How did I? He said there was only a minority that cared about achievements.... achievements are VERY popular and add tons of replay value to many people.

AHUGECAT

As do trophies. The only thing achievements have is their implemeneted in every game. But trophies are standard now as well.

Trophies are confusing and not even organized properly (too many Bronze for example). Not many people care about trophies too. Some people will buy games just for achievements.

they are the same for both consoles

There are only 4 types of trophies - 3 you can get, Bronze, Silver and Gold (and platinum). These add to your level but it isn't the same as a gamerscore.

A few console innovations because of the Xbox 360:

- Achievements. Gaming without achievements is no longer the same. great.... trophy hunters.
- Wireless controller standard because EVERYBODY used wired ps2 controllers
- Guide button idk what that is...
- Detachable hard drive what do you call the memory cards for ps2? technically they were hdd
- Free three year warranty you mean the one they were forced to give in court?
- RTS, WRPGs and FPS that actually work on a console (incredible) because fps and wrpgs NEVER worked on ps2
- Best controller ever its a xbox controller. and sony made one just like it for ps1 (and gamecube too)
- Project Natal.... best non-controller ever nobodys even tested it yet
- Xbox Live Arcade
- Netflix because thats an innovation
- Xbox Live Primetime (ie 1vs100) what is that?
- NXE say hi to mii
- XNA idk what that is
and so much more name one more piece of bull

Sony keeps trying to catch up but just looks a poor imitation (their triggers for their DS3 are garbage compared to 360's, PSN is a joke compared to LIVE, Resistance and Killzone 2 are nothing compared to Gears/Halo 3, trophies aren't as good as achievements, etc. etc.).

A lot of people like the SNES and PS2... but those weren't really innovative consoles. PS2 especially. PS2 was so outdated it even only included 2 controller ports AND had no ethernet/hard drive!

AHUGECAT

psn is free, trophies and achievements are identicle, the SNES and PS2 invented most of what you listed for 360, and i sincerely hope your a fakeboy.

40,000 gamerscore is easier to brag about than a level 6 or something. How does it even work? Is it like gamespot levels or something? Everytime I got a trophy in Batman: AA It made me wish I was on the 360 to get that achievement.

In fact, it is like gamespot levels. You have a percentage underneath ur current level that tells how much u have completed before the next level. Its a lot easier than telling a friend ive got 234539 gamerscore. Just say ive got lvl 6 trophies and 56% to next level.

Lol 23,540 gamerscore sounds so much better than Level 6 56% to the next level. How do you know how many more bronze to get to the next level? Silver? Makes no sense.

Um it's real easy, just remember your basic one too and it's ok. I mean how do you remember how many trophies you have, how many bronze, silver, your level, how much your percentage is? Why couldn't Sony just straight out rip off achievements (call them "Accomplishments" or something)?

Obviously you have done no research on trophies. Personally, I don't care about either trophies or achievements. Achievements add to your gamer score and trophies add to your trophy level. It also depends on what trophies you get as the bronze, silver, gold and platinum are different for points. Platinum can only be achieved if you got all the existing trophies in that particular game. Gamerscore is a point based system while the trophy is a level based system. BOTH DO THE SAME THING JUST IN DIFFERENT WAYS.

Like hell it is. Did you know the NES was the one that game up with that ingenious gamepad that systems use and modify over 30 years later? Did you know the Wii is the one that sparked interest in motion controls and made billions off it, inspiring MS to make their own rip-off? Did you know Live Arcade has Perfect Dark, a N64 exclusive? Honestly, these threads are just dumb...

why do you need to remember how many silver bronze gold or platinum trophies you have. Levels are there for a reason. Its definately much easier to remember a level and if you wish to a percentage. Either way though, they do the same dang thing wether you like to admit it or not. I'm guessin you'll choose the later seeing as how ur sig looks.

PRoblem is levels make that Bronze or Silver trophy seem worthless. Isn't worth anything until your level goes up. With a gamerscore, every point counts.

789shadow
Actually, no. Assuming the Original Xbox was Xbox 1, lets take a look at the numerical difference between the two: Xbox 1 - Just 1. Xbox 360 - Wow. Not Xbox 2, nor 3, or even 4, no THREE HUNDRED AND SIXTY. Using this data we can confirm that Xbox 360 is not Xbox 1.5, unless I missed an original Xbox redesign at some point.

Um it's real easy, just remember your basic one too and it's ok. I mean how do you remember how many trophies you have, how many bronze, silver, your level, how much your percentage is? Why couldn't Sony just straight out rip off achievements (call them "Accomplishments" or something)?

AHUGECAT

why do you need to remember how many silver bronze gold or platinum trophies you have.

Dude, they're the same. Get over it.

TC has been owned so many times he only responds to the things he can almost argue, like the gamerscore trophy thing, which is completely pointless to argue because they are the same. They are both in-game challenges that add up and are presentable online, so stop trying to say achievements are better when they are the same. The only difference is PS3 has Platinum trophies, which are cool, I guess that makes trophies better.

An Xbox1.5 is the most innovative console ever? I don't think so.

I'm having a hard time figuring out if you're serious or not.:P

Naw, I'm just joking. IMO, its definately a huge step up from the Xbox 1, but to every man his own I guess.

Really now? Heres a quote from ps3trhphies.org I just worked this out and triple checked for each level using playfire. I was slightly surprised by the results. I couldn't go any higher than level 18 but I doubt anyone will need that anytime soon. Trophy Point Value Bronze - 15 Silver - 30 Gold - 90 Platinum - 180 Level Point Requirements Level 1 - 0 Level 2 - 210 Level 3 - 600 Level 4 - 1,200 Level 5 - 2,400 Level 6 - 4,000 Level 7 - 6,000 Level 8 - 8,000 Level 9 - 10,000 Level 10 - 12,000 Level 11 - 14,000 Level 12 - 16,000 Level 13 - 24,000 Level 14 - 32,000 Level 15 - 40,000 Level 16 - 48,000 Level 17 - 56,000 Level 18 - 64,000 A game without DLC has about 1,200 points, which explains how a lone platinum gets you to level 4. It takes just less than 2 games fully completed per level from 6 to 12 and after that it gets real tough. http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/faq/1390-how-your-trophy-level-calculated-4.html its exactly like an rpg where it gets tougher to level up as you get higher. do some research

My comments in red.

A few console innovations because of the Xbox 360:

- Achievements. Gaming without achievements is no longer the same. PS3 has trophies now...
- Wireless controller standard Also standard on PS3
- Guide button not getting the greatness of this. PS3 has a PS menu button???
- Detachable hard drive So is the PS3's
- Free three year warranty Only cause of its terrible fail rate, and you have to pay for it.
- RTS, WRPGs and FPS that actually work on a console (incredible) has nothing to do with the console, illrelevant.
- Best controller ever subjective and not innovated
- Project Natal.... best non-controller ever copy of Playstation Eye thats been around.
- Xbox Live Arcade
- Netflix
- Xbox Live Primetime (ie 1vs100)
- NXE
- XNA
and so much more

Sony keeps trying to catch up but just looks a poor imitation (their triggers for their DS3 are garbage compared to 360's, PSN is a joke compared to LIVE, Resistance and Killzone 2 are nothing compared to Gears/Halo 3, trophies aren't as good as achievements, etc. etc.).

A lot of people like the SNES and PS2... but those weren't really innovative consoles. PS2 especially. PS2 was so outdated it even only included 2 controller ports AND had no ethernet/hard drive!

That is so confusing.... I just prefer the simple Gamerscore which sounds better anyways. I don't even know how many trophies I have on Batman, or how many levels it puts me up.... but if it was gamerscore I'd easily know (it'd just say).

When Sony rips off, they need to do it right. They tried to rip off motion control, failed (Sixaxis), tried to rip off different SKUs, failed (PS3 has the most confusing SKU choices ever), they tried to rip off trigger buttons, failed.... Sony was the leader and now they are the follower.

you have to remember all these numbers to know when you get to the next level, or have them handy all the time. I prefer straightfoward "This is your score."

too bad its hardder to brag about, which was ur original comment. I'm level 12 with 56% or i have a gamer score of 342430. look at all those nonsensical numbers that I'd have to remember if i was going brag to someone.Either way, they do the same dang thing. And ur argument about 360 being the most innovative is hilarious.

PS3 is so slow, too. Everything takes so long on PSN. I wish Sony would start charging us so we can get a better service.
