ive played silent hill, fatal frame, dead space and Amnesia. while amesiea the dark descent was the scariest of them i liked dead space the best

Dead Space not horror....? I'm gonna need someone to explain this one to me...

Action/Horror would still be horror, just with a little more action thrown in the mix. Dead Space to me was like a combination of The Thing and Alien, which both are horror movies.

Nightmare creatures isn't scary. Penumbra is the scariest game I've played (after Dungeon Master when I was like 10 and I used to crap myself when the torch went out) Haven't played Amnesia yet but I intend to.Fried_Shrimp

Just after Amnesia I bought the Penumbra collection and I finished it yesterday. In terms of scariness I must say that Amnesia is way ahead, but I think I liked the story and the physics puzzles more in Penumbra. Anyway, both are games which shouldn't be missed by horror fans (unless you don't like slower paced games with sneaking and puzzles). Also - H.P.Lovecraft fans (few as they are amongst modern day gamers :)) will appreciate Amnesia ...

To me it´s between Code Veronica and Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare (one of the most underrated games in history).

Dead Space is definitely horror, it just wasn't all that scary imo. :P Too many pop up corpse moments. It did have some panicky moments though. Great game. :)

Silent Hill 2 for me, though Amnesia truly is a phenomenal game.

I'm going to do that too now that I finished Amnesia. Her Silent Hill 2 LP was really funny, though she's funnier when she does a blind playthrough. I started watching her first Amnesia video, this is going to be a riot lol.

Anyway, Amnesia was great. I also have to give Silent Hill: Homecoming a shout-out since no-one else will. It was kinda boring until the last hour which was unbelievably good. Once I got the combat down I had a blast with it. Its the only game I regret trading-in this gen...

Resident Evil REMAKE

the blood-zombies were and still are the scariest things I've faced in gaming... I would always run out of lighter fluid or forget... then that screeching they make sends chills down my spine.

I like Dead Space, I think the sequel is going to make it a more action based game. Really hope the scare factor is on point with the original.

The Suffering , probably one of the best ever!!!!The random voices throughout the game made you want to play with the lights on.

The first Silent Hill is still no.1 for me, I plan to download Amnesia really soon though (as soon as I get a good pair of headphones I think, this game looks like it deserves them and I dont like using buds at my pc).
