Wada: Square looking into FF Versus XIII for 360.

I'd still get it on the PS3, but I'd laugh. I'm certainly looking forward to Versus, but I just can't shake the feeling that I'm gonna be playing as some wannabe J-pop idols with guns.

This is why I love the weeks running up to E3. Rumours start to come out from everywhere.

It is frighteningly close to the magic June 14 for something like this to some about. I can't wait. I don't personally own a 360, I just want to play the damn game, so as long as it's on PS3 in some shape or form, I'm good.

It'll probably be another AA like FFXIII, who cares anyways?:P

If this is the case, and Versus also goes multiplat, I'll pass on it, too. I didn't get XIII because Squeenix decided to multiplat (downgrade) it, and that showed in the reviews.. I will pass on vs XIII as well. Shame though, I was looking forward to it. an exclusive game almost always turns out better than a multiplat. yes there are numerous exceptions, but the majority are better. Gears 2, Halo, Uncharted, Killzone 2, Mass Effect, LittleBigPlanet, etc. There are only a few multiplat games that hit it big. Namely the music games (RB, GH) and the COD series, GTA, and Fallout... outside of those, most multiplats are generic garbage (IMO?) But oh well, Honestly, I expect nothing less from Squeenix. but oh well. I was more or less on the fence about the new FF's anyway... but I was leaning more towards looking into FF vs XIII. I do wish MS would start losing some exclusives though... *shrug* Besides, nothing is concrete yet. If cows are lucky, maybe Kevin Butler will become VP of Holding Exclusives, and throw money at Square or something.0rin

Thats a very facepalm worthy thing to say, i know its your opinion but i see no reason to want less games on a console.

Actually 360 is far more capable of doing tha world map than PS3, Alan Wake proves it

that's the thing they are probably about 90% done all ready Versus has been in the works all most as long as FF13.

Note: heres to Square learning a lesson from FF13 and getting a dedicated Cinematic mixer so the CG is at its best on the 360 version, heres all so to them learning to give it a better port job instead of the slop job they did with 13 which is entirely the reason it was sub hd...ect

No. FFvs13 isn't 90% done. They stopped development on it while making the 360 FF13 port, and even before then it was still in the early development stage.

And people were knocking FFXIII 360's sales. It's obvious that SE was impressed.

All we know is that Versus 13 could be multiplatform which opens up a huge range of possibilities to start flame wars (which is the reason why many 360 fans want the game to multi). I really want it to stay exclusive so we can see how much power the game will utilize on the PS3 and see if this Final Fantasy does not disappoint.

No, he never threaten to do anything. He said that SE allowed the teams working on each game to decide whether or not they wanted the game to be multiplat and he and his team wanted FF VS XIII to be a PS3 exclusive to take full advantage of the system. I don't think he was happy about FF XIII going to the 360 though but I could be wrong, I remember Japan wasn't happy lol.

The relationship is mutual. Sony needs SE as much as SE needs Sony. Since SE has all but abandon the Wii, the PS3 is there best shot. Sony needs SE titles (especially SS and Tri Ace games) to sell systems and make money in Japan.

And 5 bucks says its worse on 360 jsut like 13 was due to DVD 9 and the fact that most of its deving was on PS3. So really, even if by the grace of god it goes to 360, I really cant see it being as good as the PS3 version giving FF 13 as a track record.

Because Versus will cost 10 times more than Lost Oddessy. Mistwalker is not SE. They get funding from other companies who would probably want the games published on a single system especially since its Japan.

Its published and owned by MS so no obviously. Its not the fact that its on the 360 thatmakes people like it (well realistically its sw and it is the reason but. . . ), its the fact that in this day and age, it has no reason to not be on the 360. Its perfectly capable of being there. Exclusives should never stay exclusive for honour, if it needs a bigger audience for money to continue, gamers need to encourage that.

FF was never a Sony exclusive franchise, Halo is an MS exclusive franchise.

FF was never a Sony exclusive franchise, Halo is an MS exclusive franchise.

You could say that about any exclusive games on any console. There are reasons why systems should have exclusives and there are reasons why systems still do have exclusives... I aint gonna even apply to the person above you..any iam done talking about this. We shall see where this goes.

Sony couldn't make a megahit popular franchise in Japan if there life depended on it. Also, he would have to start from scratch on a new IP which just have a far harder time pulling in numbers in Japan.

The problem is Numora said it once that the game will NEVER go multiplatform and is only exclusive to PS3..if they do make it multi which isnt confirmed yet if no-body for some reason didnt know it could mean that Wada will force Numora to do it and it could mean that Numora may do somthing extra for the PS3 version since he's one huge PSfanboy as i hear :P..that is if all this whole multi stuff is true in the first place..this will trully be intresting.. Wada with his greed and Numora with his love with Sony's Platforms :)

He doesn't, but if he is going to work in Japan, he is going to find individuals who are more Japan oriented in there approach obviously. On top of the fact he is probably going to make JRPGs which sell the most in Japan, FF being the exception.

His projects are expensive as hell. He hasn't worked on a new series that was a huge hit since KH and KH has the Disney appeal all over it. Most publishers in Japan don't have the money to let him have so many projects and have them all be so big budget.
