the power of teh cloud!! is my fav part about the game. it ensures amazing servers that will never go offline or even run into trouble. xbl/teh cloud!! is the future people.

So what if the servers are down a few hours? There is no such thing as a perfect server, and this thread was about TF, not about the X1....you just cannot resist with these silly posts can you? Been playing the game almost daily since the release, and other than a 2 hour downtime on launch day , the server performance has been unbelievable...my ping has always been below 35....apparently today some people had problems coneecting, I have not tried yet to connect, but I suspect the downtime will be low as is always the case with XBL.

^^errmm wat u talking about? i hav tf on pc and i cant play because of this bullshit cloud server which lems hyped up to be so much better than psn. bu-bu-cloud!! will handle ai, cloud will enable 1080p, cloud is most advanced creation ever!!!

Yeah sure. I haven't had any problems connecting to the servers. I really doubt you're having this much trouble. It's just the cow in your coming out as usual.

haha why the hell would i even lie? the west europe servers that uk connects to is down. i bought the game yesterday and want to play it which is why im kind of pissed. plus after all that shit lems talked about teh cloud!! being reliable and amazing. turns out its just the same shit as sony. teh cloud!! = marketing gimmick

No server in history has remained online 100% of the time and none ever will. Reliable servers dont mean 100% availability, they just mean above industry standards. And compared to the server reliability of other large multiplayer games at launch.. titanfall seems to be doing pretty damn well.

^ This. For the most part, TF servers have been good and very reliable. Shit happens though and servers require maintenance. There is no server that is perfect and doesnt require downtime to maintain. TitanFall servers have been good the majority of time since TF's release.

I hate putting rounds into someone's back that is dead to rights and they just jump and turn around and pull off a head shot n I'm dead.

Then put shots into the back of their head not their back. Your post is an example of why bullet spongy games require more skill and are the true hardcore gametypes.

Its quite true, I have a friend that always bitches about games where players dont die the second you look at them, coincidentally hes also not good at aiming. I remember trying to get him to play halo and he kept complaining with "thats BS i shot him first and he still killed me". When in reality if you shot first and he still killed you, its probably because he had better aim than you.... its a positive when the player with the better aim wins the gunfight, these are shooters afterall not hide and seek simulators.

The mobility and the map design.

I like the feel of being able to cover so much ground with a well timed wall runs and, and all the buildings have so many good hit and run type ingress/egress points. Boneyard is dope, ripping people out of Titans and watching your titan crush that little bitches spine is dope as ****.

Otherwise most of the individual moments are all samey wise after awhile. Dropping Titans on people, well timed grenades, finding that idiot who is stupid enough to stand still as he's wall running ...oh oh..hitting someone with the 40mm canon as they are mid air after a nuclear ejection. Had that once, shame I didn't have anything to capture that moment(no theater system...or a shit load of other MP features).

Ya the map designs are one of the best I've ever seen in any game period! It's like a map on top of another map. Respawn did an excellent job at accomodating both pilot and titan on the same map. The map is almost completely different when you play as a titan compared to as a pilot. As a pilot, you're free to roam the map, enter buildings, zip line, wall run use bridges and what not. As a titan, buildings are more like walls for the most part, where you have to walk your titan around stuff to get to a point on the map where as a pilot you can mostly just cut through, go from roof top to roof top. It's really well made.

As for your 40mm ejection kill, don't worry, once you reach Gen 5, it's a requirement to get 50 of those (Gooser Kills), before you can move on to Gen 6. That's currently where I'm at and it is widely known within the TF community as the road block that will separate you from other players. So far, I have almost 20/50 ejection kills. I believe I recorded a few. I'll decide if I make a vid out of it or not, since it's become the norm for me. When you reach Gen 5, it's something you just have to do lol. You'll get to record those Gooser moments dont' worry.

Hmm...that makes sense, I think I only have 2 eject kills based on the achivement progress....I think I need to start actively getting more of those or I'll be stuck on Gen 5....any tips you can give to get those quicker?

Get used to being able to kill an ejecting pilot after rodeo'ing with your favorite pilot weapon while you're both in the air. As a titan, always position yourself in a good spot when you doom an enemy titan and shoot down the ejected pilot. I recommend chaingun to kill the airborned pilot. If your aim is good, the arc cannon is good as well since it would be a one hit kill if it has a charge of 50% or more. You get the hang of getting goosers once you've practiced the methods long enough. One of my goosers, I actually melee'd an ejecting pilot with my titan. I doomed an enemy titan, as the pilot ejected, I melee'd up in the air in the enemy pilot's ejecting direction and killed him. I wish I had recorded it, it was probably my most unique kill since it required precise timing to pull it off.

Good stuff thanks, will try that....I think one of my mistakes is that I will jump off a Titan after a rodeo kill, instead I should wait for both of us to be ejected. Yeah that sounds pretty insane getting a pilot like that as he is ejecting lol.....I doubt the other player was expecting that.

Yeah, instead always wait til the titan explodes. Whenever the enemy pilot decides to eject, you will eject simultaneiously. He will always appear a bit below and in front of you, just gun him down in the air. I have done it quite a few times and believe me, it's not as hard as people think once you get used to it. The rule is to always stay and rodeo that bull...er I mean titan til the bitter end and it explodes so that you can fly like a kite!

Yeah, I go HAM sometimes lol. One of the guy's in my group calls me "Kira Yamato" whenever we play Titanfall and I get a nerd boner. I like to think of myself more as Char Aznable though just because he's so fucking cool lol.

Now the other thing I'm finding great about this game is the weapons/perks balance....I don't feel there are too many of those that are useless, it seems each one was well thought out and can be successfully incorporated in your build.....which is the point I am now at in the game, trying out different builds and specializations.....the Dome Shield perk is interesting(the one that increases your Dome shield duration after drop). Experimenting with it has been cool to say the least, as it's a game dynamic not present in any other FPS game I've played.

While the Dome shield is up, you can remain within its confines with your pilot.....you can go in and out and take out people like that, but it can be a bit tricky. However, even if you have like 10 seconds left on the timer, the instant you do get in your TItan, the shield will disappear after like a second or two....so the key must be to maximize that time, and not to go in the Titan until the last possible second.

Does anyone know if it's possible for an enemy pilot to enter the dome shield and take out a pilot in there? I know you start receiving damage the second you enter an enemy shield, but I'm still trying to figure out how truly safe you are in there....for now, it seems a TitanFall crush is the only thing that can bypass this shield, and I'm curious to see if other people have been using it a lot and how it has helped you. I just love standing in that thing and watching the chaos around me(though I doubt my teamates were happy about that lol).

Hmm I have not tried that sir. I can't confirm whether you can kill a pilot if they're in their dome shield. I do agree though, that I feel the weapons and perks are all balanced. One thing I see people complain about is the smart pistol. I'm sorry but personally anyone that complains about the smart pistol I usually find out that they're not that great at the game. The smart pistol is good for assasination, but in a head to head fight, the smart pistol usually loses. Having time to lock on will usually always get you killed as a pilot with any other weapon can down you quickly and ferociously if their aim is decent enough. Lastly, another weapon I hear people complain about is the machinegun. I'm sorry but that thing is decent once you get used to it. People complain about its recoil. I then ask those people if they read the weapon's description and 9 times out of 10 they say no. The description says the SpitFire Machine gun's recoil gets reduced the longer you hold continuos fire to the point where it barely recoils at all eventually. It's ammo capacity makes it a good gun to gooser after a rodeo. And my gawd, have you ever tried rodeo'ing a titan with the SpitFire? If you havn't, please do yourself a favor and try it next time you play, you will see the Titan's health decrease at an extremely rapid pace more so than any other primary pilot weapon in the game.

Good call with the Spitfire/Rodeo combo, that will help me with the gooser kills, didn't think about that(I'm having too much fun with the smg's and the run n gun perk for now). I had a hard time with the smart pistol, as you said unless you get the drop on the other person you will be outgunned.

@Cranler: No sometimes you just have to fire from the hip and putting half a clip in someone should drop them.

Don't get me wrong I'm not a huge fan of shooting someone in the big toe and they die, but I like realistic and people I shot to go down quicker.

I don't know if I'm missing something but for me in TF I have a hard time telling when someone is actually dead. Sometimes I'll put like 3-6 rounds in someone and the drop then other times in the same situation the just jump away. It's just annoying, same reasons I didn't get into Halo.

Did you expect realism in the game based on jetpacks and mechs? There is a message that pops up letting you know when you killed a player, so thats generally the best indicator. And halo more than any other game has a set amount of bullets to kill. There is no damage drop off at range, no confusion. In Halo a set amount of shots kills a player, its always the same amount of shots based on weapon. So if you shoot first and a player kills you, its because they have better aim. And while its annoying to lose to a player with better aim than you, thats all the more reason to keep playing and improve your aim... not a fault with the game.

Heh, just another shooter to me. I'll get back to it later

Best thing for me was watching my bud get his ass handed to him in a titan while I sat back just behind him and laughed in chat

@BeardMaster: I understand what your saying, I'm trying to not be hasty and cast this game off. The only FPS I've been playing is COD for like the last 7 years, HC TDM, CTF, pretty much any hard core mode. Before that it was rainbowsix, I love timesplitter, and started playing FPS with UT 14-15 years ago. My aim is fine and I'm not raging out over here and doing horrible it's just little complaints with it and learning curve. I've put maybe 3 hours into the game I'm up to lvl 35 ish. Getting into the burn cards, don't have all my guns don't have a favorite yet. Just figuring out how I want to approach the game. I love the parkcore jet packs all the movement, because I'm a run n gunner rarely would I sit back n snipe or be still in any shooter.

I'm allowed to not be absolutely mesmerized by the game, and it has faults that I think are faults that others might not. But it's still cool brings something different to the table, but so far this game won't be taking me away from COD.

Still enjoying the game as well.. I'm Gen 2 now and I honestly think I'll keep playing all the way up to Gen 10 and beyond because the game is just that fun..

it's truly the combination of the verticality of the maps combined with the dynamics of the Titans that keeps the game fresh in my opinion.. Even the AI minions play their part in keeping the game fresh and fun..

To explain, in more traditional FPS like Battlefield 4, if I'm playing Domination, there's a really limited number of routes to take to the target area because everyone is camping any given number of other routes and entrances.. realistically, you're gonna either be coming down alley A or door B.. The rest are blocked/rigged with claymores or heavily watched by snipers.. You get my point.. Very quickly the game can degrade into a repetitive exercise in quick deaths from campers and snipers.. In addition, the "battlefield" becomes a virtual graveyard that seems dead because everyone is either camping or afraid to make the first move.. This is compounded greatly if you aren't one of the "elite" players who pours hours and hours into the game.. In Battlefield 4, these issues are potentially changed if you're in a party with skilled or playing on the larger Conquest maps that have vehicles but, in general, this type of frustration is the experience you get if you just hop into a game solo on the smaller maps..

great for competitiveness, not too great for "fun"..

on the other hand, take Titanfall.. Domination feels drastically different.. Not just because Battlefield 4 is more of a realistic shooter but because of the differentiating factors I mentioned earlier.. With that verticality, there are SO MANY routes to take to a given target zone, that truly camping one or two routes is counterproductive.. And you always feel like you're discovering a new way to traverse the map.. You got people camping inside the building?.. Instead of two entry points, there's eight.. There's also an ability to temporarily see through walls.. Or if the area is large enough, just bust up in there with a Titan!!.. The developers have done a great job of limiting the benefits of camping and rewarding those who actively pursue the action.. Which brings us to the AI minions..

I personally like that they are in the game.. At a minimum, they are there to keep the action moving.. Something easier to shoot at in between the more intense battles of fighting another pilot or titan.. They also give XP, so even if you're having a "bad game" and other pilots are owning you, you can still have a measure of fun and satisfaction from getting loads of XP from killing Grunts.. A Pilot kill gives you 100 pts while a minion kill gives you 20-30 pts.. Killing a quick pack of four gives you decent XP.. They also serve to keep the battlefield looking like an actual battlefield instead of a virtual graveyard in case people do start to play defensively and camp targets.. Even then, you still always have something productive to do with the AI minions running around.. In terms of E-Sports competitiveness, I can see the counterarguments.. But in terms of keeping the game FUN for both novice and expert players, they are a welcome addition and their implementation is almost perfect..

And don't get me started on how satisfying and diversifying the Titan gameplay adds into the equation..

anyway, I've ranted enough lol.. Obviously I love the game.. Everytime I get online there's an "Xbox, Record That" moment.. My favorite game type is Hardpoint Domination so far, I still prefer the Campaign mode even after running through it countless times, my favorite gun is the Hemlock burst-fire assault rifle, and favorite Titan is the Stryder.. All fanboy BS aside, believe the hype.. Stand by for Titanfall..

Ive gotten good at dropping Titans on other Titans for that insta-kill. Loving that. I also love how campers get murdered in this game. There are so many strategies and they seem to change daily as you play. Grunts expose pilots allowing you to kill them, which is a strategy in and of itself.

The speed of this game is incredible. I'm a Hardpoint maniac and taking a hardpoint from the other team is oh so satisfying whey try to camp ala CoD and you can send your Titan in after them or toss grenades through windows or use a Burn card and know exactly where they are. I do wish though that the escape shuttle was better armed or the fight there wasn't so easy to destroy it. If you have at least 2 Titans that thing is going down. Love the game and can't wait for the DLC with new maps.

funny, cause i rarely see it get taken down....nor do i often get to it in time

I almost always see it destroyed if there are two Titans present, launching rockets and firing. Usually the pilots jump out and add anti-Titan weapons as well and that does it.

Hmmm this was one long post I wouldn't have minded being longer. Read the whole thing, was very well thought out post my man. You put into words how I think Titanfall is a whole different animal of FPS in general. The things that made me get bored and stale of the FPS genre are pretty much non existent in Titanfall. Titanfall has single handedly made me enjoy the FPS genre again.

If you play with a party/group of friends, that shuttle is going down like 9 out of 10 times lol. Also depends on your weapons. Certain Titan weapons and Anti Titan weapons can destroy it faster I noticed.

^^hahahha it must hurt lems knowing the biggest game on x1 isnt exclusive.

not really X1 sold 94% of the sales lolz

What does that have to do with it being a multiplat? also, where are sales numbers from?

+ Digital sales are not taken into account which is what PC gamers do.. you know... buy digital.

Now that it's been 2 weeks since TitanFall's release and now that the TitanFall Sticky is gone, again for the second or third time time (I lost count lol), let's talk about everyone's favorite TitanFall moments. Are you still enjoying the game? What's your favorite thing to do in TitanFall? Lastly, what is or are your most memorable TitanFall moments?

Personally, I'm still loving the game. My drive to play it has not waned in any way and it still feels like I'm in the honeymoon phase. My favorite modes are Last Titan Standing and Capture the Flag. I have too many memorable moments that it's hard to pick, but I enjoy getting clever Satchel Charge Kills, Plasma Rifle pilot sniping kills, and agressive melee kills. I love to get up close and personal with my Titan; I will literally fist you to a pulp and gun you down til you're nothing but scrap metal! If you try to run away, you bet your ass I'm coming for you til I see your name in the death pool on the lower right of my screen! Currently, I'm a level 50 Gen 5 pilot, stuck there til I get my 50 Gooser kills so that I can finally regenerate to Gen 6. Anywho...

I made a video to showcase such wonderful enjoyable moments I've had with this game! I hope you guys enjoy, and please share your answers to these questions in the thread! I love this game!

This isn't system war enough material blog it..Or take it to the PC or xbox room.

I don't have gaming PC but the language on this aimbot cheater annoucement is hilarious.

http://www.titanfall.com/news/we-hate-cheaters-just-as-much-as-you-do

Q.) So what happens if I get banned?

A.) Great news: you get to keep playing Titanfall! Less-great news: you only get to play with other cheaters. You can play with other banned players in something that will resemble the Wimbledon of aimbot contests. Hopefully the aimbot cheat you paid for really is the best, or these all-cheater matches could be frustrating for you. Good luck.

^ This. El Tormo is still butthurt over Titanfall. Apparently 3,4,5, however many TF sticky's there were, they were not enough to heal his wounds. Get over it El Tormo, quit crying over such a godly game. Hurry up and buy a ps4 already so you can be at peace playing no games 4 life.

Going 10/1 in a match. I know to some of the almighty hardcorz here that's no big deal, but I am not a good online FPS player. Havent been this into an online shooter since L4D. I just wish I had the time to play it. School is culture shock, and tough. But I do love playing when I can, and this match I was looking at my hands like, who are you?

I am so torn with this game. It is really fun to play, has a lot of good elements. But I agree with some of the haters here the bots take away a lot for me just don't like it, should of made it 8v8 10v10 or 12v12 if they wanted more people.

This game is not COD, it could actually use a dolphin dive or knee slide. Doesn't have a hard core mode like COD I hate putting rounds into someone's back that is dead to rights and they just jump and turn around and pull off a head shot n I'm dead.

I do like it though it keeps my interest and I have to be fair and give it an honest chance, but once a new COD drops or even Rainbow 6 I'll be out lol

I love the bots personally. They're not their to compete with you man. I always use them to get my Titan out faster and/or build up my core ability as quick as possible. I also like to hide with them from time to time and get an easy kill. I also love hacking spectres and have them follow me, more easy pilot kills as they usually shoot spectres first when they seed a group and not knowing one is an actual pilot. Plus, they certainly make things seem very very lively. I for one appreciate their presence.

Nice. I've been doing that also. Just camouflaging in a group of bots then as someone without their guard up starts to fire at them just hose them.

The game got bored after 4-5 hrs playing. It's pretty much like Hawken and COD slapped together.

Bots are annoying. I get distracted killing bots while real human enemies are shooting at me.

I hope Destiny gets me back on playing FPS. As of now, it's just not the same.

Had a feeling people will grow tired of titanfall. Come on every fps multiplayer these days are human vs human. Bots are the worst and a lesson to learn from counter strike servers that were filling up bots when not enough players to start a match. I remember how stupid it felt to shoot bots. They seem to be worst than zombies because it stands around shooting at walls like dumbies while you get a clear easy shot of them. Played the beta and i did approached a bot. It was hip firing at nobody lol. I was like man where is the cloud computing at? Where's the competition?! I was on the fence to get titanfall on pc but after hearing titan players saying "bots make it less competitive" it reminded me of those stupid bots in cs.

cool. they announced on twitter last night that the 50 goosers requirement will be reduced to just 5....so well done you.

I am level 38 on my gen 2 now, and last night played the map called "overlook" for the first time, how the hell does that happen?

Yeah, I had read that they're changing it to only 5 goosers in a near future patch. I feel kinda cheated lol, they better give me a free TF season pass or something!

Damm, I guess it's possible to miss a map since there are alot of them lol

My favorite thing is to sneak into a titan battle at the end and fire the kill shot and getting credit to complete a challenge without doing any work.

My least favorite thing is wearing a titan down to low power and some other db sneaks in and fires the kill shot and gets credit for my takedown.
