na, Nightmare Creatures is still better. I would have respected you if you said Castlevania Symphony of Night, but most of you were in diapers when that game came outDead Space > All

lol For me it would be Silent Hill 2.i think cod mw2 was the best horror game. what a horrific experience

Nightmare Creatures for the PS1 is the best horror game ever made. Silent Hill and Resident Evil weren't as cool as this game.notforkidsGame is pretty bland and average to say the least
Ok, I'm possibly the most morbid person you'll ever meet. I've played the Silent Hills, Fatal Frames, Call of Cthulhu, Clive Barkers Undying, hell, I'm a member of a gore site (don't judge me D: ), and nothing even comes close to Amnesia. No game has left me paralyzed with fear due to the pure grotesque horror the game portrays perfectly. Wandering around a dank castle dungeon before you lamp unexpectedly runs out of oil, leaving you in the pitch black darkness is enough to make even the most hardest grown man sweat. The only correct answer when the question "What's the scariest game ever made?" is asked is Amensia: Dark Descent. Don't believe me? Buy it, play it, and I promise you you will agree. :P
I've heard nothing but good things about this game. I might try it some day.Ok, I'm possibly the most morbid person you'll ever meet. I'm agree with this.
But i also have a deep respect to Silent Hill 3, still one of the best atmospheres i ever seen in a videogame.
I agree 15 minutes with he demo at night didn't scare me too much but that was with my gaurd up and a few prayers to God. So its safe to say that if I were to finish the game I would have hard time topping it. And I'm a very morbid person as well (I write horror novels :D)Ok, I'm possibly the most morbid person you'll ever meet. nightmare creatures was terrible, i hope the TC is joking.
the best horror games in my opinion are condemned: criminal origins, silent hill 2, dead space (in some parts), resident evil 1&2, alone in the dark (when i was a kid this scared the **** out of me), hell (3do classic), fatal frame 2, d (sooooo underrated), eternal darkness, system shock, 7th guest, the thing and resident evil remake.
i'm trying to talk my friend into buying amnesia just so i can come over and play it. it looks terrifying.
Amnesia: The Dark Descent literally eats anything deciding to call itself survival horror.
For the lesser tier titles, you have the Penumbra series and Fatal Frame.
Silent Hill for me. The atmosphere is still very top notch even today. I will probably add Amnesia with it too once I beat it.

Never heard of it but looks like it got a 5.5 on GS so...
Silent Hill 2 is the best by far for me atleast. SH1 was good but 2 was genius and no other game scares me as much. Theres also Penumbra and Amnesia though which are damn scary on first playthroughs
Nightmare Creatures is one of the worst games I have ever played.
Amnesia is the only right choice for "best horror game"
Silent Hill 2, the best mood ever set in a horror game. so bleak and foggy, everything from the environment to the music to the monsters gave me chills
[QUOTE="Arach666"]i've heard this thing is great. unfortunately, all i have is an old mac laptop. not sure i could run it. Yeah, you're missing out. Amnesia was amazing. Here is your answer.
I don´t remember any other game making youtube let´s players poop their pants this much.:P

Amnesia is the top horror game. I have played my fair share of "horror" games. None live up to the sheer terror Amnesia brings to the table. Never in my life have I been so scared after stopping the game. Silent Hill 2 is also a great horror game. Dead Space is a joke, though it is a good game.

Amnesia has fairly moderate requirements. What are the specs of your Macbook? Here's the demo if you wanna give it a try / see how it runs. :)
