So after a day I'd still give the game a 9/10.
The game is an overall improvement and technically and mechanically the best in the franchise. However the game really does nothing new as I got what I expected. Still I'd say they figured out how to balance the action with the platforming. While neither aspects are the best, I think the overall package works.
There are parts of the game where I felt it dragged on but unlike UC3, there are aspects of it where I didn't feel like was a complete waste of time. I am serious when Is way that UC3 sucked and I believe ND understood the criticisms.
I would not give this game a 10 because I do think there is still room for improvement. The gunplay is better but could feel better overall. Platforming I feel is smoother then the previous games but could be even more smoother. I like the stealth elements but once again, that could be improved.
The story sucks but then again it is Uncharted so I wasn't expecting much. However on the positive, I don't hate Nathan Drake in this game as I did in the previous games.
If I were to rank the last five ND games on consoles:
- Uncharted 2
- The Last of Us
- Uncharted 4
- Uncharted 3
- Uncharted
UC2's train and helicopter aspects bump the game ahead of UC4. It is hard for me to compare UC4 to TLOU but TLOU did thinks better from a gameplay aspect. Narrative wise I don't want UC4 to be like TLOU.
If you disliked or hated the Uncharted games then this game won't convince you otherwise.
Lastly I thought the ending was decent. I say this knowing that most video game endings suck so the standards are low.
@Blabadon If you want to know what my current thoughts are on the game.
