Too own all three consoles does cost more then a gaming PC.
That's a grand right there. Lets not include the cost of additional controllers, paying $10 more for games, and possibly XBL if you want it.
- Wii = $250
- 360 = $350
- PS3 = $400 (Hey I'm being generious here lol)
Blackbond
And to have a PC that looks significantly better than consoles..
8800GT $260
E6600 =$230
1066Mhz Motherboard = $110
2GB PC6400= $100 (In reality I'd get PC9200 to match what the motherboard is capable of)
DTS-Connect Sound Card = $110
PC Case = $60
600W PSU = $100
120GB HDD = $50
Close enough..
[QUOTE="m3Boarder32"][QUOTE="Blackbond"][QUOTE="m3Boarder32"]No you're wrong..
You're considering games like The Darkness not to be exclusive...but in reality they are "console exclusive"
Blackbond
The PC has 54 exclusives games rated AA or higher while the consoles have 23 exclusive games AA or higher. Currently the consoles have 34 more total games AA or higher then the PC.
These stats date back to 2005. The day the 360 came out.
You didn't count The Darkness..Ninja Gaiden Sigma, VF5, Rockband, and many many other console games.....Why not?
There is no such term as a console exclusive on SW. Exclusive is a term defined as being available only on one platform. It being on consoles and not PC doesn't count as exclusive. Now if you want to talk about them being games on Console and not PC then man that would take a lot of work to figure out. Do you want to volunteer for the job? I sure as hell don't want to go through all that work.
Then stop arguing with me that "Console Gaming > PC Gaming"
If the argument is about "Console Gaming > PC Gaming" then "Console exclusives" are very rellevant

now that is the price of a decent pc 970 and the console is 1000 and 930 with a core 360

If you have a case, hard drive, dvd drive, and motherboard, you can play Crysis on 1/2 Very High 1/2 High settings on resolutions up to about 1600x1200 (more than 1080p) for less than 550 dollars, ($220 for ATi 3870, $150 for AMD 5200+ Black Edition, $100 for a 500W PSU, $100 for a mid-range motherboard, $80 for 2gigs of RAM = $550)
If you have never owned a computer, you can build one that can run Crysis at all High/Very High for ~800 tops.
PS3 (400) + 360 (350) + Wii (250) = 1000 dollars.... Oh wow, look at that, PC gaming costs much LESS than owning all the consoles?!!?!?! Zomg!
1st that isnt half decent that is low spectrun http://iax-tech.com/video/3870/38704.htm
2nd I counted 650 + everything else = more than consoles,
dont try to hide theh HDD = 80 case = 80 optical drive = 30 and KBM = 20 (I build desktops for a living)
consoles are xbox core= 280
ps3 40 gb = 400

LMFAO!
They're testing an ATI card, but using old Nvidia drivers?! Where the hell did you find that POS website?

Consoles > PC imo.

[QUOTE="drunken_end"]Wow, since when did each System come together to lead an epic fight against PC? :|
I believe this is called System Wars, not console vs pc. That means you can't just combine systems. I can easily say that PS3 + PC is the best, because PC eventually gets most 360 games and all the PS3 exclusives...
Your argument is lame.

Not so fast...If you've got a case, which I assume most people do because most people own a computer...then there's no reason for a new case.
Sound card is completely not neccesary, especially on today's motherboards which have high defeniton integrated sound and Dolby surround sound support.
You can find 2 gigs of PC2 6400 on Newegg for as low $50. You can find good brands like Corsair for $75:|
You forgot about hard drives also...but wait, if you have a computer, you have on of those also...
Edit: You can find 600 W Power supplies for as low as $20 on Newegg.
So let's recalculate the total cost.
8800gt = $260
e6600 - $230
2 gigs of PC2 6400 ram = $75
1066 motherboard = $110 (with integrated sound)
Case = free if you have an old computer
Hard drive = free^
Power Supply = as low as $25 compared to your $100
So we have your version: $970
vs.
Reality: $700
$1000 (PS3 + Wii + 360) > $970 > $700

PC don't have Metal Gear Solid, Mario, Eternal Sonata, Zack & Wiki, Zelda, Metriod, Super Smash Brothers, Socom, or any other title or series that console exclusive.

sigh. dude, pc's are used to make these console games. so saying that pc games suck is like saying console gaming sucks altogether. you know, the only thing stopping people from pc gaming is the expensive upgrade they have to make everytime. plus, people can install joysticks on pc's so they can play controller based games. this argument ends.

ps3 40 gb = 400
wii = 250
=930 vs 830 on low setting for crysis
LMFAO!
They're testing an ATI card, but using old Nvidia drivers?! Where the hell did you find that POS website?
1st: Wrong drivers!: Using Nvidia drivers on an ATI card...they're completely different!
2nd: Even those Nvidia drivers being used are old. They're old beta drivers...
Where the **** did you find that pathetic website?
:P lol to tell the truth I was just wondering the same thing after I posted :P
but still a decent pc is more expensive than all 3 consoles.
That's more than "decent", that's pretty high end.
 no just no,
my dads rig is pretty highend but not that.
he has a
Q6700
evga 8800gts640
a nvidia 680i (dont know the brand or name)
2 gig kingston oc high speed ram
a crazy ass case
and a dell something monitor.
and it cost him 4000 dollars to boot.
that is pretty highend but still cant run crysis on very high at 1080p (i never ran crysis on it though :P )
Crazy Ass Case =/= High end
8800GT is better than the older 8800GTS640
ahh yeah and so everyone know cases doesnt equal high end I just but it there and you'll need a case with alota airflow.
and yeah 8800gt is morepowerfull than 8800gts so are you saying my dad comp isnt close to highend.
No, I'm saying the PC i built (in words) and the PC your dad has are not that much different..

[QUOTE="m3Boarder32"][QUOTE="Blackbond"]As usual it takes 3 consoles to stand up to the singular one entity that is PC.rowzzr
In other words, Console Gaming > PC Gaming
sigh. dude, pc's are used to make these console games. so saying that pc games suck is like saying console gaming sucks altogether. you know, the only thing stopping people from pc gaming is the expensive upgrade they have to make everytime. plus, people can install joysticks on pc's so they can play controller based games. this argument ends.
My setup was worth..
HDTV $2000
Speakers and Subwoofer: $900
Audio/Video Receiver: $400
Audio/Video Cabinet: $1700
PS3: $600
360: $400
HD DVD Player: $200
Wii: $250
Extra Controller for Each Console: $150
Total: $6600
And I spent $1000 on my laptop...The cost of PC gaming is not the issue for me..

[QUOTE="Blackbond"]Too own all three consoles does cost more then a gaming PC.
That's a grand right there. Lets not include the cost of additional controllers, paying $10 more for games, and possibly XBL if you want it.
- Wii = $250
- 360 = $350
- PS3 = $400 (Hey I'm being generious here lol)
m3Boarder32
And to have a PC that looks significantly better than consoles..
8800GT $260
E6600 =$230
1066Mhz Motherboard = $110
2GB PC6400= $100 (In reality I'd get PC9200 to match what the motherboard is capable of)
DTS-Connect Sound Card = $110
PC Case = $60
600W PSU = $100
120GB HDD = $50
Close enough..
Have fun buying extra controllers, XBL, extra cables, oh and the HDTV along with all 3 consoles

If TV's are generally in all homes then so are PC's and essentially upgrading a PC is cheaper then buying a completely new one. The reason I said you need all of this is simple. You don't need of all that. Just like you don't need a high end PC to play games. You don't need a PC that maxes everything to have a gaming PC. You don't need it if you don't want it. Just the same as you don't need an HDTV to play console games.

Because since Hermits brag about there superior resolutions its important that you have a monitor that shows the difference. Im sorry a 19inch monitor cant look much better past 720p( I know mine goes to 2054x2054) and all it does is make the text so small and the image barely sharper. So you are going to need about a $1200 dollar LCD monitor to take advantage of (TEH SUPERIOR RESOLUTION). And extra cables? Um the only extra cable needed for all the consoles is one HDMI cable for the PS3 the rest of the consoles come with it. Extra controllers? If your friends can bring thereown computers then mine can bring there own controllers.

You don't need a $1200 LCD monitor to achieve higher resoultion then consoles lol. You make crazy points. One the Wii doesn't come with its 480P compatible cables. Two Why would people need to bring over computers? And if they did how is that any different then someone bringing over consoles?
I swear people need to realize you don't have to spend an insane ammount to beat consoles in graphics. You guys are just trying to break the bank to MAX EVERYTHING to the LIMIT.
But PCs aren't in as many homes as television sets are, I do agree there are a good deal of homes with them thou. mean?I agree with the rest of what you said.

It's just not worth it to me...$1000 dollars for better graphics, and RTS games I don't play..
