What games are finished these days? Don't try and claim console games are. So I guess the complaint is "PC Dev way more honest then EA" Besides, how is this any different then letting you preorder DLC/season passes?
Billy Bullshit thread is Bullshit. .
@lostrib: Sorry Sir, it was brought up durring my first real encounter with his 'work'. Given his campaign against some of my most adored features of Steam, Early Access and Greenlight, it sticks with me.
I don't care if anyone out these hates early access. If you don't like the idea don't buy into it. Just don't try to take The Forest and Space Engineers away from me because people have to read a little before buiying games they know nothing about from Devs they have never heard of.
Translation: Rant rant rant rant rant rant rant!
I believe it has something to do with them setting up their retail supply chains or some BS like that.
Uber really hasn't really grasped the idea of Kickstarter or Steam Early Access. Good thing their incompetence with their marketing and business is not a reflection of the quality of the game. Planetary Annihilation is great.
Wrong try again
It's not like console games never have day 1 patches zzzz
Well, I guess Ill just keep on trying.
Yuck. What a terrible concept. I guess it's for people with data caps with their ISPs? That's assuming there are actually disks in there are not just a steam key alone. Of course you will still need good internet to update and more importantly play online (the game's focus, if I'm not mistaken). Which leads me full circle... I don't get it.
Lol! What garbage pc gaming is
the "garbage" can run any superior version of any game.
@system-reboot:
Can't run the last of us. Can't run uncharted. Can't run demons souls. Can't run little big planet. Can't run mgs4. Can't run journey. Cant run god of war. Cant run infamous. Can't run dragons crown. Can't run heavy rain. Can't run resogun. Can't run vanquish. Can't run dragons dogma. Can't run puppeteer. Can't run ratchet and clank. Can't run soul sacrifice. Can't run gravity rush. Can't run Toukiden. Can't run persona 4, can't run tearaway, can't run red dead redemption, won't run Bloodborne, won't run the order, won't run uncharted 4, won't run Destiny...
I could go on...and also dive into exclusives from other platforms...but I think you've learned your lesson.

Can't run (List names of loads of PC games here)
I could go on...and also dive into more exclusives from the same platform...but I think you've learned your lesson.
There, i just did what you did..... :-/
PC games are never finished at release. At least these guys are honest.
On PC, the beta test never ends.
Then why does PC have more aaa-aa games than consoles every generation?
Because of actual facts...something they clearly do not deal in :(

You're posting again? Translation:
Until season passes and pre-orders stop existing, this thread is just plain dumb. Ranting about how horrible it is to get to play your pre-order instead of just waiting has to be the most ridiculous complaint I have ever come across. It is like consoles have never had beta access as a pre-order bonus.
This thread sort of reads as If people place a higher value on disc-based gaming.
I just wanted to post that joker gif.
the thing about this which i find so silly
is
that
the download for planetary annihilation was only about a gig.
Since the advent of the internet in gaming, when was the last time a "finished" game was released at retail?
I really dislike this trend early cash grabs with partially, sometimes broken games. I am abit hypocritical though, seeing as H1Z1 will be a day 1 early access purchase for me.
My advice would be to only trust well established devs.

I wasn't kidding, that can fit on a floppy disk !
lol, but seriously, I'm sure the game will get bigger with more content and a singleplayer. It's probably the simple (yet good looking) artstyle that keeps the size down

You'll be glad to know, the game will be free 2 play.
Or are you talking about people buying into alpha/beta ? That could be the case, I don't know if it is.

oh yeah. i was wondering if the box contained a set of floppies with a disk-spanning ARJ.
but seriously, this boxed version is available for sale over here too, I can't imagine it's got any more content than the content available on steam.
yeah i love the art style. keeps the frame rate high when things get busy.

Haha, that is some old school stuff we are talking about.
Nope, you'll get exactly the same content. But I mean that the game will get bigger over time as more content is added and perhaps cutscenes in SP can also increase the size a lot.

Then why does PC have more aaa-aa games than consoles every generation?
So why is highest rated pc game on GS the first Diablo (9,6score), a game that came out almost 2 decades ago? that the best PC can do?
So why does consoles get the highest rated games?

That has nothing to do with what he said
@R4gn4r0k: i love talking about oldschool things. set prompt = $p$g
yeah absolutely man the game will get bigger by the time it's done.
but that's exactly why this boxed version doesn't make sense to me now, at the present moment.
i mean, what's the deal? the disc is totally static, once it's made - it's made. so, in 5 years time someone with that disc is only installing 1 gig of content, and it's possible some percentage of that might need redownloading anyway because it gets patched.
plus like, what is the point of discs with pc gaming? well in utilitarian terms the advantage is avoidance of downloading (might be slow, might have a bandwidth cap, etc). but then the download is only about a gig anyway. so you know, i fail to see how this is really helpful.
so, i just don't see how this is really sensible. i guess for some people even downloading one gig is a pain, but even so, why would they buy this? once the retail game is released if they reinstalled from the disc - i predict they'd have a lot of downloading to do in order to bring the installed content from the disc up to the release standard.
just my thoughts on the matter.

Because their owner companies payed for them.
