What's there to boycott on GTA6? It was long overdue for a female lead for the next GTA game anyway so this shouldn't be a surprise to everyone. From what I've seen, everyone is cool with the female lead, the problem everyone is concerned about is that GTA6 will be somewhat toned down a bit with its heavy jokes is what everyone is upset about.

Don't care, but i do care about how she is written and how well she is acted. If its on par with Arthur Morgan, i will give GTA6 a shot, and i usually ignore gta games.

Since they're not following any kind of stories, they aren't exactly replacing a male character with a female, so there's no agenda here. But if i do see some virtue signaling bullshit like with everything coming out from Blizzard, gta 6 can gtfo.

Never seen Rockstar as a bitch company that goes SJW, so i am curious if they've been infected with the "must please everyone" virus.

@sargentd: cheezus, it's cool that the main protagonist is a woman, but Rockstar should not be censoring themselves. Make as much jokes as you like about blacks, whites, Asians, Indians, natives whatever. I'm all for that, it's part of what makes the game funny.

LOL, I got no issue with women in games. My girl Lara Croft is featured in some of my favourite games. It is all about how the characters are written and whether shit is forced or part of an agenda.

Is it really a woman though? Or a man identifying as a woman?... or perhaps an alien disguised as a woman?... or maybe an A.I. that was programmed as a muskrat that later became sentient and wanted to be human so it was uploaded into an android male body and decided it now identified as female, so it installed some cyberpunk mods to make the necessary changes. It's refreshing to see females do the badass hero things we're used to seeing men do in games and movies. But there's a reason why it's far from reality. It's simply not in a woman's biology to lead and fight, no matter what feminism tells you.

Mainly the bigger publishers don't want to insult the highly sensitive gen z and even worse their very own employees that are far too PC to even crack racial jokes these days. TLOU2 had TWO female leads and ended up as the GOTG last gen.

This is Rockstar North, top 4 S tier developer. It will be a 95+ MC masterpiece.

It sucked because it was made to serve a SJW inclusion agenda. The script was not good and it didn't need to be made. Them fucking with a beloved franchise made it that much more insulting.

I'm not even mad at the SJW stuff. Movie could've been way better despite it being "inclusive". All jokes were terrible, the actors were terrible, the script was amazingly bad. Absolutely nothing about the movie was good.

I had nothing against the actors at all before the movie. Now I make sure to ignore everything else they're in. Just seeing their faces annoys me.

I guess it depends on how they write the character. Obviously it would be cringe if she was portrayed as all the lead male characters have been in gta games. Eversince i read the news i been trying to envision the character but i cant. Even if its a bonnie and clyde thing i dont know how it would work for a gta game. Seems like it should of been a standalone game and not in the gta universe style. I guess time will tell.

I just think it's hilarious how GTA a series known about crime, car theft, murder, prositution, smuggling, fraud, political corruption, human trafficking, etc... draws the line at laughing with minorities, cross dressers or women.

I agree completely sounds like Rockstar is going political correct that was always my worst fear in this shitty woke era we live in these days. A female protagonist could be good if done right the only good thing I've heard about this game is there going to have alot more interiors to explore which is something GTA V was lacking. But the fact now that making fun of all types of people is off the table is pathetic Rockstar has gone soft I can see now why Dan Houser left.

People really struggle to understand what the concept "punch down" means and that things can be joked about in ways which aren't truly mocking the subject at hand.

Like the old George Carlin bit where he's talking about how people say you can't joke about certain things because they aren't funny; like rape. Then he goes on to riff about Porky Pig raping Elmer Fudd, where in the world more rape takes place and if it has anything to do with climate, and ultimately ends up mocking a rapist who raped an 80 year old woman by bringing it all back around to how fucking stupid the mindset of "she was asking for it" is. At no point does he go after actual victims of rape or make any sort of implication to that.

People are talking about "political correctness" being what is wrong with Rockstar like their entire focus hasn't been on GTA Online for nearly a decade now because they make money hand over fist on microtransactions. It wasn't a lack of mocking marginalizing certain groups that pushed Rockstar in this direction where the concern is how to nickel and dime the consumer to make hundreds of millions in profits while doing as little work as humanly possible. Literally killed RDR Online to do more GTA Online stuff and it launched back in October 1st 2013.

Like GTAV, VI will feature multiple playable protagonist. This time, one of them will be a female. Anyone upset about this has some growing up to do.

@Pedro: I mean GTA is satire. It's always made fun of everyone in a bunch of screwed up ways. It's actually a reason I like the games, the humor In them. The dialogue between the 3 characters in V was hilarious. I thought Trevor by far was the funniest. GTAV was not PC and jokes and shit on everyone.

I just hope GTA6 doesn't look and sound as zoomer PC friendly as the new Saints Row. That games characters and dialogue looks insufferable

There is a difference in between a joke about something or someone versus just being mean or disrepectful. Way too often folks justify their downright disrespectful behavior under the guise of "it is just a joke".
