lol Everyone knows it wont, stop trying to pour gas into a flame war. According to you people that brag about sales, Wii Sports, Wii Play, and Wii Fit are the top 3 best games of this gen. Yeah, that's what I thought. Stop bringing up sales. Nobody cares. Nobody ever has and ever will. Sales will never be a reflection on a game's quality. If anything, they're a reflection on a game's marketing, fanbase, and mass appeal(aka n00b appeal on some games).[QUOTE="Messiahbolical-"][QUOTE="ActicEdge"]
So, Uncharted 2 for 2.5 million copies in 2 weeks right?
DoomZaW
how come 1.5 million players online every day 2 years after a games release doesn't reflect quality?
It doesn't. I'm sure more than 1.5 million people a day play Wii Sports worldwide, does that mean it's a better game? :| Halo games are popular because of the millions and millions of dollars of marketing that went behind them and also because it was the first good game on the original Xbox, so it gathered a following quickly due to the Xbox's lackluster library at the time. Then the people that bought the 360 most likely bought it because they liked the original Halo games, so wanted to play Halo 3. Uncharted 2 doesn't have that following yet and it doesn't have all that money of mass marketing behind it yet either, but that doesn't change the fact that it's already shaping up to be one of the best games of all time.lol Everyone knows it wont, stop trying to pour gas into a flame war. According to you people that brag about sales, Wii Sports, Wii Play, and Wii Fit are the top 3 best games of this gen. Yeah, that's what I thought. Stop bringing up sales. Nobody cares. This thread is about killing Halo. What are you going to kill a AAA series with? A AAA game? Naw, more like your game comes out and makes everybody forget about the series it killed and vastly outsells it. So yes, this is entirely about sales.
I never said anything about killing Halo. Halo will never die, it has a huge following and mass marketing. Whoever made this thread obviously doesn't understand how much profit Bungie and Microsoft are making off the Halo games. I'm just saying stop talking about Halo 3 selling 2.5 million copies in 2 weeks like it matters. We get it already... we've known this for years. It's not surprising. Halo 3 was all over people's Mountain Dew cans, the 3rd most popular soda in America after Coke and Pepsi. The marketing for Halo 3 was great. It had it's own show on MTV during launch showing celebrities playing it. Etc etc. My point is, Uncharted 2 will never have that kind of marketing because it isn't as mainstream yet. So don't compare Uncharted 2's sales to Halo 3's sales like there's really even a point.Because there are OTHER games on the 360  PLus Halo 3 is constantly on the top weekly XBL player list,[QUOTE="Wii_Gamer_277"][QUOTE="GreyFoXX4"] Why isn't there atleast 4-5 million playing it a day then?GreyFoXX4
What other games? Cod series? Or a demo?
Try splitting communities with Socom, R2, KZ2, LBP, cod series and heck even Fat Princess, its always rolling with 32 player games lol and theres still a mgonline community going. And right now the communities are getting split just because of the MAG beta and U2 demo lol.
I'm sorry but there is alot of quality mp games/shooters to play on the ps3. Where as the 360 its Gears, Halo and cod series. Not only that but not really just one game defines the Playstation brand, where as Halo defines the xbox experience. I find it crazy when I meet someone that ownes a xbox and don't own Halo3, I just scratch my head lol.
So you're trying to tell me that the ps3 community is too split up between 4 games? Ok..there's Halo 3, Gears 1 (yes ppl play it), Gears 2, Left 4 Dead, Cod 4, Cod 5, ODST, Forza 2, Battlefield 1942 etc etc..but yeah 360 owners don't have any quality mp games to play.Because there are OTHER games on the 360  PLus Halo 3 is constantly on the top weekly XBL player list,Wii_Gamer_277

This is incorrect. The 360 is still ahead in the number of A, AA, AAA, and AAAA exclusive titles. What people play online and AAAE's are only part of the equation and to ignore intelligent timed exlusives like Mass Effect is to completely ignore why Microsoft is ahead in software sales, hardware sales, online support, and an experience that millions prefer as opposed to the PS3.

So, what you're proving here is that Microsoft was smart for rushing their console to the market to gain a lead in sales? I mean, that does make sense.

PS3 has sold at a faster rate than the 360, but do I care? No. I don't get any benefit from sales, I couldn't give a **** if the PS3 sold 10 consoles worldwide. I'm a gamer, not an investor. However, the PS3 has surpassed the 360 where it really matters, exclusives. And it did that even with the 360 getting a whole year head start. You don't want to acknowledge that though, because you know it's true but you'd rather pretend it doesn't matter. Guess what, it does. And the PS3's going to leave the 360 in the dust next year with over 10 exclusives, while the 360 only has 4.
You know what? Sony has spent minimal amounts of money advertising their games this gen compared to Microsoft and they're still selling well. It seems like Microsoft have been too busy spending all their money advertising their games where Sony is spending their money actually buying up all these new exclusives. I don't have a problem with that. Sony can spend all the money they want on new exclusives, I couldn't give a crap if Uncharted 2 sold only 4,000 copies as long as I get to play it. Look at Nintendo, they're making all that money on the Wii yet they're still not putting their money into buying up new exclusives... instead they take the easy route and just rehash the same stuff they've been making for decades. You'd think there'd be all these amazing new IPs on the Wii with all of the money Nintendo's raking in constantly.... but instead you have new IP's like Wii Sports, Wii Fit, and Cooking Mama. Why? When are people going to realize that there is no Halo killer? Nothing on the PS3 is going to stop dedicated Halo users from playing Halo and as much as I'm anticipating Uncharted 2, you are insane if you think it's going come anywhere near the sales or the amount of matches played daily that Halo has. PEOPLE ARE STILL PLAYING HALO 2.
Just tossing in a few grams of common sense here.
