two big shooters- Gears of War 2 vs. Socom: Confirmation

You certainly need to brush up on your Socom knowledge. Socom 1 is still being played today online, as is Socom 2.

Gears just by default...

I love Socom...but no single player??..WTF is that all about...we are on "Next Gen" systems in 2008..with huge storage capacities..

Weapons: You will have more fun in what you could do with your weapons in Gears of War 2 than Socom: Confrontation.

Characters: Characters in Gears of War 2 will actually have personality and a story behind them.

Maps: Gears of War 2 will have more unique maps.

Game Modes: Gears of War 2 have more unique game modes, meat flag for example.

Tactical: Gears of War 2 will be more likely to be more tactical since you can go 2 on 2 to 5 on 5. It's kinda hard trying to be tactical when you have 32 players.

Graphics: Debateble. Both will looks good and look the way they're suppose to look.

Controls: The 360 controller is designed for shooter games.

Music: Since Gears of War 2 actually have a campaign mode there will be music that will follow the situation you're in making it more exciting.

Headset: The biggest reason I'm getting Socom, without it I don't think I would get Socom the month it comes out.

Overall: I'll enjoy both because I'm getting both, but I just have a feeling I'll enjoy Gears of War 2 more. Plus Socom: Confrontation isn't from Zipper games the devs for the original Socom games, so you just gotta be skeptical. Just like COD from IW and COD from Treyarch, one is better than the other.

Maps: Definitly Maps, if you say gears then you obviously never played a socom.

Modes: There are 7 different modes in socom for each level so socom wins.

Tactical: you got to be kidding me with this. Gears 2 is not more tactical than socom. Thats just being a fanboy.

Graphics: Gears 2 easily wins this one. Socom cant compete graphic wise with gears 2. Only Killzone 2 can compete.

Music: It really doesnt matter, everyone has different tastes.

Do you have any IDEA how much tactics are in SOCOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more tactical than rainbow six, and cod4. have you watched videos? And why would u call me a fanboy??? I praiseed gears too about the graphics, sells, controls, story and SCORE!

Out of the two ... i like Gears more.

But SOCOM is a GREAT game, in every way i can think. It's like ... perfect. Gears just appeals more to me, sometimes realism gets boring, you know?

Wow, I love Socom and I am anticipating it more than Gears of War 2, but you would have to be an idiot to compare them.

I don't understand why you Socom fans are on here trying to tell people that Socom is better than Gears. It's called opinion, live with it. Oh, and the only reason nobody cursed on Socom was because you had to press a button before you could talk.

To the guy that said "get fios" in response to the other guy who said no matter how many times you shot someone they wouldn't die. The game was full of glitches. He was probably referring to a Code 9 guy who didn't abuse Code 9 but instead just had invincibility.

You guys love pointing out the good things in Socom and the bad thing in others. How come you never mentioned the insane amount of glitching? There was never any point in voting them out either because once someone started glitching, someone on the other team would and it would become a glitchfest.
