This was from a interview that dualshockers conducted

: Youre at the forefront of the adoption of the next generation consoles. Are you already working on the devkits? What are your impressions of the Xbox One and PS4? Are there any marked differences in horsepower between the two?

K: Yes, weve been working on Microsoft and Sony-provided devkits for some time now, well before the consoles were officially presented. As for the differences between the two both are very potent pieces of hardware and developing games on them is a pleasure.

G: Will the game look any different on different platforms or youre aiming to make it look the same? Can gamers with high-end PCs expect better visual fidelity at maximum settings like for The Witcher 2?

K: Were aiming to deliver the same experience on all the platforms were developing The Witcher 3 on next gen platforms so visual cutbacks will not be the case here. Eyecandy for everyone!

More things about witcher 3 are talked about in this interview.

The stealth sections from the witcher 2 are not in this gone.

I bet it will have minor visual cutbacks anyway, but it won't hurt the game that much.

They're probably just wanting to encourage sales from non-PC gamers. I'm not saying they're lying but it makes more sense to insist there will be no cutbacks rather than admit there will be some (even if minor). It'll be a great game on all systems regardless though.

Indirect way of saying the design mentality has been consolized?

I dunno if that has as much of a negative connotation as it once did....

They shouldn't need any cutbacks, aside from it not being at 60fps and 1080p. Would be VERY impressed if they could achieve that though.

Its hard to believe this especially on X1. How will a 7770 handle TW3 maxed when it can't handle TW2? Even on ps4 i expect at least anti aliasing to be worst

Veeery excited for this one! :D

I've never played a Witcher game though :-/

This is supposed to be the last chapter in the story (from what I've heard). So I hope they have a pretty amazing recap video since they're only releasing TW3 and not 2 or 1 on next gen consoles.

In terms of asset quality I doubt it, but the console version will most likely only hit 1080p and 30 fps. But for me thats fine .

I just find it strange that Nvidia is letting AMD powered consoles use its GPU accelerated PhyX technology yet actively go out of their way to screw over AMD GPU owners on the PC.

if this doesn't take advantage of my hardware than I will just skip it.Will I be getting near 100fps like in battlefield3?  With that being said, when someone says compared to PC- what exactly do they mean? Comparable to similar spec machines?  How can someone lump 780's/690's/titans/7990's,7970's in with Integrated graphics?

Because if devs pay for it its free $$$$$$

Its a way for them to get there name on next gen console games eventhough the didnt do the hardware.

Phys-x always was compatible with amd systems, just not on the gpu. The Cpu handles the phys-x. That is why phys-x sucks on amd systems, no gpu acceleration. The article is basically saying this very thing.

Well AMD does that that TressFX thing. Nvidia just bought that PhyX stuff then refused to let AMD play with it.

Considering that most PC gamers who play The Witcher games have pretty beefy rigs, I'd say you're wrong.  Even if that were true by percentages, there is nothing stopping the devs from putting in some higher quality assets for high-end PC hardware.  That's why we have "settings" in PC games.  A novel idea.

And the console version will be equivelent to its max settings, sorry that hurts your feelings. You know why? Becasue an engine is only scaleable to a point and if you jack the assets up high enough lower end pc's will not be able to play the game thus eliminating mroe then half your market. And thsoe pc gamers that have beefy rigs also tend to forget to pay for there games.

Nah. At the very least you will be able to raise the res and do some tweaks to upgrade above what consoles have, even if the Nvidia tech will make it consoles (which I doubt)

That said, graphics aren't really the reason why PC version of Witcher 3 will be the definitive one.

well as i said on the previous generation developers make these games "better" on pc to make you loudmouth pc fans happy cause youll cry on the internet if they dont but all the while youll never be able to run killzone shadow fall or even killzone 2 and 3 or any other ps3/4 exclusive at a higher spec than ps3 and 4 so sad

[QUOTE="consoletroll"][QUOTE="clyde46"] I just find it strange that Nvidia is letting AMD powered consoles use its GPU accelerated Phys-X technology yet actively go out of their way to screw over AMD GPU owners on the PC.clyde46
Phys-x always was compatible with amd systems, just not on the gpu. The Cpu handles the phys-x. That is why phys-x sucks on amd systems, no gpu acceleration. The article is basically saying this very thing.

I thought Nvidia purposely gimped it to run poorly on CPU's?

more like not even trying to optimize it for cpu use.  I mean, if you have a really high end cpu, you can brute force it many times...borderlands 2 and mafia come to mind, where AMD gpu systems can run it well.  Not as good as an nvidia gpu doing the work, but it runs.Â
