That's true, but FFX-2 is an outlier in the FF series and it's not FFXIII.

FFX-2 is the ONLY J-pop FF I know of. :?
Don't see how FF is now "J-pop crap" because of one game out of many in the series...
Look at their oufits and hairstyles....its more than just music....and the theme song of XIII is J-PopDon't be so xenophobic. That's the style over there just like North America praises muscles and scruffy beards more than intelligence.Look at their oufits and hairstyles....its more than just music....and the theme song of XIII is J-PopDon't be so xenophobic. The problem is that FF is an international franchise....its too Japanocentric right now.
I am fine with Persona being Japanese style...it fits the games settings.

I don't know if I'd call the the theme song Jpop. It's really more of an instrumental track with a Jpop singer doing the vocals.

The dreams really flesh him out an dgive him a personality, and it turns out he was hardly angsty at all.

So you're mad because a Japanese game is being japanese? But yourself in their position, a game from a series the entire US loves is coming out, but the characters all wear robes so it's well-received in India (this assuming India were big game-buyers). That sound like a good idea? They're merely true to their fanbase.

I haven't played LO, but I know I don't want JRPG protagonists looking like Kaim, that's for sure.

I'm pretty sure people in India don't all wear "robes" and FFXIII isn't emulating how Japanese people dress. It's a fantasy game with a cast of colorful and exaggerated characters. Just like the Final Fantasy series has pretty much always had.
Teh fayse of jpop!11

Kaim, if anything, looked more "j-pop" than any of the main characters in FFXIII. I mean, the dude had his whole stomach showing like come on, seriously? He was also boring and barely talked. LO had some of the worst casts in years with a horrible antagonist.

OK, bad choice using India and robes. But my example is metaphorical and can be extrapolated to other aspects of the game.

The LO cast was excellent, far better than most FF casts as they were not over top characters (exxcept for maybe Mack), but mature characters, with even Cooke showing some maturity. They felt like real people with real problems, unlike most JRPG casts.[QUOTE="AfterBurnerZ"]Lolno.[QUOTE="savagetwinkie"] kaim was an awesome protagonist, probably the best this gen, its not so much we want big muscles and scruffy beards, we just want strong confident leads that are dressed for the occasion of winning texasgoldrush

It's not like FFXIII's characters were any better but everyone in LO was an archetype. They most definetly didn't feel like real people, at all. I don't know what type of game you were playing but Lost Odyssey isn't what you described.[QUOTE="texasgoldrush"][QUOTE="AfterBurnerZ"]Lolno.

also his stomach doesn't show, his back armor is a little short, nothing jpop
As a Final Fantasy game its adequate its not the worst nor is it the Godly game some people make it out to be. The graphics are amazing, music is ok characters are ok. The plot is good but very poorly told with some of the cheesest sappiest dialogue in the history of video games. Buy it if its on sale

Who makes it out to be godly? I don't think I've ever seen people make it out to be that great.

There are a lot of people who say that its the best FF13 which i suppose is there opinion but it was over hyped
I really liked the battle system and the art design was interesting at times, but while the story started out pretty well, I lost interest about halfway in, and I don't enjoy the characters. I'm almost done with Chapter 11 and I gotta say I'm not feeling much desire to push forward.
It provided me a decent 20 or so hours of entertainment (and about 20 hours of meh-tastic corridor running...)
