I have about 5 controllers from over the years...
- Old Widewinder M$ one
- 2 random cheap ones from back in the day
- PS2 controller
- Xbox360 wired controller (use this most the time)
For sports game (Fifa12, NBA2k12), Fighting and Racing games I use a controller on PC. Everything else is K+M most the time.

Action games I prefer on K+M for the most part (besides Batman AC) and Platformers I think are slgith edge to controller but still some I prefer on K+M (Rayman handles great on K+M for example, as does Braid and Commander Keen).
K+M = MMO, RPG, FPS, RTS and City Builders
Controller = Sports (includes racing), fighting and sometimes Platformers
In Between/About Even = Action and puzzle games (some platformers I actually like on K+M though)
Just my personal opinion

and i never said you said it. i'm just stating i prefer something more intuitive than... that. Based on teh vieods it looks way better.Got some PS3 controllers, but a) they are mostly used to play emulated games, and b), to even get the controller to work with windows, you have to basically use weird outdated drivers that can be a **** to find, and may and may not work. Exactly like getting the old EyeToy to work as a webcam. The EyeToy can actually work as an extremly good and fast quality webcam, but finding the right drivers and setting it up, can be a challenge.

Motion in Joy makes using PS3 controllers basically painless.

Didnt know about those drivers. Sweet, thanks.
I just use a mouse but have a 360 so if a game I wanted to play would be better, I suppose I could use it. However I enjoy using a mouse/keyboard for any game that I am interested in on the PC. Though I don't play any fighting games on a PC and use a console exclusively for those.
Gamepad. Used to have a force feedback joystick but it wasn't supported for many games. I played X-wing vs TIE fighter and the mechwarrior-esque games with it and they were super fun partially because of the force feedback. I wonder why there was never more support for those joysticks or those kinds of games.
I suppose there was more profit to be made with other games. That shouldn't mean those games have to go extinct. Guess we need more developers.
Also PC gamepads suck in quality and support. We need more capable manufacturers as well. Missed opportunities.

This, and a Gravis Eliminator Aftershock in storage somewhere.
What a POS that was.
Oh, I also have my Wii remote.
Damn does every PC gamers own a Xbox 360 controller

Well I would have never bought one specifically for use on PC, but I have one cause I have a 360..

I bought a wired one specifically for my PC and I only own a PS3 and Wii. Here are a couple reasons why:
1) It's plug-and-play with Windows. As soon as you stick it in your USB drive you can start playing. You don't have to download external drivers from the internet like you do with the PS3 controller.
2) 99% of modern games support the 360 controller.
3) Let's face it, a lot of games just play better with analogs. Racers, fighting games, the Assassin's Creed series, and even the Arkham games all handle better (for me, at least) with a 360 controller, and many to-PC ports were designed for a 360 controller.
4) The 360 controller is probably the best controller of all time. It being fully functional with any Windows PC is the reason for any PC gamer to buy one.
Try using XPadder. I had some issues with motion joy as well but I had XPadder working fine. Only inconvenience is that you have to map the controls yourself. It works on any game though because it just emulates keys through the gamepad buttonsNone. I've tried using my ps3 controller with MotionJoy, but it never works right.

Microsoft hardware for Microsoft OS? Sure. Why not? Sounds like a good match to me. :lol:Damn does every PC gamers own a Xbox 360 controller

Besides, I had great experiences with current and past MS hardware:
MS Lifecam VX-7000 webcam
MS Sidewinder 3d Pro joystick
MS Sidewinder Gamepad
MS 802.11b wireless router
keyboard and mouse combos
XBox 360 wired controller
Better than keyboard.
Mr_BillGates
Joke??? Add me on Steam and get CS:GO. With it being cross-platform you can try to beat me. You use that Move controller and I'll use my m/kb. I would rather use a gamepad over a motion controller.
Oh, and if you want motion controlers on the PC, then just use mods or get the Razer Hydra, simple as that.
Well..duh. Some games work better on pad and unlike console fans pcgamers don't settle for inferior experience :)Damn does every PC gamers own a Xbox 360 controller

I have a couple of 360 controllers but I usually still use my PS3 ones, the extra drivers take a minute and you never have to mess with it again. I agree controllers are better for certain genres, though in terms of racers and fighting games, controller is pretty much **** compared to wheel and arcade stick anyways.
360 controller would be better if dpad wasn't so awful as well, PS3 controller might not be as good in some ways but with $2 L2/R2 clip-ons, you fix the controller's only major flaw, fixing the dpad on the 360 is a pain.
Are 360 controllers better then logitech when it comes to shooters?
NoodleFighter
I have only a Logitech wired Dual Action to compare to my wired 360 controller. I very much prefer the 360 controller. The 360 controller was great in Bioshock.
