gunplay has so much more to do with it that effects and recoil. it's about how fun it is to shoot and kill. In some games the excitment comes from the skill it takes to utterly destroy someone. the feeling of pulling off a sick kill is much more important than any recoil or effects will ever give.

1. GRAW for PC

2. Uncharted II

3. BF:BC2

Though HL2 isn't the best in any of those catergories, the overall package is better than all of them (imo).

Anyway on topic...

Bad Company 2. The guns feel solid and the sound effects are awesome.

Killzone 2. Sounds great, looks great, plays great, and the AI is great. Sort of speaks for itself.

FEAR by such a wide margin it isn't even funny. Runner ups would be uh Killzone 2 and Bad Company 2 I guess to some degree.

FEAR by far. that game was way ahead of it's time.

GTA 4, FEAR (the original), and Stalker: Call of Pripyat.

Farcry 2 deserves an honorable mention (despite the fact that most people hate the game) its gunplay was pretty goodSilenthps

Gunplay to me means it feels natural and I could care less about the rest.

I love the old school feel in games as opposed to this clunky new movement and gunplay they have. Two of the things that should be kept out of arcade shooters, like reloading.

I really like how people are listing F.E.A.R. I feel that it's a game that no one ever mentions even though the gunplay in that was insane. I didn't list that in my top just because I haven't played it in a really long time and I wanted to make sure I'm being accurate.

So it's pretty much F.E.A.R., Killzone 2, Counter-Strike games, and BC2 that are up there?

1. Resistance: FOM simply for the ingenious weopons, such as the Auger and Hedgehog nade.
2. Unreal Tournament. Flak Cannon. Nuff said.
3. Killzone 2 for the visceral experience.

I really love the feel of the guns in Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Plus they sound great as well, so whats not to love?

Battlefield Bad Company 2, Crysis, Killzone 2.

Those shooters have the best feel for the weapons.

Honestly, KZ2 has one of the best, visceral, intense, most satisfying gunplay i have ever felt, since:

• It has the best weapon models in gaming...Honestly no game can even compare to how amazing the weapon models look
• The particle effects created/formed when shooting the gun
• The incedible sound effects when the bullets are fired, and the sound created when the bullets hit their target (whether it be an object, or NPC/player)
• The weight and feel to the guns as you move/shoot

Any list that doesn't have Killing Floor on top is wrong.

Bad Company 2, Left4Dead2, Halo3. Gears2 has the best third person gameplay

Gears is my own personnel fav. the sound of the guns, the blood effects and the active reload make it the best gunplay in a game for me.

and by looking at many of the responses in this thread I really got to go give Killzone 2 a chance. It's on my to do list.
