Titanfall couldn't be made without Xbox Cloud, X1 better than PC version

They'll say this up until it releases and it looks and plays better on PC, as always.

i think your forgetting microsoft have just done a U-Turn on the whole drm and being online, which means that the cloud won't come into effect as standard now so kiss them graphics goodbye, and just to point out Titanfall is a timed exclusive and will be coming to the ps4. Respawn have already stated they want it to go on ps4. The cloud is nothing now that everyone can play offline.

What they mean by cloud is that on xbox it will have dedicated servers, they'll use MS's servers instead of having to provide their own and on PC it will not have dedicated servers.

Because they don't want to provide and maintain their own servers. It would have been the same on xbox too if it wasn't for MS allowing third party devs to make use of their server cluster or as they call it "da cloud".

This is what MS means by cloud processing. With Xbone MS will have a large number of servers spread out around the world that will be available to third party devs. They can use it for whatever they want to. Generating AI, giving their game dedicated servers or whatever else devs will think about.

At least that is what I understood from a titanfall dev speaking in a giantbomb podcast.

I can't actually think of many games where a lot of servers were provided by the developers/publishers for PC games, BF3 was probably an exception, EA did eventually allow people to rent their own servers for that as well. By far the majority of gaming servers are provided by the community where clans etc. rent private servers and open them to public use. Or company's such as Jolt online gaming or even PC Gamer magazine open up and mantain they're own servers for loads of different games. I am of course not counting MMO's, although there are non developer/publishers servers for most MMO's as well.

That's how the PC has always been.

it's impossible for the x1 version to be better than the PC version unless M$ is purposely marketing the X1 to be better than PC by purposely making the PC version inferior which is just going to get people mad due to shady tactics....... don't do it..... you're gonna get hanged!

Okay, so, it couldn't be done without One's cloud but comes out on pc day one AND ps4, what? 6 months later? Yeaaaaaaaaaa certainly couldn't be done on anything else but Xboned. The funny thing is, Xbone will probably be the ugliest next gen version of Titanfall :lol:
