Yes, everyone is excited and knows that Brutal Legend will automatically kick some serious ass 'cause it's a creation from the mastermind of Tim Schafer.

All previous games that were touched by Tim Schafer became a gem such as

And last but not least...

GRIM FANDANGO!!! Awarded Game of the Year by the very gaming review site, GAMESPOT!!!!!

http://www.gamespot.com/features/awards1998/gameofyear2.html

And if you think it ends here, think again!!!

Not one, but two, yes, TWO of Tim Schafer's games made it to the list of Gamespot's GREATEST GAMES OF ALL TIME, Day of the Tentacle and Grim Fandango!!!

http://www.gamespot.com/gamespot/features/all/greatestgames/p-19.html

http://www.gamespot.com/gamespot/features/all/greatestgames/p-48.html

You go, Tim Schafer!!

While Full Throttle was cool (Day of the Tentacle is damn near impossible, though), Psychonauts sucked. There, I said it.

I 100% freaking agree. Grim Fandango, Psychonauts and the Monkey Island games were all amazing and Brutal Legend just looks like pure gold, 64km of heavy metal themed open world awesome with plenty of lols.

I don't remember all his games , but from what I remember (Monkey Island 2, Grim Fandango, Day of Tentacle, ) Physconauts was his worst game --- all of them had interesting story and humor and interesting game play, but while pshyconauts had the first two it was lacking in the gameplay area

What I meant was that you said Psychonauts was lacking in gameplay compared to his other games but all his other games are adventure, which aren't known for their gameplay, which is quite harsh.

actually no, adventure games game play can be very crucial --- for example puzzles : they should be interesting to solve but not very frustrating and annoying like in Grim Fandango were the puzzles were perfect. Remember the Gabriel Knight's 3 mustache puzzle -- how stupid it was or the dancing stuff in Indigo Prophecy ? Yep these two are examples where the game play can be screwed up. I am not a very bug adventure game player, but I am sure someone who plays them a lot can give you plenty more examples

miyamoto's games are blockbusters and many of the characters that he has created are some of the biggest faces of gaming

tim schafer on the other hand..well..his games don't sell. I doubt very few people outside of gaming forums know who he is.

No. :| No man has created as many classic games as Miyamoto in America. If anyone is close to Miyamoto in the West, I would say Warren Spector.

Say Tim Schafer to a PC gamer and they'll grin with glee thinking of Monkey Island, Grim Fandango, and Day of the Tentacle, say his name to a console gamer and they'll cock their head like a confused puppy. I don't think any shiggy, because Shigeru is just untouchable in regards to gaming, but Tim doesnt get the respect he deserves, he is most definitiely one of the best devs out there.

He didn't touch EFMI - he wrote the first two games, which were significantly better.

Anyway, Tim Schafer may be a gaming god, and everything he touches is instantly brilliant...but he's nowhere near as successful as Miyamoto. That's the main difference.

Well, what was the last iconic video game character that you remember from a PC game? Sure, there are plenty of notable ones, but none that are representative of PC gaming. The 'game developer's mascot' tradition is more console-oriented in nature.

You SERIOUSLY need to get a PC and play Full Throttle, its amazing. (Day of the Tentacle was also pretty good).
