Things System Wars People Need to Know

This may all seem pretty straightforward and obvious but some confusion has recently reared its ugly head.

1. A game that exists on more than one platform (including the pc) is not exclusive...at all.

2. This is system wars...not console wars. The pc counts as much here as any other system.

3. This is system wars...not company wars. The PC is not a Microsoft platform. It is an open platform. Microsoft just so happens to make the most common operating system and that is also only just one component that makes a PC work.

4. The "console exclusive" and "console graphics king" terms have no place here because it selectively excludes a system that is included in this forum. (see above) Find a better term to use.

5. An already multiplat game going to another system is not an exclusive lost for any system the game was originally on.

I hope people will notice this thread. I lost count of how many times people have excluded the PC.

On a more serious note, I already knew all of this. I guess SW needs a refresher once in a while, but we could be using the sticky space for something more important to be honest.

that's fine. just don't call it any type of exclusive. if you find yourself somehow making a thread involving only the 360, ps3, and wii then you need to first ask yourself "why?".

So threads like, "Which console has the best gamepad?"or "Which console looks the nicest?"would be locked because they exclude the PC?

And all those "Best graphics" threads will be locked? Because, let's face it, the Wii is excluded from them, even if it isn't explicitly stated. Or is it only a problem when the PC is excluded? Because that seems to be what you're going for.

Seems a little ridiculous.

Unless this is just advice to post by, in which case this thread is rather pointless.

the wii is most definitely NOT excluded. if it had a game that qualified, it would be perfectly welcome. what is so ridiculous?

Yup, an advantage over X console is still an advantage but I think if the term console exclusive should be banned here, I'm all up for it.
