[QUOTE="AgentVX"]I sorry, I really don't think Nintendo had graphic whores in mind when developing the Wii. This is a console that is trying to get the family and girlfriend/wife interested in gaming, and to make it fun.
Personally, I am a graphic whore and have no interest in buy the Wii yet. But after hearing from people the use the Wii, I have to say I am getting interested.
Video games are for entertainment, and if the Wii keeps you entertained, then it is an success.
As for the original question of being next-gen, if your a graphics whore, of course not. But if you look at it from an interactive aspect, of course it is next gen.
Don't think for one second that the XBox 720 or PS4 will not incorperate the Wii controller, they will.

The idea of the wiimote is great, but these graphics are just a joke for $250.You make sense to me, I will not argue that point. But obviously nerdy gamers that post on a gamers forum, including myself, are going to be the most part die hard gamers.
My dad still plays games on an old 800mhz computer and has fun. The reason why I say this, is even if the graphics don't meet 360/PS3 standards, they still look good enough to get the casual gamers the graphics they need. And most casual gamers just want fun, and if they can get it with the wiimote, all power to them. I am sure casual gamers care little for side by side graphic comparisions of how their game rates, or really would be exposed to side by side graphic comparisions. Causual gamers don't hunt on the internet for ratings of games, they hunt in Wal Mart waiting for the next version of Zelda.
And personally, I would rather play a game thats fun to play then a game that's not fun to play but has killer graphics. But as I said, I have a 360 and love it on my HD monitor, but have to admitt that the Wii with it's lack luster graphics does look fun to play.
