Here it is would anyone here be willing to shell out that much for this game with Skate in the picture? I personally wouldn't.

Haha, are they for real? Huge pass.

I know, right? I could almost buy an actual skateboard with that much money...
If it's good then it won't be a problem. By the end of E3 we'll probably have a good idea on how it'll turn out. Increasing your game's price gives you the burden of delivering exceptional quality. In other words, if they expectme to pay that much, this better be the best Tony Hawk game in years.
Is this not the same as a Guitar Hero game with a controller? Juggernaut140
$89.99 MSRP, but can often be found on sale much cheaper.

Besides, Guitar Hero is a game that would be boring as hell with a standard controller. While skateboarding games aren't."If you were worried that would make it cost a bit more, you should know that it might make it cost a lot more."
I lol'd.
That price is ridiculous.
Surely, there must be a package of just the game.

I used to get great decks w/ quality trucks, wheels, bearings, etc, from CCS and Active for around $120.
This is a rip.

I guess its more about the experience rather than the gameplay itself, You and your friends can always just sit there with the standard controller and play something but when you get up to play guitar hero or rockband, its all different.

I'm sure they're quality boards too

Skateboarding games need a special controller to be fun.$60 for the game and $60 for the controller, that's really not so bad.

Those are complete garbage. A good prebuilt will probably run you about $120.

Since when?? Most of the TH games were great with the standard controller..Skate 1 and 2 brought innovation to the genre with the standard controller..
This is nothing more than a gimmick to bring attention to a dying brand...

A good skateboard is by no means a piece of wood on wheels.
Send the game to the Wii, since its proven quite often wii fans will buy the inane accesories for that system.

Since the beginning. Skating games on a regular controller are the gimmick. What's the point?[QUOTE="masiisam"][QUOTE="psychobrew"]

No you could buy a really nice skateboard for that money. This is really amazing to me. The Tony Hawk games needed to go back to their roots and make them more like 1-3l Instead they go and make some stupid plastic skateboard and charge you like you are buying a real skateboard.Really cool controller? I think I would have to kill myself if I ever stood on that hunk of junk plastic thing. So people are willing to spend $600 on a console, but $60 for a really cool controller is too much?

It'll sell like hot cakes. You can sell anything to a console gamer today. Even if it was a piece of crap in a cool looking package.
Here is a tip Activision. DO NOT release a game that costs that much in this economy. You basically just ruined your sales for this game before it even releases.
To a PC game, too. The only difference is that the PC gamer would pirate it instead of buying it.It'll sell like hot cakes. You can sell anything to a console gamer today. Even if it was a piece of crap in a cool looking package.

Nah. I always get my games from a retail store/Steam, but I never trust the marketing hype.
And I'd never buy those plastic guitars, drums and similar overly expensive crap. It's just ridicilous.

I was not talking about you.
Just in -very- general terms. This kind of games, marketed well and nicely packaged, can sell well among console and PC gamers alike.
