[QUOTE="Vaasman"] It's definitely called Confrontation. How can you hype the game if you don't even know what it's called? Beyond that, gears at this point is much more fun and probably more popular.

Hey you know what I just caught that, ha.
Anyway here are some of my opinions.
Score: Gears of War 2 will most likely outscore Socom: Confrontation
Sales: Gears of War 2 will most likely outsell Socom: Confrontation
Story: Gears of War 2 wins by default since Socom: Confrontation is multiplayer only.
Weapons: You will have more fun in what you could do with your weapons in Gears of War 2 than Socom: Confrontation.
Characters: Characters in Gears of War 2 will actually have personality and a story behind them.
Maps: Gears of War 2 will have more unique maps.
Game Modes: Gears of War 2 have more unique game modes, meat flag for example.
Tactical: Gears of War 2 will be more likely to be more tactical since you can go 2 on 2 to 5 on 5. It's kinda hard trying to be tactical when you have 32 players.
Graphics: Debateble. Both will looks good and look the way they're suppose to look.
Controls: The 360 controller is designed for shooter games.
Music: Since Gears of War 2 actually have a campaign mode there will be music that will follow the situation you're in making it more exciting.
Headset: The biggest reason I'm getting Socom, without it I don't think I would get Socom the month it comes out.
Overall: I'll enjoy both because I'm getting both, but I just have a feeling I'll enjoy Gears of War 2 more. Plus Socom: Confrontation isn't from Zipper games the devs for the original Socom games, so you just gotta be skeptical. Just like COD from IW and COD from Treyarch, one is better than the other.
Gears of War 2 chainsaws Socom: Confirmation in half any time of any day.
i'm going to have to disagree with you on a few points:
weapons: "fun" is up to the individual.. i, as an individual, may have more fun with the weapon variety and realism of the Socom offerings for example
maps: how do you know Gears will have more unique maps.. the Socom series is known for it's Map design.. some of the maps from the original are timeless (which is why they keep bringing them back in the new titles due to extremely high player demand)
game modes: once again how do you figure Gears will have the more unique game modes?.. Extraction (where you save hostages) remains one of the most unique game modes in a tactical shooter to date..
tactical: you seem to forget that you can still have 4v4 matches on Socom aswell on scaled down maps.. its just that you can also have 16v16 games with everything inbetween aswell.. there's obviously more tactical options with Socom given the higher number of player matchup combinations (whether it be 2v2 or 16v16) and map configuration possiblities.. Socom wins hands down..
controls: the PS3 controller handles third-person games just aswell if not better than the 360 controller.. look at reviews of games like DMC4.. when it comes to FPSs, the 360 controller usually gets the win.. but when it comes to nearly everything else, the PS3 controller gets the nod.. this includes thrid-person action/shooters...
music: are you kidding me?.. who knows how good/bad the music in these upcoming games will be?..
