Yeah becausee not having Madden on your console is the sure way to get sales lol. EA drives tons of sales. They are the most profitable 3rd Party company. If you do not do good business with them then EA's Legion of casuals will go else where. Hence the PS2. Sega was already in huge financial difficulties and not having EA onboard only makes a situation worse.

More and more games will not be on the PS3 because of numbers like this. Why would a developer spend more money on a console because it is harder to developer for when the software sales from that console are horrid but instead just make games for the other consoles and PC where it is much easier to develope for and a much greater return.rybe1025

Madden 08 less then 500k when 360 already has sold over 1 million

Heavenly Sword only 220k

Lair only 190k

Folklore only 80k

Dirt only 80k

NG:S only 260k

First week of sales for Simpsons game the PS3 came in at number 39 out of top 50 and Sony paid for TV ads showing only the Playstation logo.

These sales are horrid. Any develioper would be worried as heck to make a game for a console that sells like this.

And yet Madden 2007 outsold Halo CE in one year and came close to Halo 2. You fail to realize that EA pumps out these titles and numerous other franchises in yearly installments. And no Halo doesn't easily outsell every game besides GTA. Because there are games like Madden that push insane units every year. Gran Turismo, Pokemon, and not to mention EA's very own The Sims.

Never said it wouldnt sell a console, but you said its going to have a higher install base by the time GT4 comes out...second, the 360 is the lead platform for the game with extra game material, so you think PS3 might have a chance at beating it in sales?..

And Halo has a flaw...it's not a multiplat. You think that may lower it's sales a bit? How many would it sell if it was 360, PS3, Wii and PC on day 1?

Halo is a monster, that thing easily outsells every game expect for GTA. Which is going to be a bigger monster as Rockstar expects to ship 9 million for launch between the 360 and PS3.....Jeez thats alot.

See when you say it easily outsells every game except GTA you are implying eveything including games not from EA. Or are we going to retract this statement. Regardless of which The Sims (by EA) sold 16 million on PC alone. Yup and that's not multiplat. So much for Halo 3's weakness eh?

No retraction, you are combining sales of all systems and I am not. And tell me, how many of those 16 million are exspanison packs? My sister would buy those like she needed them to live.

And you say I OWN MYSELF? I said it would have a higher installed base which you laughed off. And how do you know the 360 is the lead platform and both have downloadable content. And no, the 360 version will sell more because the PS3 will have to outsell the 360 for longer than that to get a bigger base.

Well of course its going to sell. (You'd have to be an idiot to think otherwise lol) But EA's presence drives sales. Facts prove this man.

I never said it doesn't drive sales, just not as much as you think it does.

i dont buy EA games on the psp because they dont put effort into the game....just like FIFA08 on the psp looks like crap compare to ps2, sims2 psp loading time is crazy....
