Naughty Dog = 4 AAA total titles.
And again, Uncharted 2 is what catapults them into the stratosphere.
They definitely deserve to be on the list.

Wow 4, congratulations.
Out of those 3 Bioware easily wins. But seriously just these three? You do know the poll has 5 inputs right? I mean you could have picked anything from Valve, to Nintendo, to Rockstar, to Bungie, to SquareEnix/Soft, to Namco Bandai... the list goes on and on.

Any others? They've made what... 25 games? And only two of them can manage an average AAA status? And how does that make them compare to developers like Nintendo who have released two AAA+ games in the same series this generation.Shoaka

4 AAA titles in 26 years. Yeah, they totally deserve to be on a best of all time list. Blizzard made more in what, half that?[QUOTE="Shoaka"]

2 crappy developers and one who is losing their touch, nice poll you got there. To answer your question Looking Glass Studios has the best catalog of games and everything they touched was pure gold. Coming from a guy who stumbled across their games in about 2006 by the way.

Blizzard don't need to make tons of titles because their games are fun to play for like 10 years, they are the king of online games :D

Bioware = 0 AIAS GOTY Awards
Blizzard = 1 AIAS GOTY Award
Naughty Dog = 1 AIAS GOTY Award
problem with award shows 1- They are award shows that have a stupid academy. RE 4 for instance was not nominated in 05 because Capcom isn't part of the academy. That is highway robbery 2- It's an award show. So obvious **** ups, wtfs and royal snub jobs are always taken into consideration 3- Competition. For instance pulling off a GOTY in 1998 to me is far more impressive than say pulling it off in a year like 2008(well aware Uncharted 2 was 09)Also, the one thing I can't help to give a personal deduction from Bioware, All of their Great games seem to be all from pretty Much from 1 genre.
the Mass Effect series is borderline shooter territory(hell 2 is a shooter, but that's an argument I'm not willing to get into). Also, the one thing I can't help to give a personal deduction from Bioware, All of their Great games seem to be all from pretty Much from 1 genre.

All right then, if AIAS GOTY awards are what dictates who is the best developer, then Infinity Ward, according to you, is in fact the best developer of all time (Cod 1 and Cod 4 both won it).
You're really grasping for straws aren't you?

You've brought some good points.
I'm actually fairly impressed by you even knowing what the AIAS awards are.
Props to you.
But I have a question...what's wrong with the competition in 2008?

There's a few reasons they aren't making the list. 1 genre...virtually defunct, not a whole lot of history.

So you have to make games in more than 1 genre to be one of the best developers now?problem with award shows 1- They are award shows that have a stupid academy. Nothing it's solid, but 1998 is like the omega of all time great years. Being GOTY in that year is just more impressive. I mean I love RE 4, but I thought it's competition in 05 was basically what? GOd of War and Shadow of the Colossus? Where as 98 is OoT, Starcraft, Half Life, Resident Evil 2, Grim Fandango, Fallout 2, Metal Gear Solid, and that's just basic stuff off the top of my head. If I had a year that was legit crappy It would probably be a better example than 2008 : PSo you have to make games in more than 1 genre to be one of the best developers now?soulitane

So I guess making platforming and shooting games makes you the most diverse developer in the industry?
I've already pointed out a fewpages back, Nintendo have produced a much more diverse range of games in different genres than ND. So once again, using your logic, Nintendo deserve to be on that list more than ND. They are also definitely not defunct, and have been around longer than ND.
didn't you love DR? cuase that's the epitome of pop corn action "zombies: guyGiancar

I see what you mean and kind of agree, but I think if a dev makes constant AAA quality games not matter if they change genres they would be one of the best.soulitane

Uncharted 2 is more hollywood blockbuster. I just think as a third person shooter not much has the shooting/enemy AI/pacing to really match it as an action game. Vanquish was more fluid and all that, but dat lack of enemy/boss variety and lack of upgrades was disheartening.

I can't think of any developer who relies on only one genre and consistently pumps out top-quality games.foxhound_foxCreative Assembly rarely does a non-Total War game Nintendo EAD 3 only does Zelda Nintendo EAD Tokyo has only put out one game that wasn't a (great) platformer, and that was Flipnote Studio.
For the record, Naughty Dog has made RPG's and Kart Racing on top of their 3rd person shooter(s) and platforming. Heck....they've even made a crappy fighting game before
They have shown proficiency across multiple genres...that's why Naughty Dog had made the list.

I am sorry to say but that poll is fail
Wheres Nintendo? Wheres Valve? yet you include naughty dog?

Because Blizzard is a better (and more influential) developer.Since this is all time, and the Baldur's Gate series is included, I don't see how anyone could vote against Bioware given the competition presented.

If we are talking RPGs only take a look at Black Isle: Fallout, Fallout 2, Planescape Torment, Icewind Dale 1, and Icewind Dale 2. 2 of the best open world RPGs of all time, the best story in an RPG (not to mention some of the deepest philosophical ideas) and some of the most challenging (but satisfying) RPGs on the infinity engine.
Compre that to Bioware (I'm gonna ignore MDK and the like):Baldur's Gate 1, Baldurs Gate 2, Neverwinter Nights, Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, and Mass Effect 2. 2 of the best games in terms of interaction and enemies (Irenicus' speeches give me shivers every time I hear them), a game by itself is trash but was made great by modders, an OK game that is pulled down by its license, simplified piece of crap with a bad story, a throw back on the older WRPGs that fell short in everything but ease of use and mods, and 2 shooting gallerys that take away the freedom offered in RPGs for a linear corridor shooter/rpg.
I have respect for what Bioware used to be but ever since KotoR they have been losing momentum. Dragon Age wasn't bad but it wasn't great either compared to the older games. Black Isle pumped out quality from the time their doors opened until Interplay shut them down because the morons couldn't manage a studio, note I'm not even including Troika or Obsidian who are both reformations of the Black Isle studios and have some amazing RPGs like Bloodlines and Neverwinter Nights 2 (who actually handled it better than Bioware I thought).

How is copying someones work influencial? Starcraft is a ripoff of Warhammer 40,000 (Blizzard couldn't get the license so they blatantly copied it and passed it off as their own), Plants vs. Zombies in Cataclysm, DotA in Starcraft II, and Left 4 Dead in Starcraft II. If anything they are the ones who are influenced.
Edit: To make it clear how Blizzard copied Warhammer 40,000 lets take a look at the 3 main races. Terran, Zerg and Protoss. Compare that to the Imperium of Man, Eldar and Tyranids. The Imperium of Man is a group of humans who serve a god emporer that gave them the superhuman armor at the cost of genetically altering their bodies to the point of not being able to survive without it, Eldar were a once glorious race who had very strong magic but lost most of it after squandering their power and destroying most of their civilization, and Tyranids are a race of insects that are controlled by a hivemind that wishes to consume everything to evolve more rapidly.
Naught Dog is a strange choice to be up there seeing as how they made only one game that many agree is superb and a bunch of just good games.
Nintendo is probably credited with having the most "Masterpieces" I can think of and they continue to create masterpieces (SMG2) without hiding behind a cinematic experience. It's pure quality gameplay and level design craftsmanship as a game should be IMO
Theres no greatest game dev imho. I do have some favorites... Blizzard, Starbreeze Studios, Frictional games (love the penumbra series), Cave, bethesda
