Its called pirating. Some probably did purchase the game, and Activision is laughing at your hack/mods all the way to the bank if you did.

heysharpshooter

Please stop while your still ahead. Your part of the reason that pc gamers consider console gamers "noobs"

Why, because I am pointing out the obvious? And frankly, I don't care much at all what PC gamers think. They are not the gods of the gaming world, where console gamers have to watch what they say and kowtow to them at every step to avoid being called a n00b.

You, in fact, are bowing and being laughed at as a consolite n00b because you keep posting about things you don't know.

The only obvious thing you are pointing out is that you don't know what you are talking about.

This is proof that you have no idea what's going on.

You are swine and you have become so accustomed to your chains that you will not escape even though your freedom is promised before you.

because I am an inferior consolite.

This thread shows so much contrast between the attitudes of PC gamers and console gamers.

Despite no developer support PC gamers still managed to succeed in bringing dedicated servers to MW2, with this video showing a proof of concept mod in action.

Console user response? It's not officially supported, so its EVIL!!!

And you guys wonder why PC gaming is dying, it's full of hackers and pirates. Enjoy it while you can.

ThatGuyFromB4

Right now, PC is the easiest platform to hack, but thanks to the kb+m and admin powers mix, it's also the easiest to keep clean of hackers.

As soon as the PC becomes no longer viable as a gaming platform, hackers will move on. On consoles, that is.

This thread has become full of lulz. It degraded into a console player -vs- PC player match very quickly.

ChrisJ2004

Consolite =\= Console player

I am a console player, however, I do not prefer to be bound in chains like many consolites so obviously prefer.

Likewise man, I'm sure there are Hermits round here that love to hate on consoles, but I love my PS3 (and to a lesser extent my sister's wii). The price argument I understand. But I just can not get my head round this desire for less freedom and choice. I can only conclude that its tied in with that 'justify my purchase to myself' crap.

Hackers? Pirates? Where are the hackers and pirates? This is not a hack. I repeat. This is not a hack. I repeat. This is not a hack. I repeat. This is not a hack. I repeat. This is not a hack.

Also, the 360 had at least one million hackers banned this year. You honestly think PC gaming is the only place with pirates?

As I said, I'm not quite nerdy enough to fully understand this, but what I do know is that IW didn't intend for this so apparently some sort of hack was used to get it working.

And there's not enough console pirates to affect sales in any sort of significant way, same thing can't be said about PC.

Ignorant console players in this thread need to do everyone a favor: shut your mouths before talking.

The point of the video was to prove that PC players have FREEDOM with their games, and get much more VALUE per dollar. This equates to more FUN. How some of you think this is a bad option to have it beyond me, so please enlighten all of us. As far as I'm concerned, dedicated servers are the only way to play online games, unless you want P2P bs with people hosting off of their crappy dsl connections with half a meg of upload speed and terrible ping times.

People who argue against us are blind morons.

No, its because they were too lazy to include it, nothing illegal about dedicated servers, they just want as much money as possible.

PC Gamers got the last laugh with this, so that doesn't matter.

I suppose, I'm not entirely sure on the argument.

Console games typically get leaked first these days, and have a very large number of pirates, more then you can probably imagine.

Here it comes. Constant upgrades :D Do you realize that buying a PS3 within the last two years is a less worthy investment in terms of longevity than buying a PC? Every time I've upgrade my computer it's been around 700$ and each time that PC lasted me couldmore than four years. I could've made it last longer but I wanted better graphics. PCs last longer than consoles and comments like this prove how much you know. This is another consolite problem. You don't want te OPTION of getting better graphics so you stick to consoles. You act like a console is going to keep upgrading itself for free but a PC doesn't. A console keeps you stuck with old technology while a PC gives you options. Again, you hate options.

Also, trouble shooting is rarely needed. Still, it's a skill you need to get if you're going to be successful in this computer world.

Also, to avoid virus, why don't you, I don't know, install a virus protector? Either way, that's a PC problem; not a PC gaming problem. Everyone who uses a PC has to deal with this. You're using one right now.

Laughable statement.

"Cutting" dedis means that hackers can't be istantly kicked from the server they're playing on.

IW wanted to force PC gamers to not mod it.

And the game you have seen in action is probably not a "bought" copy.

Here is one Dedicated servers does not equal hackers ( sure there are hackers but if you play on VAC or punkbuster serves the chances encountering hackers are slim to none ) Now let me ask you something Having the choise to play the game the way the devs indended but also having a couple more choises through ded servers and mods is a bad thing ( you do know you can play on ded servers that use VAC means valve anti cheat control ) ?

Activision made the decsion to cut dedis because of hacking and pirating. Debatable. They say it's to stop hacking and pirating but show no proof that hacking and pirating is rampant on the PC.

Activision are laughing at PC gamers all the way to the bank, despite their petittions. No question about that.

If PC gamers are buying the game and modding it, they are supporting it. Of course they would support a good game. What they don't support are some questionable decisions made by IW and Activision.

That ladies and gentlemen, is freedom. God bless those hackers, And damn Activision as a whole for putting in no dedicated servers. I'm thinking right about now that IW is proud of the PC community,Or totally expected this to happen and made it easier for the pirates to do, And activision has been given another blow.

I thought we discussed this a couple of pages ago.

Activision made the decsion to cut dedis because of hacking and pirating.

That's what they tell you, but the truth is they made that decision so they have full control on additional content. Meaning if people want more (this includes PC gamers) they have to pay Activision, whereas before PC gamers could just rely on dedicated servers and mods. IW.net is terrible for preventing hackers. Piracy is a valid reason

Activision are laughing at PC gamers all the way to the bank, despite their petittions.

Probably, but I don't see how this has to do with dedicated servers.

If PC gamers are buying the game and modding it, they are supporting it.

At school.

And my 360 has lasted 5 years without an upgrade(or RROD). And it can play every game I have without ever having to do anything to the system. You act like their is a new console every year that costs 500 bucks.

So my 360: 500 bucks for 5 years(still going strong)

Your PC: 1,000+(an assumption. you can tell me what you paid inititally) for the thing originally, plus 700 every 4 years(if I take you seriously) is 1,700+ dollars. And thats assuming you have only been PC gaming for 4 years.

I give props to the hackers who did that. That video was just a big middle finger to Infinity Ward.

5-10 dollars for DLC(which PC gamers act like it a fortune) is far cheaper than constant upgrades, trouble shooting and fixing hacked/virused comps every six months to play the next graphics whore game.

heysharpshooter

Here it comes. Constant upgrades :D Do you realize that buying a PS3 within the last two years is a less worthy investment in terms of longevity than buying a PC? Every time I've upgrade my computer it's been around 700$ and each time that PC lasted me couldmore than four years. I could've made it last longer but I wanted new gamse. PCs last longer than consoles and comments like this prove how much you know.

At school.

And my 360 has lasted 5 years

Your PC: 1,000+(an assumption. you can tell me what you paid inititally) for the thing originally, plus 700 every 4 years(if I take you seriously) is 1,700+ dollars. And thats assuming you have only been PC gaming for 4 years.

Funny. The XBOX 350 has only been out for 4 years...

Games cost less on PCs, and PCs are not restricted to gaming. There goes your whole argument.

Without Steam they are 10 dollars cheaper, which is not a big deal. Console gamers can buy used games, while CD keys and online registration make it impossible to buy used games(because of hacking and pirating) ANd restricted(your word, not mine) has nothing to do with cost.

My friends dad offered to build me a computer for free, optimized for gaming and said all the parts would cost around 1,300 dollars(and thats with generic/stock fans and power sources or whatever) The motherboard, processor and graphics card alone cost 900, and I had a free tower case.

And my 360 has lasted 5 years without an upgrade(or RROD). And it can play every game I have without ever having to do anything to the system. You act like their is a new console every year that costs 500 bucks.

So my 360: 500 bucks for 5 years(still going strong)

Here is another one Your 360+PC ( since you need one to post here) = 800 My pc 600+200 upgrade so far=800 An average $15 price difference between console and pc games ( some cost 40 some 50 ) for 5 years and do the math which is more expensive Let alone all the free mods and free games ( i dont mean pirated but games like trackmania ) that satisfy my gaming needs thus a pc gamer not only spends less to buy a game but he/she doesnt need to buy as much games as a console only player to satisfy his/her gaming needs

It surprises me how much console gamers are afraid of options and choices. Don't want to play a joke server? Then don't. There are tons of servers that have default gameplay. Feel like goofing off? Play a server with infinite ammo and low gravity. How is having the freedom of choice being stripped away from you a good thing?

The thing consolite gamers like you don't understand is that my older PC could've played multiplat games just as well as your 360. Like I said, PC gaming gave me the option of getting better graphics and I chose to take it up on that. Console gamers have no choice. None. Ever.

Also, every PC game I buy is 20$-30$ cheaper. Therefore, my PC cost less than your console.

In recap: I could've kept my 700$ PC for the entire console duration and still played games as well as your 360 does. However, given the option, I chose better graphics and cheaper games.

Understand?

Class dismissed.

and thats the reason i prefer consoles....seriously i would never play on that server with that kinda of crap

Oh noes the choice! We can't allow gamers to be given a choice as to how they play!

And yet all these people whine and b1tch about how MW2 is for n00bs(mostly PC gamers with hip shooter hard ons), and at the same time would play "zero gravity unlimited grenades frag fest w00t!!!" to rack up kill counts and brag about in on forums.

Hypocrisy, thy name is PC gamers apparently...

No, only fanboys or elitists would do that. Real gamers aren't fanboys or elitists.

I think early 80s computers that cost 400 dollars can't play it either. Your point is completely void as it would be similar to saying a PS1 can't play PS3 games.

Go build a rig at iBUYPOWER or CyberPower PC and subtract 100$ from it. That's how much that PC costs. a i5 750 GTS 250 4GB RAM comp costs about 730$. That would pwn the next generation consoles in case you don't know.
