I know a few of you are upset in light of certain events that will not be discussed here so I feel the need to take all the poll-less threads off the streets of SW and make one with a poll.
Should we, the forumites of SW, continue to use GS scores as god when determining if a game is a flop or not?
Debate all you like about business practices but do not discuss the recent events in detail.
Also, after you vote, post about why your supported source is credible or any other things you need to say about it.
Wow I was just thinking about making a poll like this. I like Metacritic because the site is easier to navigate through, the reviews and scores are clearly presented, plus the average score is usually posted earlier than gamerankings.
Don't use any of them, any gaming review site that recieves money from game developers are suspect, only user reviews are reasonably safe, and even then not to much so because ever game has their fanboys and haters...
Yeah the other websites may be biased as well, but the average scoares via metacritic just seems to be a lot more accurate. Mass Effect low AAA. Assassin's Creed AA. Ratched and Uncharted high AA, etc. It's hard to have a skewed bias one way when you average ~20 scores.

A scandal of this magnitude and there's still scabs (my name for GS fanboys, if they can call me a sheep, I can do this) out there trying to defend this site?! It's proven to be corrupt, disown the companies (reviewers can be debated, but pressure put on them in instances like these can't be good), go with GR.

I agree. I have my beefs with the reviewers here but they shouldn't be pressured just because the parent site locked a big ad deal with a publisher or developer.
Who are these kids telling ppl to leave if the don't use GS?
Anyway I never used GS..Its up to you guys w/e you wanna use.

To be honest I'll use gamerankings here from this point forward. I once "held true" to the time honored "OMG we're on GS, we use GS reviews" concept, but today has made me not care anymore about that old tradition.
So whether this thread agrees with me or not, does not matter. I will from now on call my "flops" or "AAA" (or what ever other related drivel) off of gamerankings.
I guess my hope is that the journalistic integrity lost might balance out with multiple review sites/pubs.

I voted metacritics, simply because if a unjust site puts in their review, the SW community could always report it and have it deleated. However, gamerankings is great, too.

Yeah, there have been a handful of us saying that since the last vote on scores in SW.
I find it funny that the only two alternatives you listed were also part of CNET's system of sites. I refuse to support them at all anymore. I'm keeping my Gamespot account for the forums, but I have adblock enabled and I will no longer be reading their reviews or anything to that effect.

Well I put them there because they take an average. I don't care what site we use but Cnet doesn't control the sites that are averaged so its a little bit more I suppose. You can use whatever scores you want.
