X1 doesn't have 7770.Its hard to believe this especially on X1. How will a 7770 handle TW3 maxed when it can't handle TW2? Even on ps4 i expect at least anti aliasing to be worst

Don't think they have enough $/resources to devote to making software and keep their hardware going too, unlike NV.Yea lots of them have there own demos, im not sure why AMD just doesnt come up with there own and optimize it for there cards and the next consoles.
AM-Gamer
more like not even trying to optimize it for cpu use. I mean, if you have a really high end cpu, you can brute force it many times...borderlands 2 and mafia come to mind, where AMD gpu systems can run it well. Not as good as an nvidia gpu doing the work, but it runs. wis3boi

That was expected.
The only advantage that PC versions of multiplats will have for the next 3 or 4 years will be resolution,aa and af.

Considering that most PC gamers who play The Witcher games have pretty beefy rigs, I'd say you're wrong. Even if that were true by percentages, there is nothing stopping the devs from putting in some higher quality assets for high-end PC hardware. That's why we have "settings" in PC games. A novel idea.
lostrib
And the console version will be equivelent to its max settings, sorry that hurts your feelings. You know why? Becasue an engine is only scaleable to a point and if you jack the assets up high enough lower end pc's will not be able to play the game thus eliminating mroe then half your market. And thsoe pc gamers that have beefy rigs also tend to forget to pay for there games.
you know this how?
Â
Yah I am sure the PS4 would be able to handle ubersampling LOL!
Also a PC can tweak the config for even higher than in game max settings which I did for The Witcher 2 with things like draw distance.

There not gonna push higher levles of geometry , lighting or textures when the new consoles will be fully capable of handling them. The only thing I think you will see on pc is hte ability to play in res beyond 1080p and higher fps.

Wont need to it will have a good enough AA method and for the most part will look just like the pc game at max settings unless you are are sitting 2 feet from your screen.
So my upcoming PS4 will be able to run this at 1600p maxed @ 60FPS+? Think I might be going PC on this one.ducati101
Yea, with fur simulation and a bunch of Nvidia effects the PS4 and Xbox One GPU's cant handle.
That and FXAA, since they can't do proper pc master race AA.

PC gamers like to forget that most PC versions of multiplats didn't have significantly better assets than the console versions before 2011. Same thing will happen this gen.Devs will focus on consoles, and the ps4 versions of games will run at max settings for the first few years.Even after that, the difference between Max and ps4 settings will not be significant.PC versions will look far better in the last 2 or 3 years of the gen, though.

They can. Just propably not on the level of PCs. It's not like wolves will be bald on PS4.[QUOTE="AM-Gamer"]

The footage we have seen has been running on a high end pc with frame rate problems.
The wolves will be bald, Sony fanboys will cry and pc gaming will have yet another triumph of the human spirit under it's belt.
Veeery excited for this one! :D
I've never played a Witcher game though :-/
This is supposed to be the last chapter in the story (from what I've heard). So I hope they have a pretty amazing recap video since they're only releasing TW3 and not 2 or 1 on next gen consoles.
XVision84
Why not just go and play the older ones?

Exactly. First Witcher game has the best story in any RPG, in the history of man, eva! And Wittcher 2 actually has you making powerful game choices to the story unlike Bore Effect: Corrider Shooter.
CD is a developer that has standards. They do the right things even if it cost them few more pennies
Â
PC version will still outperform consoles. Even if they look same on the front. Toss on some mods and BAMÂ
and frame-rate.That was expected.

call_of_duty_10
And people believe this? They wanna sell their game on all platforms, what else are they gonna say. Truth is when the games release there will be differences.
He's doing his bit to increase the sales of the consoles, more new consoles sold the larger install base and consquently the more money CD:PR have the potential to make from The Witcher 3.
Do you expect any developer to say "My new game looks fantastic with all the bells and whistles on PC but the new consoles are a good bit weaker so it won't look as good"?
Well PC doesn't have a conference so.... You'd be a fool to believe TW3 will look anywhere near as good on Xbone as on PC, considering the Xbone GPU can't even run TW2 on max. That fact that it was shown at the MS conference first makes me lose faith in the game.
Â
It's an XB1 first game. Not a PC game.
Jebus213
PC is the lead platform and considering it will also be the most profitable one this won't change. That fact that it was shown at the MS conference first makes me lose faith in the game.

Same thing we hear from every developer ever. The reality is different story.
Ps4 will have significant advantages technically from the Xbox, then PC will still have advantages over the PS4 version.
Unless it's doing 1080p+ or 60+ fps then there are cutbacks visually
As far as assets go I'd hope not because that's embarrassing for next gen consoles otherwise
EDIT: Oh and the PC version has mods
[QUOTE="AdrianWerner"]
The only difference will propably be lack of that Nvidia hair/cloth simulation.
tonitorsi
Which is the thing Im most dissapointed about. Could have been god-like to have such physics in an open world game.

But it will be godlike, on the pc.
Indeed and then they release the Enhanced edition update, which makes the PC version look quite a bit better, you know like they always do.
[QUOTE="AM-Gamer"][QUOTE="clyde46"] PhyX was around on current gen consoles, yet none of the effects I see on my PC were in the console versions. Borderlands 2 for example. clyde46

Thats because it scales the effects back on 7 year old hardware. The PS4 shouldnt have any problem
I just find it strange that Nvidia is letting AMD powered consoles use its GPU accelerated PhyX technology yet actively go out of their way to screw over AMD GPU owners on the PC. It'll run on the CPU. There is no fvcking way PhysX will be running on an AMD GPU. AMD GPU's don't support CUDA.[QUOTE="clyde46"][QUOTE="AM-Gamer"]I just find it strange that Nvidia is letting AMD powered consoles use its GPU accelerated PhyX technology yet actively go out of their way to screw over AMD GPU owners on the PC.
