Uncharted 2 is shaping up to be the most overrated game this gen.

TC did you even bother to play the first game? Also nothing this gen has beat Halo 3 yet in terms of being overrated.

I was talking to my friend who has a ps3 and we were discussing E3 and which games we can look forward to, needless to say one of his first statements was 'god the uncharted 2 demo looks so amazing'. This perked my interest so I found the video later that day, what I saw was nothing amazing, it was mediocre or maybe good at best, I really don't see what all the fuss is about.
sure the graphics were very very good looking but the gameplay looked unimaginative, like a 6 or 7, semi polished but boring.

Usually you don't tend to get thoughtful replies when the original post isn't even a paragraphs length.

It's hard to justify spedning time explaining what makes a game good when you are simploy going to respond with one line restating what you've already said.

Uncharted was great because it looked fantastic, had an entertaining and well presented plot and most importantly of all the pacing and gameplay were excellent. Enjoyable platforming with fluent animations, great level design and a large amount of variety with the gameplay. The shooting mechanics wern't fantasic, but they were enjoyable enough.

There's alot to like about Uncharted, but I'm not going to go into great detail about it.

Well judging by your profile ratings (Too Human 9.0 among others) you're an Xbot. Uncharted 2 looks amazing not just because of visuals but because of the diverse gamplay of shooting, platforming, cinematic adventure and what appears to be a great multiplayer. =)

Also funny that you're not impressed by this while rating crappy gimmick games like Red Faction: Guerrilla with a ten 10 but that's a side note.

Just like the original, the only thing making me pay attention to this game is the graphics. I don't plan to do anything more than rent it when it comes out... if that. The only thing that would make me entertain the thought of buying it is if it gets a splitscreen mode like Gears and not just online multiplayer alone.

the last game barely scraped an AA score. it was a mediocre, repetitive gears clone with dodgy climbing, insipid characters and facial animations straight out of the uncanny valley the combat was jank as wellhy4k

usually people respond with thoughtful replies / arguments when there are questions / arguments worth thinking about... usually when fanboys create threads (like the one you did in here) with the sole intention to bash, its a waiste of time proving you wrong... I don't understand why PS3 fanboys are hyping this mediocre game as their next AAAE. The first Uncharted was boring. The puzzles were too easy and the story was ok at best.

Uncharted 2 will be lucky to score anything over 7.5. The visuals (which is the only thing Sony fanboys care about) won't save it.

nope, GTAIV is easily the most overratedgame ever. Uncharted 2 will be a fantastic package, great coop, mp and sp....i dont see how that could be less then 8.5. im hyping it AAA though after playing the beta

Man it looks like Uncharted 2 is gonna be the next KZ2 with the amount of overated this and not that great that, I can hear the arguements now, "oh Unchated isnt that realistic its to bright and colorful" "man the multiplayer is just a gears of war clone with platforming built in how inovative" :roll:or "It's too drab the real world isn't gray and brown only, might as well call it grayzone" whoops wrong game. :lol: Someone said it before, doesnt have to be ground breaking or innovative to be deserving of hype, the game looks pretty good visually, the story for the first one was standard fare but the characters were engaging, I mean i got attached to Nathan and Sully, To me sully reminded me of a Bruce Cambel type of character for some reason, The second one the story so far seems as engaging as the first and some people are part of the beta for the multiplayer and so far from the posts that i read here the majority seems to like it with some gripes here and there. So how is this game overated if by the looks of it it has a pretty solid single player and pretty solid multiplayer, the main things people look for in games these days. If anything games like Too Human, Fable 2, Little Big Planet are games that are overrated they promised so many things but delivered on only a few.

Coming from someone who beat the first one and is currently in the Uncharted 2 beta, I STRONGLY disagree. Naughty Dog doesn't mess around.

This Uncharted bashing is really lame. If you didn't like the first and think the second looks the same, then don't play it. Your opinion will not change my mind because I'll be playing this game the first day it comes out.

This is the only game i can say with faith that will not be overrated. what ive seen and played is so good that someone at naughty dog would have to rewrite the story set it in a baron wasteland of nothingness where it has been invaded by fluffy mutantwallabies after someone ate an icecream for it to be overrated.

see with that the same thing can be said about any other hyped game coming out, Mass Effect 2 for one, updated visuals same game mechanics but with added stuff like the conversation interrupt thing i read somewhere. There are alot of Mass Effect fans clamoring for this game does that mean it shouldn't be fussed over just because it's gameplay footage. The thing with gameplay footage is thats all we have to go on right now game footage, and unless your lucky enough to be part of the beta for the multiplayer for uncharted then thats the only way to really get a hands on of the game, and from feedback from forums and the media coverage it's all been good so i think the game as of now is deserved of its praises.

Because, as all cows do: Hype the graphics first then gameplay later. Remember Killzone 2?
