposed to be 900p originally. Still getting the game for pc but i don't know how much 2500k/gtx570 will handle it... better than consoles for sure tho lol

Fair enough.
Anyway, i'll wait until a proper test, most likely by Digital Foundry, in terms fo fps, res, and textures. Hardline was suppose to be 1080p, and they found out it's closer to 900p on the PS4. Beta, but still.
Cows don't want to admit that even in most games even if the PS4 version is 1080p the Xbox One version mostly looks slightly better because the PS4 has shown many times that the PS4 version has a more washed out texture look so what good is 1080p when the Xbox One version have slightly better looking textures anyway.
Cows are a funny bread to watch.
Cows - I played witcher 2 on my gaming PC, lol xbox 360 version.
Cows now - I'll play witcher 3 on my PS4 - lol PC
tossers
lol french revolution.
lol now internet.
stop playing halo.
does your brain hurt?
No, just making a point about evolution of generations.
What the hell happened to gamespot recently? Kept coming on but the site was like broke lol.
OT: Standard occurrence ;P
Sorry, but a game like witcher need to be play in 1080p.
So i assume you've played the Witcher 1 and 2, on pc obviously, and will be playing 3 on PC, correct? Just checking.

I'll play it like a true gamer, on all systems.
Another Sony based title and another dev that will take advantage of dat June SDK.
1080p incoming.
How is it a Sony based title when CD Projekt Red is clearly working with Microsoft? As far that update I think it depends on the game. For Destiny it means 1080p, but for Sunset Overdrive it was just more particle effects.
Kuu2 doesn't like to admit it, but sometimes he's clueless when he's in damage control mode.
Wish developers dumped DirectX for OpenGL and mantle, would be much easier to port.
the problem with that is open GL is a mess right now. There is so much legacy code in it that needs to be cleaned up and since its open source nobody really wants to do that. and the longer it goes, the worse it gets. It would be optimal if everyone just used directX since it better funded and managed and most of the top engines like UE4 and Frostbite and Cryengine are all optimized for direct X as well
@StrongBlackVine: 900p is not They say right in the article they are going to try and get it to 1080p.
Cows...
They are going to TRY. It is already running at 1080p on PS4 and therefore the title is accurate.
where does it say that?
"But we anticipate being able to do 1080p on PS4 a little bit easier than on the Xbox."
That doesn't mean it is already running at 1080p
cow logic. interpret things how you want no matter how far off reality and don't worry cause another 20 cows will stampede in and support you.

and what about all those multiplatform games that run better, look better and on top of that have more graphical effects included? Hard to tell who types out joke posts now when people can't tell the difference say between blur and depth of field. Makes me think of that lolworthy thread that GravityX kid made(you're new so you should check it out) and even included the screen shot of both where Xbone wasn't blurred but the Ps4 was but it was in the background...it was depth of field, he even snagged it off the Digital Foundry that stated as such, fucking lol.
@musicalmac: That's modern power consumption and thermal limits for you...
Have you seen the iMac I'm referring to? It's incredibly thin and powerful and has (I think) only a single fan -- that is barely audible when I'm pushing the computer as hard as I can. I would question the engineering prowess of the folks at MS and at Sony. But I don't know. I'm just a forumite.

It's matter of opinion but to me and to most a game that has better looking textures vs a game that has more washed out looking tetures looks better to me and most agree. After all textures is basically the game graphics. So sure if you want to say well the PS4 has slightly less clipping issues or stuff like that but the bottom line is the texture in the game level or character models is what display the game basically. And in a lot of cases the Xbox One has proven to have the sharper looking textures vs the more washed out looking textures on the PS4 version. Sure the PS4 might have a tad better AA because it's slightly higher resolution but with the new June SDK update on Xbox One that's going to close that gap most of the time moving forward with most Xbox One game being a min 900p and most of them 1080p.
@StrongBlackVine: Looks like it will be 1080P on the XBox One as well before it's released. They haven't even touched the new XB1 SDK. Once they do that, it'll be 1080P.
"Meanwhile, Mamais confirmed that the version of Witcher 3 shown during Microsoft's E3 press conference was indeed running on an Xbox One at 900p resolution and 30 frames per second.
It looked pretty good to our eyes, but Mamais insisted it will end up looking even better by the time development is finished for Witcher 3's February 2015 release date.
This month Microsoft updated the Xbox Development Kit (XDK) so games that are not using skeletal tracking with Kinect can choose to use the portion of the Xbox One's graphics processing unit that was previously reserved. Now, games have access to 100 per cent of the Xbox One GPU for increased resolution and graphical effects.
Mamais said CD Projekt had yet to take the new XDK out for a spin, but it will, as Witcher 3 does not use Kinect motion.
Witcher 3 does support voice control via Kinect for magic signs so players need not access the radial menu. But as Eurogamer reported yesterday, voice control remains in use if players have a Kinect despite the Xbox One update.
The voice command side doesn't tap into the GPU side at all, so we can still have Kinect," Mamais said."
Lems need to stop lying to themselves, X1 games will not look better than PS4 games because of hardware limitations and no matter what SDK or DX12 does it won't be able to close the gap. The same goes for the dumbest of all Cows, PS4 games will NEVER EVER look better than PC games( including UC4).
I never play multiplats if I can help it on consoles when there's a pc option. But it's nice to see Xbone struggling once again.
Dat cloud never came.
the e3 trailer was 100% not xbox footage, almost certainly pc.
So you're saying the developers who are making the game and demoed it at M$ conference is lying?

The gap is already starting to close between PS4 and XB1 You're too blind to see it.
I agree that PS4 and XB1 games won't look as good as PC's. Why? Because PC's will consistantly get better GPU, CPU and better RAM and be able to upgrade and make ALL these games run at higher resolution and faster fps. It's a given. PS4 and XB1 will never get upgrades that will equal what the PC gets in the next 2-3 years. It's just not going to happen.
This topic is hilarious and just shows even further how insecure Cows are about the Xbox One not only having more and better first party exclusives but now with developers getting more time with the ESRAM and with the SDK dev kit the Cows are just grasping at straws now.
He clearly stated they are easily running at 900p on Xbox One he said EASILY and this is before they have taken the new SDK kit for s spin this is his exact words. Yet Cows showing their desperation and insecurity as normal.

Even now a single GPU high end PC destroys either console even when combined.
Even a 4 year old Oced GTX 480 can perform better than a PS4 or Xbox One.
So consoles were annihilated at release unlike last gen.
The Nvidia Maxwell series will further widen the gap.
@mems_1224: You got owned so sit your ass down! Less than a week ago swore it would not be 1080p on PS4. We know PC will have the best version so don't try to move the goalposts now.

Well Ryse and Quantum Break are already visually better looking then many of the PS4 games. Infamous SS is still king for now, but we know there will be better looking games on both systems before this generation is over. With each software tool update Microsoft adds to the XB1, the gap will close further and further.

I wasn't disagreeing. lol!! This is why I don't compare PC's with game consoles. Now if we could upgrade game consoles like you can with PC's, then we can do some comparisons.

How did you pull 900p out of your ass with that article?
That's right. It's your thread. Carry on.
@Heil68: no. Parity is ending in 2014. There was never a huge difference anyway.
Well it's safe to say there are plenty of games out right now where there is a very real and measurable difference.
Old non-optimized engines are old?
