The water in HL 2 from 2004 looks as good.. a 3 year old game..

While cCysis water looks a little better.

Well thing about water is that you can't improve it a whole lot from where it is now.

Why is it so hard to imply anything to anyone on this forum and have people understand? Jeebus, obviously crysis has better water effects than uncharted, everyone knows this - it's not a fair comparison. The title of the thread is just fanboy opinion and illogical.

it's safe to say that believable water isn't the problem anymore (halo3, Bioshock, Halflife2, even some Wii games...).

The character animations are really great though, and only rivaled by maybe Killzone2. I love the concept of stacked animations that change as the gameplay changes. great that this gen makes that possible.

since you have never been in a jungle, being shot at by people, or since you have never jumped from large distances like that, i dont think you would no how to run in real life situations, not every one runs te same, not every one moves the same. think about that before you use running animations from movies you see, instead of actually getting up from your pc and running your self.

the water is not dynamic enough .. the dude walks in it and almost nothing happens

With all this hype and day after day of Sony fanboys going on and on about Uncharted that game better be absolutely great. Last 2 Sony games that were that hyped were Heavenly Sword and Lair. QFT HL2 water looks at least that good. Not that I'm hating on it or anything, but PC's have been doing that for some time. The only thing that can get better is the physics of the water. The wading effects are just that...effects. Soon water will have realistic physics and instead of just being an effect it will actually be rendered and the water will move based on physics calculations rather than preprogrammed. We are going to see that kind of thing in games like Far Cry 2 and other games coming around that time. Current gen consoles are not capable of producing physics enabled water.

The game still screams "been there and done that" to me. I will stick to upcoming releases like Mario Galaxy and Mass Effect. Those games seem to offer something new to me. The running around, shooting, exploring games were cool 10 years ago when Tomb Raider was new. The only thing Uncharted seems to have going for it is good graphics. It is a realistic-looking platformer and that's is what Sony seems to sell best is platforming games. God of War is a platformer too if you wanted to know. That is not enough for me. If it was I would just have a super highend PC with the newest games and I wouldn't be here writing this.
