A mid range card 2 years ago,is basically 2 or 3 generations ahead of what the PS3 and 360 had if not more.

The fact is that PC get not counte most of the time,because it gets new hardware all the time,you are not running BF3 on mid or max setting on a X1900 which is basically what the 360 has,you are running it on a far more advance GPU,even that it was mid range 2 years ago,and that is the reason PC games are not countend,and they probably never will.

Ppl who compare PC to PS3 don't understand technology, they are not in the same league.

O please performance results are still the same in both fields, MIPS is MIPS, GFLOPS is still GFLOPS and MB is still MB.. it seens that you dont understand yourself while the fact that the PS3 uses Pc hardware to begin with cough cough the RSX a gimped Geforce 7800 chipset(G70), Yes it is true that they are not in the same league but most likley not the way you think.... Low ended gaming Pc's run circles around the PS3...

O please... it doesnot take much too to outdo a console so why does it need to use 100% when the problem of multiplatforming (limited by consoles) and the vast amount of people still using 4 year old tech. Companies want to reach out to as many people , but they are plenty of games that do and did use 100% of the a hardware's ability. the Differences show in framerate, graphics quality,resolutions, and size of a levels ineraction area for the player.

Huh? that does not make any sense what so ever people choose what size monitor or TV they want that can be a 720 or 1080 tv or that could be 1280x1024 to a 2560x1600 monitor. Or even span multiple montiors creating even a much greater resolution. the difference between consoles and PC's at 1080 is that PC renders games at 1080 while the majory of console games are rendered at 1280x720 or lower like 1024x600 and then updcales the image to 1080. You loose quite a bit of quality.

Combine this with console devs pushing the hardware to the wall, and you can understand why the difference is quite small.

O come on now no matter how much they push a console it can still only do what the hardware will allow. 256mb of video memory is still 256mb of memory and a gimped 7800 gpu is still a gimped 7800gpu ie 150 gflops vs a normal 7800gtx 200 gflops. They cut and tone down what they can to be able to fit all that data on that small bit of memory at any given time.

Screenshots don't do this topic justice because screenshots are digital.

Just because it's on a console doesn't mean it's all impressive, given the hardware it's impressive, but the game itself isn't impressive when other games beat it, the fact that people are more impressed with worse graphics baffles me. Is this how tech moves forward, because if so, standards have been lowered. You realize console games have lower standards in graphics right?

I know the reasoning, but I believe that reasoning is flawed. If the game looks better it looks better. There is no denying that fact. PC games like BF3, TW2, C2 all came out this year and look better than anything on consoles. Just because the consoles have older hardware and are able to produce good but not great results doesn't mean they get the title of Graphics King. That title goes to the game that actually does improve and push the boundaries of gaming graphics overall. And that includes PC, consoles, handhelds, tablets, whatever. The way your logic goes means that we should consider 3DS games to be graphics king because they run on weaker hardware. Flawed logic huh.

Good for you I do too, welcome to the club :P But the majority of people bashing Uncharted are people who have never played the games before, then they go and say Gears is better which is silly because it's not even the same game! Besides 3rd person shooting/cover mechaninc (which Uncharted handles better btw)they have NOTHING in common with one another, not at all. Anyone who has played both games knows this....

I say choose the version that has the controller you prefer, the online service you prefer, or if you prefer Trophies or Achievements, or if you care about extra content.

Digital Foundry focuses on tech analyses, which are important for developers and industry professionals as a way to gauge a console's capabilities and the ways in which they present visuals. They are not fanboys and nor are they writing for fanboys. Simply because you don't understand their purpose doesn't make their writing nonsense.

I would argue that Lens of Truth is more for the fanboys because they don't get anywhere near as in depth as Digital Foundry does and usually focus on nothing more than screenshot comparisons and comparing two different games like Halo Reach and Resistance or Crysis 2 and Killzone, which are completely nonsensical comparisons, to me. Digital Foundry is for tech professionals and those who have an interest in the technology behind games and yes, even the comparisons between multiplatform titles have plenty of merit.

I am not saying that there is anything wrong with wanting to know the technical aspects of a game, what I am saying however is that I think it's stupid to compare multiplats which I find DF to do just like Lens Of Truth and that is what makes them dumb.

I use my own eyes to judge a game but I haven't seen the FF13 on 360 so can't comment on that. I have seen others though like Oblivion for isntance and people say it's better on PS3 but I think it's exactly the same as 360, RDR was supposadely better on 360 (well at least here on SW) but I have the PS3 version and I didn't see a difference between them when I played it on 360.

Oh I played RDR at a friends house on her 360 because she couldn't find the treasuers lol and I didn't see any difference between the 2.

lol I guess, I found it funny because both lookthe same to me. Just like the Batman AC thing, all these people were saying one version was better than the other and I was just like "what the hell are you guys talking about" I have no idea so I have come to the conclusion that these people were lying.

Shouldnt the fact DF said basically the same thing about Gears 3 and Uncharted 3 end the debate? They said both games were some of the most impressive looking out there, which makes any opinion valid.

And there is nothing wrong with that, it's your opinion and that's all that's important. But IMO Uncharted 3 smashes Gears 3 into the ground, but we are both right lol. Again though what do I know, I'm the same guy who thinks multiplats are the same on both systems :P

IMO though multiplats are the same and these comparisons are pointless unless it's something that is actually serious like Bayonetta at launch, othewise it doesn't matter. I say choose the version that has the controller you prefer, the online service you prefer, or if you prefer Trophies or Achievements, or if you care about extra content.

Otherwise I don't see any other reason since it's the same exact game. But hey you can have your opinion just like everyone else.....
