This coming from the latest interview from Gameinformer and all this coming straight from the WarHawk Developer, I think MS should really take notes here. Good read.

GI: Can that single-player content be brought back in some kind of downloadable content pack?

Jobe: I don't know. I have some really strong feelings about the approach to download content. I always joke with some of the guys in the office that for 95 cents you can unlock the X button.I don't think we want to nickel and dime the consumer. If there's a desire for it, then maybe we would revisit it, but we are not releasing Warhawk in a way where, "Oh, there's all this content that should have been in the original game and now I have to pay for it to get it."In my opinion, I think that's BS,and I know that Sony wants to deliver a strong product where you get what you pay for out of the box and that's that. And if people want more content, we'll make more content. But it's not something where we're Trojan-horsing content inside the game that players then have to pay for to unlock. I think that's taking advantage of the consumer.

Hmm sounds like one company should have the same mindset... :::cougsMICROSOFTCoughs::: Charging for Halo 2 maps on a LAST GEN game nonetheless and forcing Epic to charge for new maps coming out for Gears in the coming months. Heres the link to the article by the way

Sounds good, they want to fully deliver right out of the box, either way you'll have choices whether or not you use the content they provide, but at least you won't have to pay for anything extra that should've been in the original game.

Well, this is a little different from releasing new content. The dev is talking about content that already comes with the game that needs to be bought in order to unlock the content on the disc. That's whole lot worst than buying new maps that come out.

New maps I'm always up for, but I think they should be released as free DLC, along with new game modes, etc. Maybe necessary upgrades?

Uhh... up here in Canada (and thats before taxes, with taxes and converted to USD it would still cost $69.99), I know its hard to believe that not everybody lives in the US. I don't even want to know how much it costs in the UK.

WarHawk Devs is full of it. Their game was simply downsized. They had full intent on charging for new content had this game actually have made retail.

They never said they wouldn't charge for maps in the future. At this point they don't have any plans to because they don't know how successful the game is going to be so anything could happen in the future.

In the interview, he was refering to the habit of some developers of sticking content in a game (meaning the graphics libraries and source code are all there) and then simply charging for the two lines of code needed to unlock the product. I agree with this particular developer that this is nothing other than straight BS. Of course, it does reap a massive profit for the studio if the cards are played right, which explains its popularity. Microsoft has always been a fan of charging for extra content like this.

First Party £40 (£30 on amazon)

third £ 40 - £50

Who gives a damn? Motorstorm is better then any of those mindnumbingly boring racing games on the 360. And it is online you know, which takes almost forever to become great at that because there are a ton of people who are amazing at the game and can own you, whereas you get nothing more then screaming kiddies on XBL who keep crashing into walls. I am sure new maps will be made available soon for Motorstorm, for free might I add, whenever the development team gets around to adding new levels.

only thing that really TICKS me off with MS, how they can force Epic to charge for maps. when epic has never ever charge us pc gamers for maps or even bonus packs.

[QUOTE="htekemerald"]??? so instead of making new contect for the game and charging for it, they just wont make new content at all? Geez atleast with cahrging for it you have the option.jonesy1911
haha back to the options bs again, "oh you get so many options, options options options" we love options.

How is having an option BS? Even if it means that you have to pay for it, which by the way, is how things are usually done in the real world, it's still better than not having anything available at all.

MS is really pushing it, they made 360 cheap, to show people its the better deal, but then you have to pay for every stuff that is offered free in other consoles/pc. Yes MS gives you option, ill give MS that, but what good is it when you have to pay for each option? Heck I even have to pay for an avatar pic.

I don't think that has happened as much as people think. I could be wrong (go figure) but I could have sworn that DLC stood for downloadable content? Aren't you supposed to downloading this stuff? I remember EA trying this kind of thing with cheat codes and being trashed for it. And I think a couple of Xbox 1 games did this but I'm not sure if those were MS studio games or 3rd parties..MS really doesn't control what 3rd party publishers charge on XBL. What games has MS charged for DLC that actually wasn't DLC?

your right, im a fake boy. im a fake boy who is a PC GAMER FIRST , 360 GAMER SECOND. who does not blindly follow MS around like some lost puppy. I am a FAKE BOY who is being charged for map THAT SHOULD BE FREEE. yes im a FAKE BOY. in fact my new sig will be HI I AM FAKE BOY.

i don't think you're a fakeboy, just a little misguided for trying to make xbox live into pc gaming....

pc gaming is one thing, console gaming is an entirely different being.  Online services included.
