25gb of space means jack sh*t when it comes to the blu-ray disks used for the ps3. the drive is so slow that data has to be copied multiple times. meaning that 25gb is really about 15 or so
Wouldn't it need to be on the 360 as well to really say that blu ray is "outperforming" the 360? How can it outperform something that has no benchmark to compare..?
tidbit - In an interview with naughty dog on the beyond podcast they said they could have used more than 25 gig but they didn't want to risk delays in the printing process by using dual layer

That still doesn't change the fact that it probably will not need to load during the game if it is similar to Uncharted 1. I could care less of what the space is used for as long as it runs great which I have no doubt ND will succeed in.

really now? DVDs can and do play 1080p videos. its just a resolution the only thing it affects is space. hell a CD can play 1080p video. its a matter of space.

That is a lie. The Blu-Ray drive in the PS3 is actually SLOWER than DVD. Why do you think some games require mandatory installs?

yes the 2x disk speed is slower technically than an 8x dvd but the issue is that theres more data to be read on the blu-ray. the 2x is reading data as fast as a 6x or 8x dvd

actually because there is so much data on the blu ray disc 2x bluray is too slow, uncharted doesn't use very much redundant data it uses a technique called dual loading, It uses an extensive cache on the ps3 hard drive which is why the intial load of uncharted is so long, it continues to load data at all times till this cache is filled with the most commonly used data in the game it then loads simultaneously from hard drive and bluray to make it load faster and seem like there are no load times.

How dare you?!?! I couldn't stand to watch more than 3 minutes of his blathering. If I was lame, I could Google info, and act like I'm the one confirming the dates for releases too. Not only will I never get those 3 minutes back, but I also lost an additional 2 minutes for my brain to reboot. I really dont see anything special about uncharted 2 for me the gameplay reminds me off a blantly rip off of gears of war..Now that's not a bad thing since there are a slew of games that incoparate these mechinancs,The graphics on the other hand looks like uncharted 1 but a little polished..
