A super cheap ($99? YES PLEASE) micro console that plays PSOne, PSP, and PS Vita games on the TV, comes bundled with a DualShock 3, lets me access the Vita library for just $99?

A microconsole that not only has a better game library than Chromecast/Ouya/Apple TV/Roku, but also has media and social functionality (YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, Twitter, Skype, Facebook)?

Holy shit yes, I want this.

Converting what was basically an overpriced failing handheld with no market interest into a cheap microconsole with the best library of games in its class? Sony gets it. This will save the Vita.

I'm still trying to figure out how it will play PS1 & PSP games. Now I know PSVita games have a slot on the side to insert your PSVita game into it. The unit looks way , way to small to accept a PS1 CD or PSP UMD card. So how the hell do we play how PS1 and PSP games? Is this going to be DD only for PS1 and PSP games? If so, does that mean we have to BUY THE GAMES AGAIN?

Um don't you need the PS Vita console along side the PS Vita TV device? Or am I missing something?  Cause holy shit if I could just buy this micro console device and play PS Vita games off the PS Store right off the bat.  That would be amazing.

Crossel777

You can. I think it comes with 8GB of storage, so you can download PSVita games or use the physical PSVita games and insert it into the unit. Still trying to figure out how PSP and PS1 games get played.

Any PSP and PS1 games you own on your PSN accounts should work with this. You have never had to rebuy your digital content on PlayStation. This is Sony, not Nintendo :|

I have physical content, not digital. At least I can play all my PS1 games on my PS3 still. I guess I'm completely out of luck with all my PSP UMD games. Sony is crazy if they think I'm rebuying games just to play them through that unit. I have almost 200 PS1 games and about 40-50 PSP games.

I still have this game, which is hard to find now - http://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Misadventures-of-Tron-Bonne-Sony-PlayStation-1-2000-Complete-Free-Ship-/261280621890?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item3cd589e542

Well, I guess that sucks, but really, complaining that a 2013 console does not have a physical slot for a console released in 1994 and 2004 respectively is stretching even the definition of nitpicking a bit too far.

Why is it so hard for cows to accept it.  The vita is dead, over, finished, finito.  Nothing can save it.  Nothing at all.

it is obviously digital. You'd only have to buy them again if you never bought them on psn in the first place. Why would anyone who hasnt bought a ps1 game on vita/ps3/psp want to buy vita tv. Its obviously for those people.

When they stop making systems and games is when it dies. We are enjoying the system until then which we know is hard for you to accept. Might even take you all gen if vita makes it that long.

Vita TV is such a desperate move. Some of the "great" VITA line isn't there. WTF is the point?

PS Vita TV can 'technically' support PS3 games through the cloud, according to SCE CEO

PS Vita TV can 'technically' support PS3 games through the cloud, according to SCE CEO

We know that the PS Vita TV will play PSP, PSOne and Vita titles, and will even (eventually) be able to stream PS4 titles once both devices are on sale. But how about PS3? Andrew House, Sony Computer Entertainment CEO, explained in around-table interview that the tiny streaming set is "technically" capable of supporting PS3 titles through the same cloud-based streaming that will bring PS3 titles to its successor. It makes sense, (if it can stream fancier games from the PS4, titles from console iteration no.3 should be a cinch, right?) but it's the first time we've heard that Sony is considering it. We're hoping the feature eventually makes it, if only to make amends for the confusing backwards-compatibility saga that the PS3 previously suffered.

I like the Vita better as a handheld with its OLED screen and full compatibility with the touch screen. At home I'd play on my PS3 or PC, Vita or 3DS for on the go.
