Why does this game look like a LBP rip off to me?enral
because the guy is shaped like one of the LBP guys.
looks interesting...tho they need to change the character model..it blatantly looks like a LBP character
Why does this game look like a LBP rip off to me?enral
DING! Appears that way to me too.
And, I'm sorry TC, I don't think this is very innovative. Instead of actually controlling the character, it appears you control it by using the cursor. Not adding anything really "new" to gaming here.
Buuut, it does look very good for a Wii game, graphics wise.
What would make this a ripoff of LBP and not the other way around? Just because more people have read hype about LBP?hellhund
When was LBP presented to the public and when was this game? See the difference?

That's a good question. When were they presented to the public? I've known about Lost Winds for a while now. I just heard about LBP about two weeks ago.

Then you need to start reading up, don't you? It was shown (and had been developed for some time) over a year ago.
[QUOTE="Jynxzor"]LBP was known about last year.hellhund
Ok, that's a span of 4-16 months.

Go look at the date when this vid was added. Give it up, LBP was started before this Wii game!

My point is that its retarded to say Lost Winds is a ripoff of LBP simply because a character vaguely looks like another one just because it's better known. Besides, LBP looks like it would be better off with a Wiimote anyways.

Sorry but you can't win this one. LBP already wowed and impressed everyone with true game innovation and not motion sensing gimmicks. In fact the motion sensing looks like a rip off of Zack and Wiki. So Lost Winds rips off of two innovative games that already proceeded it.
Its not our fault you aren't caught up on all the gaming news. And LBP has something this game doesn't..a far more charming personality.

Well..to be honest LBP also isn't all that innovative either

The motion sensing is nothing like Zack and Wiki. Not even vaguely. You might as well say it's a ripoff because of the use of color and jumping. Oh, and LBP has already wowed everyone before its even out? Exaggerations don't help you try to make your point.
Isn't LBP mostly about user generated content, and realistic physics? While Lost Wind is a pretty standard platformer, with a wind controlling theme. If Lost Wind ripped off LBP, then why is Lost Winds nothing like LBP?
Plus, this isn't near LBP quality, don't feel threatened.

Sure it is. Concept. Level design. Creativity. Customization. 4 player co-op in a 2D sidescroller. A platformer designed to be a social experience. Something SMG only touched upon with the use of the second wiimote.
Innovation isn't just flashy gimmicks. Its the refinement and improvement of what we think a game should be.

You really need to read more gaming sites. Just on the couple posts in this thred of yours, it evident you don't do that. Go read some articles on LBP. Tell me what you read. IN-NO-VA-TION.And I've seen flash games on my webbrowser with the same "innovation" as what we see in this Wii game. Having the character follow the curor is nothing new. And it, to me, takes the "real" control of the character out of your hands. If I want to have my character to jump up on something, I walk them over and press a button to jump. I don't move a cursor over the area I want him to go and watch him get to it at his pace.

Oh man. You just owned yourself big time. Yes when LBP was shown it was a pretty big deal. Everyone will pretty much agree to that. My question is where have you been this whole time?
When an unknown title becomes a big first party exclusive by word of mouth alone its a big deal. Heck it was because of the RESPONSE it had gotten that Sony delayed the game to make it better. They saw potential and decided not to squander it.

User generated content is indeed a big part of it but there will be a game to play outside of that feature. Its not like you'll have to design the game just to play it. You play the game. Then make your own levels and play online with friends.

Yes. Everyone. Its the kind of game that transcends fanboyism. Where any gamer wants to play it or is curious about it. They wish it was on their console but they respect its exclusivity. Yes. The industry and gamers alike are keeping their eye on LBP.
Again I ask. Where have you been?

Look I'm not gonna be a jerk about this. So I'll just speak plainly. Your on this site so I imagine you read game news and keep up with things such as E3 and all the other gaming/industry events? Many of us do so LBP has been on our radars for quite some time. So you can either keep up with the news but don't berate those of us that do. ESPECIALLY if your going to come to gamespot/systemwars where their is little patience for your kind of half baked opinions.
You may notice no one has taken sides with your thoughts. Their is a reason for that.
And it is possible to play lots of games and keep up with the news at the same time.

YOU GOT RİNSED.This game a LBP rip-off? Can you in LBP interact with objects without the character touching it? Can you in LBP design the direction of the fire to solve puzzles? Can you in LBP actually control the direction of the wind? Plus LBP doesn't have even near the same intuitivity as Lost Winds.
It's a rip-off because it's 2D designed platforming I suppose???:?

Actually, the character is controlled with the nunchuck and the wind with the wiimote. And it's a wiiware game.

Are you sure you can control the character? I've heard that you just guide him.

That wind feature feels like a one note gimmick. A boring game designed around ONE feature (See army of two, dark sector for other examples) hoping that you are dazzled enough by it that you'll ignore that everything else is typical, cliched, and a rip off of better games.
