@goldenelementxl: Not that I completely disagree with you but regarding what you've said about some shows not being possible to make nowadays I tend to disagree. Generally speaking sketch comedy is dead, and that's nothing to do with "wokeness" or whatever. While simultaneously you have Netflix paying millions for Chappelle's shitty 1h comedy special which is anything but "woke".
There's this weird dynamic going on, particularly among comedians which consists on them making millions on "punch down" comedy while crying about being oppressed. Rogan being a good example too, for someone so oppressed it's a miracle that he's the highest paid podcaster in the world. The culture wars are very profitable.
There's no doubt two opposite vocal minorities, those who call everything "woke" and those who are "woke". But I honestly don't remember woke people having such a toxic response to something like the anti-woke regularly have. Tlou2 being probably the biggest shitstorm I've witnessed when it comes to abuse thrown at creators based in their creative choices. Maybe outside gaming the roles are reversed, I have no idea, but in our hobby that's not even close.
To me personally it's all about the quality of the writing. If you're going to touch sensible themes you better write your ass off, no excuses for lazy punch down shit. For example Louis CK is one of my favourite comedians ever, totally not woke, but his writing is near flawless. On the other hand Chappelle's last specials are gutter trash.
