And it only costs $124.99 dollars

For the same price as a Wii U console, you could purchase not one, but two GTX560's, (each one about 2.5 times as powerfull (FLOPs) as the Wii U GPU), for the equivalent of 5 times the power, and twice the gaming ram of the Wii U.  The CPU in everyone reading this thread's PC right now is also better than the Expresso that is in the Wii U (providing you arent posting from a potato).

You're welcome.

Not all that sure an iPad mini CPU, would out power the WiiU CPU. A GPU certainly wouldn't help either :P

Lol, I wouldnt write it off so quiclky :P The Expresso cores are recycled directly from the Wii, which were recycled directly from the Gamecube. The only difference being a larger cache, higher clock, and more of them.

Every thing is bargain bucket stuff, just buy a Gamecube tape the 4650 to it and you have a WiiU.

Huh, weird, I don't remember my WiiU being 2.4 inches high, it's almost like it doesn't use hardware that you can pick up on the shelf.

The killer was the controller. Costs a lot for them to make, so they sacrificed the hardware.

Nintendo just isn't interested in trying to go toe to toe with Sony and Microsoft. Clearly they are focused on innovating first and foremost.

Where is the GPU on that list?

It uses a multi chip module SoC, so the "processor" part, most likely covers that.

1: it don't cost $120. it most likly cost nintendo $60-80 since they buy in bulk.

2: for the price of wii u Sure you can buy better graphics parts but, graphics card can't do anything on it's own... You need a psu/cpu/ram also

Providing you arent posting from a potato or a smart device, your PC right now even if its off the shelf already has all of those, and likely a more powerful CPU/more ram than the Wii U.

I wouldn't not when the title says "estimate cost of manufacturing the wii u" which normally covers all parts. Unless otherwise specified.

This is what annoys me about Nintendo. They make the customer foot the bill for their ridiculous ideaa. $150-200 for a damn tablet controller? Might as well get a regular Tablet for the price of a Wii U and at least get access to some decent games.

Actually no it doesn't, the Wii U costs even more as it is heavily modified.

As if I even care about what card is in the Wii U. Its graphics are good enough for me and if I want to play graphic stunners I have my PC and 570GTX for that. I bought the Wii U to play games, not watch games. So enjoy your fail troll thread, I know living in Republic of Butthurtia isn't fun with your sucky PS4.

Considering how cheap Nintendo are, if they heavily modify it no doubt it will be considerably cheaper.
