those are Very High settings with some tweaks and mods.

Just to show how great Crysis is, here are three shots comparing Crysis with real life.

It's not too difficult to see which one's which, but the fact that these comparisons even exist say a lot about just how good Crysis' graphics are.

I'm skeptical of those shots. Obviously Crysis is the best looking game out there, but I've seen lots of gameplay footage and none of it looks as good as those images. Am I just seeing footage running on medium-low settings?

If somebody could point me in the direction of some actual gameplay footage that equals those images, I would be grateful. Gorgeous images nonetheless, though.

Those are mine, I took them. Legit 1280x1024 framebuffers. Some are old and some are new and it looks like that but sharper when playing. Its also a constant 30-40fps with some few spots/situations at 25fps. 1280x1024 16xAF vsync enabled on a E8400 HD4870 at stock Vista x64.

its funny though since the lighting and SSAO has been barely modified in the settings.

There's no big following that says otherwise. The TC just felt defensive and insecure in regards to Killzone's recent hype, so he forced Crysis into the equation so he can feel more confident about his consumer choices.

See its Tresspasser from 1998 buffer grab in miniature.

But KZ2 looks good, some parts average and others really good. Competitive amongst the top tier console games. Though its not anywhre near the hype built up around it it still employs nice things. Just have fun with the game when it comes out.

I had already taken the opportunity to show you gifs of Killzone that weren't off-screen. You ignored them whenver I pointed them out to you. Then when I showed you the multiplayer trailer, which was indisputably not off-screen, you ignored my point about game's motion once again and just pulled individual screens from the trailer for the sake of criticizing textures..

You dont think Crysis looks even better in motion to? All games do this but the amount isnt that significantly more than buffer grabs except if object motionblur is well done. Like in Crysis where it not only makes it look even more lifelike but smoothes out "animation play".
