Uncharted 4 delayed to April 26th in NA, 27th in EU, and 29th in UK

Let’s start with the good news: Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is wrapping up production and is shaping up to be the proper send off for Nathan Drake that we’ve promised you. The bad news is that we need a bit more time to finish the game so that it meets our standards and vision. Let’s cut to the chase, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has a new release date in North America of April 26, 2016.

This is our largest Uncharted game to date, and the team has been working incredibly hard to meet the challenge of closing out the game’s development in a timely manner. However, as we approached our final deadlines and started wrapping up the game’s levels, we realized that several key sequences needed extra resources to bring them to the finish line. After carefully considering all of our options, we decided to extend our schedule, making sure that we get a few more polish passes before submitting our gold master (the final disc for manufacturing).

Pushing the date is not an easy choice, and we wouldn’t do it if we didn’t feel in our hearts it’s the best course of action for the game. To you, our loyal fans, we hope you’ll accept our sincere apology. We know many of you have been waiting patiently for Nathan Drake’s final chapter, and now we humbly ask you to wait a bit longer.

On April 26, 2016 the most ambitious installment in the Uncharted series will be in your hands.

It's really only a Month after, no big deal, and the game will be great as we all know it will be. Buuut however, it looks like Quantum Break on the other hand will have some competition despite it's release April 5th and it looks like April 2016 has got even interesting. Lucky for me, I should be finish with Quantum Break before A Thief's Ends arrives April 26th.

On April 26, 2016 the most ambitious installment in the Uncharted series will be in your hands.

I don't think anyone is surprised with this expected delay for a Playstation game. The cycle usually goes like this: Sony announces a bunch of games with TBA or TBD release dates, one by one those games end up being delayed, downgraded or cancelled but by the time anyone really take notice, Sony has a new list which also includes games that was on the previous previous previous list to keep their consumers hyped by the lists. Hopefully this will be the last Uncharted, since this franchise just doesn't seem to have anything else for it to expand anymore.

Wow this is a joke. Not that it's been delayed but you would think it would have a worldwide release. Playstation keeps screwing over the Europeans and the British.

Well it's just like new movies and this is fittingly quite close to a movie!

Only a one month delay? I can wait. As others said, I would rather play a delayed finished game than a broken one.

It's only a month's delay, so it's no big deal. Take the time to deliver the product you want to, rather than the product you have to because the market demands it.

Shouldn't be an issue since according to some Xbox-haters on this board this will be the best thing to come out since sliced bread and will easily best Rise of the Tomb Raider, so another month for guaranteed quality is a non-issue in my book.

@Alucard_Prime: Eh, it's just another Uncharted. I have no doubts it'll be great for what it is, but the series stopped being exciting for me a while ago, and now it's just more of the same, but shinier.

Only a one month delay? Cows have had a two year delay so far on "greatness awaits" so I'm sure they will manage.

Wasn't too excited for this anymore anyways, just tired of a lot of sequels really. But it's good they delayed it to polish it completely, we don't need another broke game on the market.

In all seriousness though, I would rather them take the time, and make sure the game is as close to perfect as they can before release.

Its perfect because April 5th I will begin Jack Joyce's mind-trip, time bending journey in Quantum Break then at the end of April I will see which Thief's end it turns out to be. I say Sully in a real heart wrencher.

Could this be another genius Sony move in delaying it a few weeks? They delayed it this year because they didn't want it going up against the big hitters or so cows have been saying. Can Sony BE anymore of genius?

On a serious note, I guess this blows the theory cows had about this years launch.

For some reason I have no hype for uncharted 4 and I thoroughly enjoyed 1-3. Luckily for those waiting for this, it's only a few extra weeks.

I preferred when ND created new ips every gen and left old ips with the old systems. I feel like I had enough experiences with Nathan on the ps3 and that's why I'm not hyped for it. Just my feelings on it though. I'm sure it'll be a great game for fans of the series and newcomers alike.

I have 800 games I still need to play. They could delay it until 2017 and I wouldn't care.

If it means more polished game on release then why not.

A released game is released forever but a delayed game is delayed temporarily.

I'd rather have a polished delayed game than a shitty broken game released on time.

This gen and it's broken and buggy games has taught me the value of patience when it comes to game releases.

And people still think Last Guardian and Horizon Zero Dawn will be out next year LOL.

Who said you were going to get a finished/ unrushed product ? you get your game and a 30 GB update to fix the bugs followed later by a couple more updates to iron out what the first update couldn´t fix.

By the time ND finishes that game it will be released in the next gen.

I like how people are trying to twist this into a negative thing and applying it to other first party games. Because team ICO and GG are Naughty Dog right?

Remember Xenoblade X delayed for how many years? How about Quantum Break?

Alright, another month to finish Uncharted 3 first. The wait is going to kill me.

Originally it was supposed to be in 2015, then got delayed to March 18, 2016

At least I had some fun in the multiplayer beta. I can wait.

This is just like the month delay TLoU got.

IDK why ND is making a habbit of delying their games by a month just a 3-4months before release.

Since this is ND, I trusted.

That is not why is got delayed the first time.

It got delayed to 2016 because the team change hands, Amy Henning ad a few left and TLoU crew took over.

I see.. well hopefully its for the best. IMO the option to delay must be fully exercised when completing any kind of project.
