[QUOTE="super_mario_128"]There is no contest, I cannot believe the poll. The games are leagues apart. OoT wins by a real long mileTylendalThat's odd, I disagree with you  It's all a matter of opinion. Sure we can both disagree with each other. And then we will post arguements for why the game we are arguing against sucks so bad (when those problems are minor). And then at the end someone will butt in and say OPINION. And then the cycle continues
I'm going with Ocarina. Twilight Princess is based off of everything that Ocarina did, so it's not as amazing a game as Ocarina.
I saw it fit to give Ocarina a 10, whereas i think a 9.3 is very fitting for Twilight Princess.
Both are amazing games, but Ocarina is a revolution and Twilight Princess is still a great game, but I don't care what the little kids of GS who never played Ocarina say, it's without a doubt the better game, and one of the greatest of all time.

Completely agree, TP tried to be a OoT perfected. Didn't work. Thankfully nintendo say they'll make a completely new zelda next timeI'm going with Ocarina. Twilight Princess is based off of everything that Ocarina did, so it's not as amazing a game as Ocarina.

If I had to play one again now, I'd got for TP, it's the better game.Nintendo-WiiWhen you compare them side to side....TP is the better game. But alas......nostoligia blocks the minds of the OOT fanboys.

I'd say people greatly overexaggerate its quality. But the whole nostalgia bit applies also.

Rotfl why is it so hard for people to accept that some people liked more TP then OOT. Why not be surprised with the Majoras Mask preference as well? And again, I have to completely disagree with the people that think that OOT is an ALTTP wanna be, for alot of reasons really.

I'm not surprised at the MM preference because I honestly think they're just kidding if they stay that. Also; I'm making a theory that says if you're young and didn't experience OOT at launch or during that era, then that means you wouldn't understand the impact that game made when it came out. Everyone has their own opinion on matters, that's fine. I'm just trying to use information to help form my theory. Call this thread "research" for me.
TP was pretty bad in terms of Zelda games. Brown52How was is bad in terms of zelda games? It's one of the best yet.
Well, if you compare the two today Twilight Princess wins hands down.
If you compare the two when they first came out, nothing beats first playing a Zelda game in 3D.
here is my rankings of all zelda games I beat (didn't actually beat zelda II since it was very challenging lol):
1. a link to the past
2. twilight princess
3. wind waker
4. ocarina of time / majora's mask
I'm with the group of people who thought ocarina of time was over rated. However, I'd give all 4 of these at least a 9.0 rating but none a 10 because no game is perfect. Oh yeah and original legend of zelda I'd give slightly under a 9.0... maybe a 8.8 or 8.9. That would be my #5. original legend of zelda was improved in all areas with its successors.
edit: forgot majora's mask

Actually, people really do prefer MM to OoT. Plus, I played OoT in 1998 and I still think it's overrated.
Twilight Princess was an insult to 3D Zelda games, (next to the CD-i games, and Zelda II) it was the worst Zelda game I've ever played. No, I'm not being a fanboy. I've beaten: - Minish Cap - Ocarina of Time - Majora's Mask - Wind Waker - Oracle of Ages - Oracle of Seasons - The Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past - Zelda IIproject343WOW....:o

OoT was the best. Every new Zelda game improves on the last and that is what TP did. It is far better than OoT in every way except maybe story.

Twilight Princess on the Wii.
It's just better in every respect compared to Zelda: OoT.....and the Wiimote, IMO, adds so much to the experience. I don't know if I could enjoy a 3D Zelda without the Wiimote now.
And yes, I played through OoT twice. Once on the N64 and once on the GCN.

Yes, this is not 1996.both are excellent games... but if i had to make a choice... i...i.. dont know really... OoT time feels more cozy, warmer... you know... the kind of game you like to play when you want something..... arrgh i cant describe really.... arvikatarni know exactly what you mean. very well said. b xx
I agree I voted for Twilight Princess Because if you play OoT today it wouldn't feel like it did back in 1998 because it isn't 1998 it is 2007 and Standards changed sure OoT was great back in 1998 because it was the first Zelda in 3D Twilight Princess couldn't revolutionize Zelda because it was originally suppose to be only on the GCN, so they couldn't revolutionize it much, but the next one that is Exclusive to the Wii it will Revolutionize Zelda the same way OoT did in 1998, But in terms of Atmosphere Twilight Princess surpasses OoT.I suppose Ocarina of Time was better for its time. HOWEVER, if you play either one for the first time, you won't magically transport back to 1998 nor conform to its standards. As unreasonable as it sounds, comparing them side to side is probably the only way to correctly judge them. Otherwise, things like nostalgia and childhood memories get in the way.
So I vote Twilight Princess.
