UT3 PS3..shocked

I played UT3 on my mates ps3 a few days ago. I couldn't believe there was no split screen option. I thought this game was made for multiplayer...even gears of war has split screen. I read the gamespot review and I dont think the lack of split screen was even mentioned. Is this not important for poeple anymore? The most fun times ive had playing video games is split screen shooters like goldeneye and halo. I then tried playing online and it was so laggy i just turned it off.

we don't know. but yeah, split screen should have been there.

i was also shocked at the single player at first. but later on i thought it was a great introduction in the multi player for me (never played an UT game befoe...)

why single out the ps3 for this? the 360 is just as bad if not worse it seems offline mutliplayer is something thats fading fast. along with bots they are no longer the in thing :( which is a shame cos i loved bots and me and my friends playin on same console havin a blast. They appear to be makin gamers lonely beasts only communicating online o0_L0st_B0y_0o

You can have bots in UT3...unless that's just the PC version, wouldn't know as I wouldn't touch this on console.

Nope. Not unless they release some uber update for it that modifies the game to allow splitscreen. But that is doubtful. I was going to buy this game but decided against it due to lack of splitscreen but I am reconsidering in light of lots of reviews from friends raving about it. Oh, and because of the Master Chief skin mod :P

When you think about it, UT has never had splitscreen except in Championship edition

I knwo what lag means, i'm just asking what you mean by lag? ... i dont get any lag, and i'm sure many other psn users dont get any either, seeing as most of our online games have dedicated servers.

Has Unreal ever had splitscreen? I don't believe so, it's always been aimed at online play.

I've been playing UT3 more and more on PS3. The mods are so awesome. I've recently started playing a lot. I finally know most of the maps, the voice chat is fixed and with the new update the game is 10x better than when it was released.

xbox live has been kind of laggy every time i played on it too, it doesnt mean its laggy for everyone, lets not generalize.

What i mean by lag is that the PSN network has lag. And if you are so sure that many other PSN users dont get lag that why does the TC states it in his first post?

You can have bots in UT3...unless that's just the PC version, wouldn't know as I wouldn't touch this on console.

I had unreal tournament on the ps2 and unreal championship on the xbox and they both had split screen. IT was the most fun part of both games.

Im not at all...id be saying the same thing if it were on 360. No split screen is a massive let down. I compared it to gears seeing as there both made by Epic. Gears made for singles player yet has split screen and UT3 made for multiplayer yet theres no split screen. Seems stupid.

The 360 doesn't even have UT3, of course it doesn't have those things. I've not heard a single person ever cry about not having UT3, i think it's agreed by the majority that it's POS, theres better multiplayer games around.

i'm not getting this game when it'll be released for the xbox 360, but as it doesn't even have any splitscreen action i'm defeniatly not going to buy this when it get's cheaper.

I haven't experienced any significant lag either. Maybe we should give him the definition of ping.

Not everyone enjoys online. I'm still not the biggest fan of online gaming yet and I'm not completely sure as to why I'm not, but I really do enjoy split-screen or LAN parties partially because its my friends I'm playing with and, while things get competitive, its almost always enjoyable.

They should have given the players the choice whether to play splitscreen or not at least.

On the PC version, I was shocked at how underwhelming the title was, first and foremost.

I feel sorry for those who brought UT3 on the premise that it would introduce them to the franchise.

UT3 sucks imo - it's dead to me now. they focus too much on making it look pretty and forgot about what made it so great in the past, the fun - accessible - multiplayer.

also might have something to do with the PS3 having issues with the UT engine, maybe they cant do split without serious performance problems.
