My GTA4 did that too... b/c my mom knocked over my console.Mine did that.Scratched my copy of GTA4...I was pissed.Called microsoft, they told me to call Rockstar..I gave up.I just went to the store to get it fixed.I like my xbox but I'm always scared it will RROD or anything.

This also says it on the orignal Xbox 360's. On the disc trey it says "do not move console when playing" or something like that.
Old news is old
Fail attempt at bashing 360 is fail
how would this NOT happen? Do you even know how DVD drives work?wolverine4262
i can make my wii and ps3 do somersaults and they don't scratch the disk
this is kind of disappointing
My GTA4 did that too... b/c my mom knocked over my console. Suck, but that's understandable. My 360 was just sitting there.I turn it on with my controller(as always) and it suddenly scratches the game.[QUOTE="Lto_thaG"]

Because you buy console so you can make it do somersaults:roll:
If you move any DVD drive it'll probably scratch...locopatho
ya know people used to carry these around:
the biggest problems those had was cd's skipping... but even those didn't scratch your disks and people did all sorts of crazy **** to their cd players

OK? and?
question is, do you NEED to make your 360 (or wii and ps3 for that matter) do summersaults?
people find the most dumb reasons to bash something i swear

Im sure thats a huge feature you are super proud of. Care to demonstrate?Solution install games that cost the most to replace and dont move your console. Install the game and you can move your xbox 360 to your hearts desire while playing games.
How about if a friend or family member bump into your 360 and it accidently fall down . I think just moving it or even shaking the new 360 will causes scratches on your disks.Solution:
Play your game when you are using the system and not juggle it.
Problem solved

totally missed the point: not all dvd drives scratch your disks
well to be honest does your laptop do that when you move it? PS3 nor the Wii does that either. It was proven that the issue was because of a rubber ring was missing from the drive. And to be honest I got rid of my 360 for cutting my games and I didn't even move it so it is a problemSomeone's new to the concept of disk drives, I see.

don't keep it out in the open?

I was about to make a similar point. My pc has not scratched a disc when I had 2 discs in it and someone kicked the whole thing over, and that has cheap £18 disc drives in it.

Try moving your desktop around like a roller ball toy and see what happens to a disk in its drive. The Wii and PS3 use the slot system.Someone's new to the concept of disk drives, I see.

This is being totally looked over by too many people in this thread. There are different disc-reading systems, not all are the same. :?Well there goes my dream of playing 360 games whilst on the go - I guess I'll just need to leave it sit in mah entertainment center and play the games from my couch. :P
In a rv while it moving.just a question. why would anyone move a console when the are playing a game?

[QUOTE="wolverine4262"]how would this NOT happen? Do you even know how DVD drives work?DiviniuzDo you? Laptops and portable disc playersBoth of which are designed to be mobile.;) You dont see people moving their destops and stereo systems while a disc is spinning.

I don't think there is a single disc drive on the market that won't damage a disc when it is moved... aside from perhaps laptop drives. This isn't a MS or 360 problem, but user error... and always has been.
