Although I agree Uncharted looks better, the Alan Wake screenshot is from a very early version taken from 2006, and correct me if i'm wrong, that Uncharted pic is probably from a newer build.

But I have no doubt that Alan Wake will be the overall better game.

i have a question for cows hyping the high colour and brightness of the uncharted screens; where does natural light come from? the answer is the sun, so why in a jungle, with trees and foliage all above you, would it still be as bright and sunny as being on the beach?marklarmer

also the denim reflects light, cos its a special type of demin thats 10x better than any type of clothing in any 360 games, so it must be brighter aswell.lol.

I'm really excited to see how the 360 version will hold, because the PC version in motion is incredible. The lighting is bar none the best I have witnessed in gaming, and I dare say the physics rival Crysis.Innovazero2000

Ok, the environments in Alan Wake are far more impressive than those in Uncharted.

I have not seen the PC version but the trailers for the Xbox 360 version did not impress me at all.

Well Google search the PC version. Technically, I think it's better than Crysis. Graphically, I think Crysis wins.

ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU! THAT IS THE FOREMOST REASON WHY IM NOT HOTT ABOUT UNCHARTED.

There are many games on 360 that I think blow Uncharted's graphics away, The open-ended free roaming many many hours of gameplay, not just 10-12 hours, game AlanW. being one of them. They are building it specifically for multiple core CPU's and In this area 360 has a large advantage when speaking of consoles. The physics in the game alone are a selling point & the graphics are what next-gen should really look like instead of some grease covered plastic bloom surface. The 360 version of this game is being developed right behind the PC version and I truely think it will push 360 to the limits especially since its a 2008 title & will be the closest thing consoles have to Crysis level tech.

The name "Bright Falls" has a meaning. The game promises to have photo-realistic graphic qualities, realistic pixel shading, and dynamic shadows that change according to the position of the sun. To avoid lags and hangs, the game will benefit from a high end PC and the Xbox 360.

Alan Wake was demonstrated at the Intel Developer Forum in September 2006, running on an Intel Core 2 Quad processor clocked at 3.73GHz. The demonstration took the form of a tech demo, showcasing engine features such as day/night cycle, volumetric light, weather and physics. It was revealed that the game engine is multi-threaded and able to make full use of all four cores, with separate threads for physics, graphics & sound processing and seamless streaming of world data. It is therefore likely that the Xbox 360 version will also require the Xenon CPU's three cores which have a total of six threads.

It was also claimed that the game is unlikely to run on single-core systems, but hyper-threading enabled Pentium 4 CPUs may be able to run it with significantly reduced detail

I personally think that Uncharted is going to be 10X more fun than Alan wake...

So far I have not seen anything on Alan wake to get impressed about.  Uncharted on the other hand looks and is going to play amazing.   If you are a Game Informer subscriber, and you read the issue with Uncharted in it, you would be pumped for uncharted as well.

And I agree with the TC, from pic's Alan Wake looks like a HL2 mod, not very impressive at all.  Videos do games justice, not pics.

I have that issue.. they seem to be stoked about the animation but thats it. Its doing nothing new, nothing at all aside from how they are able to "stack animations." Drakes Fortune seems like the typical "Person hunts a treasure on a distant Island, Person gets to the island only to find out someone else is already there" storyline. Very, very Tomb Raiderish.

Did you miss the part where Alan Wake is absolutely huge, has a crazy viewdistance, large scaled vistas, and dynamic weather and day/night cycles? But yeah sure, the animations in Uncharted are better. Judging by what we've seen so far.

And you also need to take into consideration that the last time Alan Wake was shown was in September 2006. The game won't be released until the first half of 2008, at the earliest. That's around 18 months.

yup this is what I'm waiting for.... I believe the only video footage shown so far of AW was from a QUAD-core CPU setup..... how much will that cost.......?
