Aren't there more screens from those games? :| It seems every single argument against the Wii uses those precise screens. :| I wonder why. :roll:

To elaborate, those games don't use the Wii's capability's to the fullest. I could pull up PD0 screens and say the 360 is an Xbox 1.5. But then a lemming will bring up Gears. Why? Because Gears fully utilises the 360 whereas PD0 doesn't. Just like how no game made so far maxes out the Wii.

Yes that's a current 2006 Wii game, sad isn't it? I haven't seen graphics like that since ps1.

What? No Red Steel screenies? You missed the Red Steel screenies. And the Wii is still next-gen, even if the graphics aren't as good as the competition.

LOL. Yeah I understand that whole "we're not in it for the graphics" thing Wii-supporters have goin on. But at some point you just have to recognize that crap is crap. That's just garbage and I think it's sad that Nintendo is letting developers take advantage of its consumers like that.

gt pro? this would have been a crappy game no matter where it was....the wii controls at least bumped the score from 3.0 to 4.0.

splinter cell looks absolutely hideous...ubiport trash....

far cry also looks really bad...almost like a good n64 game...

activision could have done a little better with cod3...  a lttle baetter graphics and multiplayer and they would have won my cash...

the problem with these screens is that they are so bad they cant be used as ownage..... they look bad even for the gamecube... and even haters acknnowledge that the wii is at least as powerful as the gc...

All these Wii bashing threads are hilarious. You guys make ridiculous arguments with such flawed logic, it astounding. The irony is that you aren't doing only because you think the Wii is acctually bad. For whatever completely retarded reason, you are scared of a consoles potential success. I mean god forbid the Wii has half decent graphics, it might then be better then person A/B is endorsing.

It cannot be argued, since simply put, the processor in the Wii (for example), is the same as the processor in the GC, just clocked higher. I also think the GPU is slightly different than the GC's, but the key word here is "slightly" (as simmilar as comparing say a 6600GT to a 6800GS) so really, in fact the Wii does not use next gen hardware, except its controller of course. (Wonders why the Wii is priced so high)

its so funny how people think the Wii is just a GameCube....then try to compare a rushed port to Xbox games and say Wii cant even produce Xbox graphics.......does anyone remember Rogue Squadron II, Resident Evil Cube, Resident Evil 4 among other games? Yeah Wii will be able to produce those types of games aesthetically.......and some....

the GPU is about 75MHz faster than GCs...and the CPU is about 200MHz faster (Xbox equivalent CPU Speed) and MORE EFFICIENT....also the Wii has a bit more memory.  Yes its not FAR from the GameCube...but it is better nonetheless....and lets be honest here...GC graphics werent bad if REmake, Rogue Squadron II, RE4, Starfox & Metroid were any indication.

Well... it is just a poorly-made port of a 2003 Gamecube game released only in Japan. Ubisoft just got lazy... again. It looked pretty bad then, too.

Look at the screens that Gamespot has taken and the fact it only got 5 for it's graphics score. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out those screens have been enhanced. It's just too sharp for an SDTV display.

I sorry, I really don't think Nintendo had graphic whores in mind when developing the Wii.  This is a console that is trying to get the family and girlfriend/wife interested in gaming, and to make it fun.

Personally, I am a graphic whore and have no interest in buy the Wii yet.  But after hearing from people the use the Wii, I have to say I am getting interested.

Video games are for entertainment, and if the Wii keeps you entertained, then it is an success.

As for the original question of being next-gen, if your a graphics whore, of course not.  But if you look at it from an interactive aspect, of course it is next gen.

Don't think for one second that the XBox 720 or PS4 will not incorperate the Wii controller, they will.

The point of doctored shots are to hype up and trick people into thinking the games really looks like that. Red Steel doesn't look like that, so It's obvious it's doctored (Well, I wouldn't use the word doctored, I'd say fake or a render or something)
