JRPG's are a dime a dozen. Only one I'm even remotely interested in there is the FF RPG's. Other then that, heh.

As much as I enjoy the Pokemon RPG games, they're mostly the same game everytime just with a couple new features, pokemon and a new setting. In sales Pokemon will crush but in quality games like Tales, Ni No Kuni & Disgaea 4 will be much better.[QUOTE="FlamesOfGrey"][QUOTE="SaltyMeatballs"]You forgot Pokemon 3DS, probably coming out next year (maybe in Japan first?) which will destroy anything you just listed. Also, Paper Mario 3DS next year. From what you listed though, only Ni no Kuni is remotely interesting.Yangire
I disagree, Pokemon may add only a few features but things such as new moves, abilities, and new Pokemon completely change the metagame. The quality and depth the Pokemon games surpass those of the ones you listed.
You need to play Disgaea before making such claims

I have the Disgaea forumla gets old after 30-40 hours, it's nowhere near the depth of Pokemon.

those all look horrendous.

horrendous to you is amazing to me 8). cannot wait!
Dude, everything is amazing to you ..... only when it's on PS3 :P .... but I have to agree wz him, most of them are bad, and the good will never get released.

Im sorry you feel that way, all the above games are great games for me and im too excited for each one of them.. yes each game listed is a must buy on my side
It's good that you feel that way. They are not must buy for everyone however. The XBox 360 does have RPG's, but they are only being released in Japan. We've only gotten 3rd party WRPG on the 360 here in the U.S. Also, are the release dates you listed for Japan or U.S? Are all of these titles confirmed for U.S. release? I always see people list tons of JRPG games and then it turns out only 2-3 games are actually coming to the U.S.I'm already playing WKC2 amazing game the only bad thing so far is the story xD but the gameplay and the extra new contents (side quests, hunts, errands..etc) are top notch I'm still in the first part in the game with over 50 hours gameplay and I didnt even touch the online yet :P also I'm looking Forward Rune factory oceans, Disgaea 4 and SRW OG and for the rest they are either so far away, bad or didnt confirm localization yet :P.

Yet Pokemon gets boring after less than 5 hours well at least for me I never was able to get into any pokemon game they get too boring very fast.
^ I love pokemon, but I have to call BS on pokemon being deeper than Disgaea. I could play through pokemon in a coma. It's accessible by design. You know, so little kids can play it too?

Have you ever looked into Pokemon or are you one of those guys that constantly press attack to win against the AI? Pokemon is accessible, but it's far deeper than Disgaea.
You can get Rune Factory anywhere. There are 3 games on the DS and 1 on the Wii. i believe the PS2 has a couple games as well. Only games I care about are the FF XIII games, Tales games, WKC2 and maybe Neptunia 2 (after I get the 1st one). The only game I'm even remotely interested in is Rune Factory.
OneSanitarium
Xenoblade
Dragon Quest X
The Last Story
Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny
Rune Factory 4laus_basic
Yeah.. he didn't even touch the DS JRPG. There are way more JRPG's on the DS for obvious reasons. I already have about 20 DS JRPG's at home. Still trying to finish the DQ series right now. Also playing Nostalgia. I'm hoping and praying for The Last Story and Xenoblade. They may not make it to the U.S. At least not anytime soon.

I guess it depends on what you mean by deep. Fact is pretty much everyone can get everything in Pokemon without proper knowledge of the formulas behind the game. Sure it gets complicated if you want to breed a shiny Pokemon and get the best out of him to use him against other players or whatever, but you can still get everything in Pokemon by just knowing what is effective against what. To kill Prinny Baal Pirates in LoC in Disgaea 3 you need much more knowledge of the game. That said, Pokemon can only be considered about as complex as Disgaea if you really want to fight against the best trainers in vs battles

pretty much. It works, doesn't it? You will ROFL-stomp every NPC with the same 3-4 pokemon until the Elite 4. You then spend about half an hour brushing up 2 - 3 more pokemon and you are Champ. During the extra content I bench my team and pull out a group I think would be cool to train, then it's on to the next set of gyms. Honestly this in not a knock against the game at all. I consider it good design that you can pretty much make any team work without having to pour 200 hours into the game.

And then you start actually playing the game and fighting actual people in competitive battles.

I'm just saying if you fight against serious players you need to know a lot about the game.
These
Are
Some
Examples
Not saying Disgaea is not "deep" for a RPG, it's just not as deep as Pokemon.

Hm. When you put it that way, I guess it makes sense. Considering the large roster of possible monsters and attacks, along with passive abilities and temperments I guess it would make battle against human players pretty interesting. The single player game you can actually completely ignore almost all of this though.
The only jRPGs I'm interested at the moment are Fortune Summoners and the PC version of Ys Seven. Probably Dragon Quest X in the future

And it coming to NA? Interesting I keep a eye on it during a steam sales.
Disgaea 4 - will be good
Atelier Totori - below average
Ni no Kuni - looks awesome
Tales of Xillia - please come to the US
White Knight Chronicles 2 - we've already seen it's not that great
Final Fantasy XIII Versus - is it 2016 already?
Hyperdimension Neptune 2 - seriously? no really, seriously? *vomits*
Rune Factory - don't care
Tales of Graces F - so stoked
FFXIII-2 - should be better than the original
I really dont like JRPGs. WRPG, on the other hand, is my favourite genre so i would put The Witcher 2 over any of those games :P
PAL360
I wonder if you will still feel the same way when the Witcher 2 is announced for the PS3 ?
Things that make you go.... hmmmmmmmm

Well, my favourite games this gen are Oblivion, Mass Effect and RDR and my most antecipated one is Skyrim.
Funny thing they all have in common is the fact that they are.......multiplats :o
and the 360 still had no exclusive anything all year lol. gonna be loving those jrpgs alongside uncharted 3.
people actually care about review scores because i sure don't.Isn´t the 360 most likely getting FF vs XIII and FFXIII-2?
And some of those games look like they´re gonna score really bad. :P

Theres a PC version of Ys 7 in the works!? Nice to hear, especailly if it has the same amount of polish and tight kb&m controls and as the others ones on pc.

Nope, Ys Seven WAS is the works for the PC but was apparently canceled because the developer had a falling out with the company that publishes their PC games, the best company for the job too. Also they believe the PC gaming game market (in Japan) is dead.
All great enough to buy and play again in english. Best console JRPGs Ive played this gen (bar wasnt too high though).
When Xillia and Versus come to the states sometime in 2017 Ill consider buying them.
